Not good
The updates don’t allow users unable to afford newer phones to use the app so it’s useless to me. The updates will not allow use even if I go straight to the web site. 😔
Sometimes its over whelming it just keeps coming.
There are not enough hours in the day to read it all.
Confusing
So many misdirects I felt like I had fallen into a Click-Bait website. 10 minutes to find and hit the right renew button that actually worked. Lots of good stuff overlooked for now because of this.
Travel Center hard to find info
Good deals, but finding your bookings on Expedia is a process and frustrating.
I love this app
This is how I keep informed on so many topics not just Social Security and Medicare but many other topics that we may not think about every day but have an effect on our daily lives. AARP helps to me expand my knowledge about things l need to enrich my life as a senior citizen. Thanks AARP.
Updated right out my iPad
Your upgrades have made your app useless on my iPad. And no options to choose a compatible version. I can't afford a new iPad. So I'll have to stop using AARP. Boo!
Problems loading games ads never stop
I have this app on my android phone and it works beautifully there. On my iPad I get endless ads while opening games and the games will not open. It seems to be stuck in a loop. The other aspects of app seem functional. The informational articles can’t be beat.
Great content. Poor functionality.
The app has a lot of interesting and useful information and resources. The functionality leaves a lot to be desired. It’s very glitchy and the navigation is not intuitive. I signed up for the 30-day fitness challenge and have to search for it every time I want to do a workout. Signed up for a free AI course— good luck trying to find and launch it! When I did find it, it didn’t recognize that I was enrolled — until I enrolled again and it said “it looks like you’re already enrolled!” Umm…thanks? On that note, it keeps the annoying “enroll in auto renewal”banner persistent and it often follows your progress down the page, blocking content. It should recognize that I’m enrolled and leave me alone. Lastly, you can add another member to your account, so I added my husband. Or tried to. When I submitted his info, I got a message saying the name couldn’t be the same as mine. Huh? Closed that window of nonsense and tried again next day — his name was on the account. Sigh…. All in all, if you can tolerate and navigate around the nonsense it’s excellent content and worth the membership. Some things work better on a desktop or laptop and I’m sure the app will catch up eventually. I just feel bad for those folks that aren’t tech savvy because it’s gonna get old fast — no pun intended.
Learning everyday!
So many varied topics offered every day! Love the short clips that peak my interest & curiosity…. To dig deeper into a topic I didn’t know I was interested in!
Not as Advertised
This app is not user friendly or easy to navigate. The pages take forever to load and often freeze the screen. The print is very small which I find ironic as AARP is typically associated with Seniors in mind. The settings menu was incredibly difficult to find and upon arrival it would not allow me access to customization options. In frustration, I attempted to downloaded the app on my iPad. That experience was even worse as the app has frozen within the initial setup sequence and I can’t access it at all. I was looking forward to enjoying the additional benefits offered with my membership but I have only wasted an entire afternoon without any real progress. Unless the developers make additional improvements, I don’t recommend wasting your time or storage space on this app.
Logs me out, not a good app
I’m new here. I’m not impressed with the App at all. It’s 2026, it should be better than this. I’m 57 and reasonably tech savvy. I wouldn’t recommend it to my parents. Doesn’t even get the basic functionality down. I reconfigured my dashboard to show what I want. It reset to default. I do the crosswords and by the time I finish (15-30 minutes) it logs me out so it doesn’t recognize which ones I’ve done. It doesn’t recognize my login. The website is a LITTLE better but not by much.
Too many ads
The app works fine and has good information but has way too many ads
My AARP apt
this is a great apt i'm glade i down loaded it.
Severely Broken
This app doesn't work. 1. It does not render correctly on iPad, the screen gets cut off in landscape orientation. 2. It keeps bugging the user to enter their phone number and says it is sending a code, but the code never arrives. Yes, I did double check my phone number was entered corrrectly.
Navigation is horrible
I got a push notification about a savings at a shop I wanted to go to. I closed the notification, went into the app to find it (I even searched by the name of the shop), nothing came up. The navigation in the app has been really bad since I joined several years ago and it hasn’t improved at all
Not User Friendly
The app has a My Inbox feature full of junk articles and useless emails. My Inbox LOOKS like it was designed to imitate your email inbox with a notification number at the inbox icon ~ don’t be fooled ~ it’s 100 of the same fluff articles you already ignored. And , the video games are not working properly on your phone or laptop. It’s just a gimmick to get your attention and force you to watch ads after each round of play. The entire AARP app has been designed to be a time-suck, making you think you’re productive; but you’re just stuck wasting time with pop up ads and unnecessary notifications.
Value
I get a lot of information that I really need from the articles I’ve read in AARP’s newsletter. I also get discounts that more than pay for themselves and cover more than what I pay to become and stay a member. I recommend the membership!
Horrible over complication!
What should be a very simple process is made intentionally over complicated, and a major frustration! You have developed multiple applications with slightly different titles, which only adds to the confusion and unpleasant experience! Apparently, AARP Now, is the first place to go, but is almost impossible to locate! Why, the big secrets- be more forthcoming, and simplify the process and directions!
Well!!!
Having an older model iPad Pro, I can’t op the app any more because the app advises me there is an upgrade available. The problem is that my iPad is not able to upgrade, so I am stuck in a loop, going from the app telling me to upgrade, while the only option from the App Store is to ‘open’!
Nice app, but no longer updates on my iPad
Disappointing that developers keep “improving” apps even when they’ve worked well all along, and suddenly no longer works on my iPad without the required update. Seniors don’t need ALL the bells and whistles to be happy with an app designed for the over 55 crowd.
Good app
Great benefits
Crashes a lot and features don’t work
AARP has never been able to get an app that consistently works. It crashes all the time, logged me out and then won’t let in, and many of the menus do not work. Even when it does work it’s very slow.
It’s fine
Easy Enough to use. Can track points and see benefits l.
Fabulous & Informative!
One of the few apps that have a target audience of over 50, that actually enhances our knowledge, abilities, and intelligence!
Worse app ever
I created a user and password verified through my email and then could not get on to the app.
Rental car codes not working
Keep saying code is wrong
6th generation iPad doesn’t have 18.0
Apple provided a 17th generation update unexpectedly, but it’s not supported by AARP app, have to buy new iPad just to read AARP news…
iPad
Tried to log on,took my password but it got to a screen that wants a 4 digit code but it will not let me access the keypad to put a code in
Informed
You really need to do research to understand all that is offered,
Very informative
This is a very excellent informative app
Games
I thought this site was for seniors, but they replaced a lot of the games for seniors with kid games.
App Update required
Yesterday my app said I was required to update my app. Requires IOS 18 or greater. I don’t see an update for my iOS to 18. Apple has not given me this option. Now I do not have access to AARP member information. ??? Thanks for your help. I’m still on iOS 17.7 and this is the current iOS apple has for my IPad. Any ideas?
Linking my card to Exxon etc.
Did not know I could link my AARP card to these gas cards for discounts and rewards and or money back. Would like a step by step guide on how to do that.
John
This app has a lot of issues with the earning points for rewards very hard to earn points anymore
