Absolute God-send!
For those with a constant spam problem, this is an absolute God-send. Blocks nearly all spam with no false positives. You can choose to block all newsletters, or let them through so you can manually unsubscribe from the ones you don’t want to see. I see only one or two spam messages slip through per week and at least 3 dozen blocked per day. All this for a reasonable cost per month. I love it!!

There is a bit of frustration with the tool
The tool does parse for unwanted mail from my account but it does one big frustration. The tool doesn’t allow me to delete a subset of the mail it captures It allows you to delete all or just one at a time.
To much spam for what I paid for

It does block most of the spam after my email was widely shared and I was getting 100’s of junk mails daily. But some spam keeps coming through even though I flag the same senders as spam almost daily. And if it’s supposedly “AI powered” why can’t it learn that I don’t read mandarin, or German, or any other language than English. It doesn’t really seem to learn even after I manually assign spam or unwanted to particular senders. There must be a better app than this!
I love this app!
This is my first review for ANY app I've ever purchased. I have used this sweet little spam filter for years...and just recently added a second email address. I’ve never had a problem with it and my inbox remains lean and clean! Highly recommended!
Confusing to cancel
I tried this and didn’t like it. So I figured I could just delete the app. I was wrong. I lost all my emails. So, I redownloaded and logged back in. All my mail was in the blocked section. It’s very confusing on how to stop the filtering. I looked up how to do this and it says you need to delete the email addresses from the list in manage Emails, downside? You lose all your mail when you do this. So horrible! I went through and marked everything I could find that I needed as not spam then deleted the email addresses. I hope this works and I get my mail back. They need to make this more clear. As it is now, they make you kind of dependent on this app if you want to keep your mail. I hope I hear back from them on if I did this correctly. I have my account still just in case I need it. Awful though.
Really helpful
It took the 2 week trial to decide if it was really effective as my mail was being overrun by spam. It has been really good to effectively learn between good mail, newsletters and spam. Now I can easily batch trash spam. My internal Apple mail junk folder is no longer needed and the mail app needs little maintenance now. I definitely like this app.
Missing Many Emails
So many emails are getting through. I’m tired of deleting all the emails you miss.
Gut aber viel zu teuer
Der kostenlose Testzeitraum hätte mich eigentlich überzeugt, aber als mir dann die Preise für ein Abo angezeigt wurden, war ich entsetzt. 60€ pro Jahr für zwei Mailadressen hätte ich nie erwartet. Vielleicht 6€ oder 7€. Das ist es mir nicht wert. Dann lösche ich den Spam lieber wieder manuell. Außerdem mag ich keine Abos. Lieber ein Einmal-Preis und gut.
Excellent App
Does exactly what it says it does…keeps spam out of your inbox. I’ve had so much spam in my inbox, I was considering changing my email address sparing me the time consuming process of updating all of my contacts.
Emails all gone
I didn’t hit the start button or pick a plan to try. I downloaded the app and started the process to read more about it before deciding and it somehow started to intercept my emails and they stopped going to my inbox. I promptly deleted the app and removed my account as well as stopped the access. Didn’t get my emails back and they are just gone forever? This is terrible. Please be careful when you download as if you decide to not do it you may lose all your emails
Inept, Outdated & Troublesome
The program has no coordination with Microsoft software. Every MS update SpamDrain is denied access to network servers. This requires timely re-establishing login credentials for each email address. This has been an issue for years and yet they do NOTHING to fix the problems. Also: MS Defender alerts as “unsafe” at every login but I override the alert anyway. I would NOT RECOMMEND this filter program unless you have a lot of free time to waste & an extremely strong I.T. Backgrounds .
Sprain Drain
I used to think spam drain was an excellent program.and I used it for a long time Until it wasn’t Good any longer yet I’m still paying for it.Someone changed my info somehow and my spam mail stopped being rid off. I’d like to have it back in the condition that I first started with. I’m think it might have been French, but I’ve forgotten. I’d love to start again if I can be re-assured I still don’t have to drain my own messages again Ina Thomas.

The amount of spam had not decreased, it’s just not in my inbox.
I have been using the app since April ‘24 after having an email account be severely compromised a year ago. My computer would not support the desktop version so I’m using the app only. For the most part, I’m happy with it, they have missed maybe 4 messages that made it thru the filter and ended up in my inbox. I’ve received answers via email every time I’ve had questions, usually w/in 24 hours. Only criticism is that I’m probably getting more, not less spam since starting with this filter, and it’s the same spam repeatedly. I realize it’s not the function to eliminate it but rather to filter it - but wish it had an impact on eliminating it. I’m checking the app maybe 10x / day to go thru & confirm the ones they have blocked. Only other suggestion I’d make is to have a way to mark them all at once rather than clicking thru each manually. In general tho, I’d recommend it & hope it will be improved w/ newer iterations.
Partly Effective
I downloaded this on a free trial and initially it seemed good at filtering out spam. However this only applies to the inbox and I still get a load of spam going into junk mail. It clearly isn’t doing as much as it should so I decided not to go ahead with a purchase of it.

Not Such a Great App
I've used this app for a year. It frequently hangs up when I try to block a new site. All you can do is to reboot. After a few times that gets old. Also, it's servers often show as busy and its customer service is below par. When it's working it's great, but it's fragile and can take a lot of attention.
Spamdrain filtert intensiv.
Es werden viele normale Mails als Spam identifiziert. Nun gut, das kann man wohl im Laufe der Zeit einstellen. Allerdings sind mir beim Versuch, die gesperrten Mails wiederherzustellen, etliche davon im Nirwana verschwunden. Zudem stört mich, dass sich Spamdrain als separate App installiert, und sich nicht in das Mailprogramm integriert. Zudem wird eine wiederhergestellte Mail dann auch nicht im Mailprogramm gefunden, und kann von dort aus weiterbearbeitet werden. Spams finden: Gut. Funktionalität: Für mich Schlecht. Ich werde es löschen.

Great app
Great app... but absolutely hate the new colour scheme. I can’t tell easily what is spam and what’s been released or reported. The old colours were so much clearer.
The Good, Bad and Ugly.
We have been using SpamDrain for some time now. We have experimented many times with activating and the deactivating, we've noticed in our daily report that we get about 40/50 spam mails a day, when we deactivate SpamDrain we get about 8 spam emails a day. For me SpamDrain are making this product look more worthy than it really is, obviously SpamDrain are loading us with emails that wouldn't normally be sent to our address. Try deactivating and see if you still get all these mails to your inbox, for experiment. Why do we have to see the same spam day after day in the daily report? Why can't we have a "permanent delete" button. It appears SpamDrain like to show us a big lump of emails that it's stopped!!!!

Spam Drain
I really couldn’t get it to work even with tech support. Somehow my Verizon account is managed by AOL and AOL just wouldn’t recognize my Verizon email. Very frustrating
Great app, 99% of the time
I love this app. The only negative is that it sometimes takes over 45 minutes for mail to be pushed through from app to mail box. You can log into the app to see what messages are there, before it gets pushed through automatically. Would be great if you could include a “push” button, which lets users manually push through mail.

Daily reports inadequate
Generally helpful, but the daily reports typically only display some of the spam subjects and senders received in the last 24 hours. For instance, today I only got one spam, but have had to go onto the website to check. Some days it’s 4, and 3 are displayed. It’s all a bit random, and you wonder if there’s a hidden purpose. The app’s daily reports need to be adjusted to actually display the spam email titles which it says it’s stopped.

Does not Uninstall
I tried it don’t like it when I deleted on my IPhone it still intercepts my email. How does one shut this app off.
Surprisingly good
Once you have figured out how the program works it is surprisingly effective in blocking spam. It only searches certain mail folders so occasionally you might need to move a suspect message into a folder that it covers. However, it has kept my Spam folder remarkably empty after a few weeks use.
Good, not perfect
For some unknown reason Spamdrain does not "see" some mail. The undetected mail cannot be signalled as spam or marketing. This is a major drawback (when reported, Spamdrain unprofessionnally answers this is the client's fault: it accuses us of not having registered all our email addresses). Having said so, Spamdrain still filters 25% to 30% of the spam and other unwelcome marketing. But this ratio gets smaller year after year (I am a 3-year subscriber). Without being perfect, this app was initially good, but it becomes less relevant as time goes by, because it does not evolve. I will not renew my subscription for a 4th year.

spamdrain = the best
i jumped back on to Spamdrain after a few years off due to a change in computers. i am so glad i returned to it. i check through every day to see how much junk it catches (hundreds a day!) and to "release" any messages i actually want to keep. i can easily delete the potentially spammy messages after my reviewing them, then i go to the accepted messages for a quick review and deletion. this is a quick and successful process and for the very reasonable price of the subscription, i am one happy customer. my only "complaint" is that they got rid of the cute hampster they used to have on their site!
Don’t Use this App
I started getting a ton of spam after I had them remove my email from their site.
Effective but....
I tried this app in desperation following a mail hit every two minutes of 'mail undeliverable'; apparently a target of malware on someone else's computer, which IOS has no answer to. Spamdrain, over several days, effectively caught everything up until the point my ISP quarantined the account due to the amount of traffic - a reported 400+ accounts bouncing back and growing daily. My only concern about the app is that the process is 'tuned' by, I assume, the programmer, who issues a daily report on what was stopped and allowing anything through that may have been stopped inadvertently. Full details and control of your email account therefore have to be given over for this to work. If the filter tuning was achieved by the user, I would highly recommend this app.

Seems to work okay, but WOW, is it expensive! Must be something else out there that is good, but not so expensive.

Probably as good as it gets
Gave it 4 stars because it does catch/block a lot of email that I want…especially login emails- where they send me a numeric code as a one-time login or lists I did sign up for. Overall though I think that Spamdrain is an excellent spend of money. I often was at the point in which I felt I needed to start a new email address, this fixed that well. I avoid a TON of spam…right now I’m looking at what was caught, something called autobidmaster that I have no idea what it is, 717 supply because I bought something from him once or whatever, Piscifun, I probably bought something there. Food Network sweepstakes, I signed up for a sweepstakes a year or more ago and MyPillow…LOVE his products however they really do send a LOT of ads to my inbox. If I read every email I get I’d literally never sleep and still not be caught up. This app has given me control. I do believe that one does not necesarily pay for this or any similar app if they use the major email services; I suspect I can change some settings and train my email to catch and file as junk stuff I don’t want to see but SpamDrain is much much easier and less time consuming. I do find myself scanning the blocked stuff regularly and I regularly find stuff I want but the ratio is probably 20 or 30:1, maybe less and the stuff it blocks is rarely critical to my life; it’s just stuff I am interested in and signed up for a reason. I just have to remember to whitelist that stuff and it lets it through. I’d recommend this if you don’t mind the fee and don’t want to spend the time configuring your gmail or Microsoft account or whatever you have and I don’t have a reason for looking for another app/service. Nice app, not sure it can be done better.

Can’t sign in and the app blocks important emails—has a finger print sign in that does not work—i have been in contact with Verizon tech support and they are trying to contact spamdrain—but they can’t reach them—verizon thinks spamdrain works more like a virus that collects information—the App Store should not offer this app—I am no longer receiving important emails because of spam drain

It works ok, but you don't get a chance to buy it. Instead you get to subscribe for $US30 a year after the trial runs out. I SpamSieve for your Mac does a better job, works on your iphone and you can buy it once for the same $30 - once only - and pay no subscription fee. Way better deal.
