A Marvelously Melodious Platform
What a truly wonderful way to discover the musical performing arts across the spectrum from so many brilliant artists and institutions.
Still run by elementary school students
Medici TV has promised for years to incorporate favorites on all of the various apps and websites and to have seamless integration. This has been promised for over 15 years. It still hasn’t happened. The problem with the title of my review is that it is unfair to elementary school children. They could do a better job than the executives who run Medici TV Roku TV doesn’t show any favorites – it doesn’t show any at all. The Roku app continues to be very limited compared to either the Apple app or their website. Again, Medici promised to fix that years ago and has done nothing. The Apple TV app only shows a small handful of my favorites. Once again, medici.tv promised to fix this years ago and they still haven’t done it. The medici.tv website is no better, because when I try to click on the second page or the next page of my favorites, I immediately get an error message. So even on the website, I can’t access all of my favorites. Medici staff, when are you losers going to actually honor and live up to all of the promises that you have made to your customers in these comments? Aren’t you a little embarrassed by this record? Or maybe as long as people are dumb enough to pay you figure it doesn’t matter.
Needs other subscription options
This is a great app. Unfortunately, a subscription in Canadian dollars is not available. If a subscription can’t be available in Canadian currency, I imagine Euros would work fine for us as well.
Rough around the edges
The app keeps not allowing me to view my choices because of an update, and that I have to delete my favorites list, find them individually through the search function to like them again. Doesn’t work. The only programming I’m able to access is what pops up in the Home page. If I try to look for anything, I get the default sorry you can see what you want to see message.
Great content; buggy app
Not as consistent as other streaming services.

Dysfunctional App, bad customer support
I created my account, then needed to change my password. The app would not recognize the new password. I reset again, and the app still would not recognize it. After several days went by with with me locked out and the original purpose I had in mind for the app having passed, I reached out to explain what happened and seek a refund, since I had been totally unable to use the service at any point. The customer service I received was incredibly disappointing and reflected very badly on Medici TV. Needless to say no resolution was reached. Save your money and look for alternative sources to view the performances you’re interested in.

Technical support helped get the apps working and all is now good.
Unable to search the catalog
First I want to thank you for such a great opera app, but recently, I haven’t been able to search the catalog, so can you fix that please, and thank you. What is going on? It used to be 5 stars.
Needs a Samsung tv app
Love the content but needs app for my tv and needs English subtitles for more of the content

I finally was able to change my youtube music subscription for a better option. Medici is just awsome.

New features but poor performance/buggy
I like the new features. Being able to see the program notes and search while continuously using airplay is a huge improvement. Scrolling/searching through a video is very hectic - time stamp jumps around erratically and it’s really hard to find the spot you want. Also, my favorites list is blank. It still shows up on my account on a browser(Safari) but in iOS app it says I have no favorites. iPad 8th gen iOS 17 Update: lowered another star. After update, favorites still not working.
Medici.tv is great, but their app is not
For Pete’s sake, could you make sure that Favorites from one IOS app seamlessly synchronize with the othe IOS apps and with your website? Thank you.
Faulty App
Error message when loading video. I tried uninstalling and reinstalling; it worked for a minute and then went back to not allowing me to load videos. I’m currently watching content through the web browser.
Fails to load
It tells me that it “failed to load. Please try again later.” After two months of this my remedy was to delete the app and cancel my subscription. Problem solved. There was not enough ballet for my liking anyways.
It used to be 5 stars… what is happening?
I’ve been subscriber for Medici in the last 8 years approximately. Since last year the catalog had some cuts, and many videos have disappeared… many artists are also becoming rare figures, and only available in the old videos. Unfortunately, it’s becoming a regular practice to stream a video during a few months and after that, it’s gone, forever. All that I could still understand as contracts may have some restrictions… But what I really can not understand is the last update: the new version does not allow us to listen to the music while having the app running in second plan. Now, if you want to just listen, the app must be running actively in your screen. If you minimize it, the music is gone! That’s terrible! If that continues, I’ll probably suspend my subscription. Please fix it! I want to be able to listen without the need to have your app on first plan.
Terrible All Around
Low resolution streaming, no closed captioning on Apple TV, customer service is pretty much non-existent. Basically, it's been nothing but problems from the day I handed over my money. In fact, I only gave it two stars because the catalog is good. I had dreams of watching a lot more, but medici.tv made it impossible.
Password nuisance
Each time I wish to stream Medici.tv through Roku on my A/V system I am asked for my Medici.tv password. I don’t have that pronlem with any other site I use on my Roku
Broken Links: Medici App on IOS
Great content, very problematic iPad App. Most links to content take me to a “Must See” replays page, not to the content I want to see. All works as expected using a web browser, but of course a browser UI is clunkier. I’m a long time Medici supporter, sadly there are metadata issues between the iPad App and the Medici content database - which hopefully can be fixed.
Search does not work
I try to search for one particular piece of music. I get hundreds of results of works by that composer and that performer
Apple TV
Why not have an Apple TV app so you can access Medici.tv directly, instead of using airplay from other device? I suspect sound quality could be better without that intermediate step.
Unable to login on app
I was, initially, very excited at the discovery of this streaming service, until finding that the app is rendered unusable due to the inability to login! My login is completely successful when entered via the web browser, but tells me each time that it is “unable to log in with provided credentials”. Awfully disappointed at these technical issues, and seeing as many others seem to be encountering similar difficulties, I presume it is down to the app itself. Here’s hoping they may be resolved in future!

Alexander Malofeev piano prodigy
You do not have Alexander’s performances on Medici. Many pianist enthusiasts believe he, at 23 yo, is the greatest living pianist. Please include him. Given his exceptional musical genius, I assumed he would be on Medici. Other members have contacted you about this matter. I will not be renewing if he is not included in your programs. His absence is why I am giving a one star rating
Great app but suddenly crashing
I have been using for a few months and love the app and channel but today it is constantly crashing every time after opening after just a few seconds. I’m struggling to find customer support!
Can’t use search
Search bar doesn’t register/ bring up keyboard. Pointless app. Only good for browsing and saving to favs.
What happened?
I am a subscriber. Until recently, I had a horizontal view on iPad Pro with loads of offerings. Now, I see a vertical iPhone type view with restricted offering and harder navigation. What happened?

App still doesn't work
I last wrote a review over a year ago, but the app still doesn't work. This App Store thinks I have an app installed but I don't! When I tried installing the app, it still didn't load! You are not maintaining the app properly--it also is not part of Apple TV+ or my LG TV. I also cannot use it through Safari. And I understand AirPlay doesn't work. At this rate, you will lose customers left and right! Under no circumstances are you to charge me!
Apple TV app please
Thank you for the great content but we really need an Apple TV app. I don’t want to have to cast from my phone to my TV. I really hope they can do this.
Not happy with the update
I am writing this on behalf of my 81 year old mother who had loved the app until the most recent upgrade. Now she finds it hard to navigate and less intuitive. She gets upset every time she opens the app. She is very disappointed. One point in particular is that the app will not work in landscape on her iPad. While playing performances it does, but when navigating it does not. Very disappointing.
Disappointed with 5.0.1
We’re really disappointed with this new update. After much poking around, I found how to mark favorites, but have also lost the list I had previously. I don’t see any way to navigate to history. For some reason, the new app won’t let me switch from portrait to landscape when browsing.
Fabuleux, avec un peu plus de baroque, c’est mieux
J’apprécie toujours la redécouverte des grandes personnalités virtuoses comme Pires, Mutter, Capuçon et autres et la découverte de grands chefs, femmes et hommes, et de grands interprètes instrumentistes et chanteurs. Un beau travail de sélection et d’organisation réalisé avec beaucoup de sensibilité, me semble-t-il. Par intérêt personnel, j’apprécie les prestations de musique baroque et je souhaite qu’elles soient toujours offertes. Bravo.
Apple TV App
Too bad there is not a native Apple TV app. AirPlay is buggy for me . I would subscribe is there was one, otherwise a no thanks.
Pas mal sur ipad pro
L’application est tout à fait correcte et fonctionne plutôt bien. Mais à quand une application pour l’apple tv, pour regarder un opéra c’est tout de même mieux ?!
App crashes every time I play a concert
Content is very good and Web version works well, but this app crashes every time I play a video, just after 1-2 min, something is not working well, I have an Iphone 13 mini with last IOS 16. Please fix this problem and put sone instructions somewhere how to ask for App support, I didn’t find it on Website and the app support link on this app gives a 404 error. Thanks
Problem with downloading
Never able to download a video for offline viewing. When trying to view the download, it either gives a blank screen or the app immediately closes out.
A ticket to front row seats!
Thanks to the team at Medici, I’m able to enjoy the best seat in the house to concerts from major concert halls, opera houses and ballet companies, as well as competitions for up and coming young musicians, all without leaving home. The camera and sound work is stellar.
Doesn't work
It worked once after installing. After that every time I open it, it shows the splash screen with the message "Loading failed. Please try again later." I’ve tried restarting my phone and I’ve tried uninstalling the app and reinstalling it, but it never works.
Better if there was a Apple TV app
The app for the iPad is good screen mirroring to Apple tvOS is ok but a dedicated tv app would be even better.
Can’t Hear Anything.
I have been able to watch and listen to a fewoperas in this app. Concerts for some reason have no sound no matter how m y times or how hard I hit the mine button, The screen for the operas does not fill the whole area. The logo takes up the top space when wat hung on my phone. . This is frustrating to use. Quality and ease much better at Opera Bidion and so far thT is free.
No sub titles !!
It would be nice for the opera subtitles to appear on my iPhone.. Not happy with this..

With its last update, April 2024, the login using Apple ID is solved.
App doesn’t work
For more than a month I’ve not been able to use this app on the iPhone. I had the same issue on my iPad but when I deleted and reloaded the app it started working on the iPad. Lastly, why is there not an app available directly on appletv so that it reduces the need to always stream from the phone app onto the big screen. Please fix these issues. Thank you
good app
A great site with an amazing selection of music! The app works generally well except for one thing, which is that the back button doesn't seem to work... You just have to go to another tab and wait for the old one to go back to the previous menu by itself. Very odd... a solution to is would be appreciated! Is it just me having this problem?
Low resolution, white borders
I have stellar wifi. Medici.tv broadcasts come through at horribly low resolution, and there is apparently no way to control this in the Mac app. Also: Why fat white borders on the video, and not black as it should be? Terribly distracting and cheap looking.
Conventional iOS video controls, please
Hopefully the promised update will rectify the very strange way this app handles on-device and AirPlay video playback.
