What people like
- Really helps when you get stuck playing.
- Simple to type in letters and search.
- Good for learning how words are built.
What they complain about
- New design is confusing and cluttered.
- Ads interrupt you constantly even if paid.
- App crashes or freezes frequently now.
- It gives words that are not valid.
Omg please change it back
This is a frustrating app now. The cursor won’t go where I tap. You have to open the advanced filters every time. You have to click 4 times to clear the word out. If you want to add a letter, you have to attempt multiple times and it just deletes the whole thing so you have to retype. Read the room guys, we all hate this.
Disappointed
I like the old set up of word finder before they upgraded
Bobsherger
I paid for no ads & I keep seeing ads.
You ruined it
It was great until this last update. Now it’s confusing and awkward to use and the layout of the search results is awful. Boo.
Why?!!
Why did you have to change a perfectly good app that I love to use. It's very frustrating now. Ordinarily, I would give it a five star rating but not now.
Thanks!
Thank you for bringing Legacy Word Finder back! The new additions are great, no longer need to search for suggestions or hints.
Unwanted Ads
Sick of these interruptions … it’s infuriating .. like the simplicity HATE THE interruptions I hate the new version .. I would be happy with the original …. Ad appears an the letter are lost when you return
Pretty good, but…
The app works well but has a few weird quirks. For example, if you click on a word to find the definition, you get a black screen that appears to be a one-second video of blackness. You can then close it by clicking the X. Also, some listed words are clearly errors. Also, the paid “no ads” version still has video ads that pop up in that definition screen once you close that glitchy black video.
Hate the update
Bummer of an update. It's basically a completely different app now. I don't like it anymore, but it was free so whatever.
GETTING BETTER, BUT
Clearly there is a bit of tweaking going on. But there is more needed. “STARTS WITH” has a button to clear the letters, but not the “ENDS WITH” does and that would be a great addition. Seriously the app needs to stay open while switching back and forth between apps. The ADVANCED FILTERS absolutely help’s with sizing, etc! But a word search of ORGI? did not reveal the word needed among the offered words, VIRGO being the correct word, weird?? As a regular user had to share.
Mostly
It used to be great! Now it SUCKS!!!
New Version SUCKS!!!
The latest version of the app is absolutely horrible. Not only is the new UI convoluted as all get out, the app is incredibly unstable and it freezes constantly, and I have to hard quit it.
Improvement
It’s excellent but could have more words relevant to Scrabble & get Scrabble W2 to marry up with you To make it more demanding. Enjoyable
I want the old one!
This version is not as easy to use as the older one and it is too big for the screen once put into use! Wasn’t broke - shouldn’t “fix!”
Hate the update.
It looks good but loses functionality. Worse yet, it gives me words that are not legal in scrabble even though it set FOR scrabble. Also there is no way to give feedback to tell them a specific word isn’t legal. Hopefully they see this.
Was great until
Was a great app until I gave it five stars. Then it asked me To write a review, and will not let me get out of that page
New version is awful
I don’t know why people have to mess with what works. This new version is terrible. I can’t even see some of the words that show up. I just don’t like it at all.
Great game
Love the game it works when I want to cheat and I love it best game I ever had before
Used to be good!
Have relied on this app for a couple years but today I am second guessing it! I submitted DWMISO and the longest word it returned was MISDO. Thinking I typed it in wrong I submitted the obvious word it should have found as WISDOM. It returned, once again, MISDO. What gives? And yes I checked my settings
What happened to the anagram solver?
I’ve been using this app for ages now and very happy that I can put in my letters and get given the words in length order that can be made. It’s been updated and now all of a sudden it seems to just be help for scrabble and other games but no plain, basic anagrams 😭
Great apo
Comes in handy when totally flustered. Best in class!
Changed!
Unsolicited changes to the downloaded app is NOT a good idea!
The word finder
I preferred the old version
Prefer the earlier version
This one is confusing. Long list of words instead of side by side more difficult to read.
New Design Aug2026
This has been a great app, but boy oh boy this new design is NOT IT. WAY too much stuff on the screen, and not just the ads. Finding the returned words is CRAZY on the busy screen.
Life saver if you are stuck
I challenge myself as much as I can when I play board games. But once in a while when I get stuck, this helps me out great deal. It also helps me learn a little bit more when I play the game on how words are put together.
Bad update
What happened to the old, simple interface?
Missing a few words
Eg online
What’s with the Ads??
Just renewed my subscription for the fifth year to have the ad free version but now suddenly there is an ad showing on every word find. My rating has gone from a 5 to a 2! What’s going on???
Please fix the auto zoom-in
Overall, a great product that is easy to use and doesn't have a lot of bloat that's distracting. I've tried at least 7 apps for this purpose and this is the best. BUT...with the new version, PLEASE REMOVE the auto zoom-in that occurs when you unscramble. The entry of letters is fine, but then it goes to ~125% and cuts off the edges of the screen. And there's no way to zoom back out. It's coded into to program. Please get rid of that anomaly.
Find deez cods
This word finder is really cool. I like it a lot. It makes me happy I get to see so much with this yay and the best part is it’s freeish
Hate this app now
This used to be the sweetest, simplest app. You typed in letters and question marks and it’d give you a list of possible words. Easy. Straightforward. Now it’s a gigantic mess. A different tile for different games. No evidence of the old search at all. I loved this app for years. I’ve now deleted it entirely.
Can't purchase upgrade???!!
Great app but I've tried to purchase the 'full' version through the app and it keeps crashing. Purchased the analyse tool and that won't function either! Not a great situation.
No longer useful
Used to work brilliantly, but now won’t let you find words greater than 5 letters.
Fake words
Many, many of resulting found “words” are really not words at all according to the Webster dictionary, and others legitimate sources and not usable and just waste time. Frustrating!
Excellent
This is exactly what I was looking for. There are a lot of ads but they are easy to ignore.
awful
this was a marvelous app that’s been taken over and destroyed.
The Word Finder
I find this app very helpful BUT it doesn't have some words that I need. I presume it doesn't use the right dictionary that I need. I'm playing Scrabble Mattel which uses the English dictionary. Any chance of adding that to your app? Or do you know of a similar app that uses it?

Mr
Good application
Update sucks
Time for me to find something else. 😡
Simple and effective
Does what it says it will do with minimum fuss.
Why The Update?? IIABDFI???
Used to love this really useful App until I installed this weeks update. What was so easy to use and really useful has become totally unusable!!!! Can we have another update that restores it to the previous version?
More ads than a little bit
Waaay too many ads! Happens on about every other click!!!!
Game Changer
This app is a must for serious players.
€£¥
Changed the app and it no longer works for what I used it for
helpful
wicked works well wish u could use more letters but other then that wicked
If it ain’t broke don’t fix it
While this is a very handy app, the latest update is terrible. The layout is confusing and counter-intuitive with the scramble button up on the left whereas your eye moves down and centre or right to look for it. The text is tiny and the buttons to delete letters already in the boxes are hardly visible which is doubly annoying as It’s not possible to overtype or edit - you have to delete and start again. Finally, the whole thing is squashed up in the top third of my screen, leaving loads of white space below. Why???
If u r forgetful
Sometimes when u r thinking and go back and forth they throw u a commercial and by the time it is over, i forgot what i went to check🤷🤷
