- New interface is confusing
Irreplaceable
Logos is irreplaceable for me. Everything I do within Logos on one device carries over to all the other devices. I love that feature. I am a huge fan of Logos and a long time user and supporter. The first time I used Word Search, it came on 3.5” floppy disc. That was somewhere around the late 90s, God only knows how much I have used and invested in WS/Logos. The tools available are unfathomable, it’s as if the mind and precepts of God at your fingertips. Actually it makes studying and research enjoyable.
Cannot access your account set up process nor read aloud to save my life…
Don’t have a lot of time to spend hours figuring it all out unfortunately
Great as a whole - sometimes highlight malfunctions
I use the app for about 20 minutes and then have to close it and restart it to get the highlight function to work again. On my phone and iPad.
Scripture Highlighting
Why do you make it so hard to highlight scripture why can’t it be click and change the color done
Not happy with the new layout
Granted: new layouts always take getting used to. But I don’t like it that the library button has been moved to a submenu (under Study). But the Shop button is still there. If I have to choose between the two, I prefer always having the library button visible, not the Shop button.
Useful
The search tool is a little clunky, but it’s free.
Not happy with new Mobile updates
Not happy with the idea that you make changes without giving us the option to keep the old format. I got more important things to do than to relearn how to use the interface. A fair amount of guest work and not enough support.
I use logos all the time
Logos is my Bible tool for my phone and laptop - no other app allows me to simoly open and read the Bible without distractions AND dive deep into great search tools and keep my hand-picked theological reference library with me wherever I go. I have chosen to use the free version and buy books that I know I’ll use. Logos is great.
Redesign is less useful
I’m not sure why all the menu actions I wanted have been merged into a single button. I do not appreciate the redesign. This should have been optional have than required.

Prefer previous interface
The greatest tool I ever purchased.
I never write reviews. I may give an opinion in stars but Logos deserves the review. Hands down this is the greatest tool I have ever purchased. I’ve used logos for 20 years and it keeps getting better.
New UI leads longtime users astray
The functionality added with and behind the new UI may be an added value but the appearance of the UI seems to be less attractive, bubbly and unintuitive. The look and feel was fine beforehand. Now I feel lost and it doesn’t look polished as it once did.
It's amazing, but…
I love this app for all of the study tools and resources it gives people, BUT for those of us who purchased the program before the monthly plans were available, I feel it is unfair to make us pay the monthly fee to get some of the new resources that are only available on a monthly plan. I already spent a lot of money on buying this, now I have to spend more to get a few extra resources. I understand charging the monthly fee “instead of” purchasing the whole package. Charging a monthly fee for those that already puchased is not cool.
AI Heavy, Light on One Step Conventional Tools
I have loved Logos since 1994 when I started seminary. When the mobile apps came out, I learned to love those too. This review is specific to the last mobile version. Logos may be positioning themselves for the future by their AI emphasis. All I can say today is that I pulled out the Bible to search for two words in scripture, and I could not find anything that I recognized as search. I couldn’t even figure out how to limit the AI to a set of books like Paul’s letters for example. I was in a meeting with friends and needed a verse. I had to admit that I couldn’t find one. First time since the mobile apps came out. Maybe there was training announced, but there was nothing in the app itself that warned me that it was going to be different this time than last time. This is the only way I know to get the company’s attention is by giving a negative review. First time ever. I’m sad.
Ok
Seems ok so far, but the audio playback options are horrendous. . .going to make this much more difficult to get through
If it ain’t broke…
The app keeps changing basic features so that I am constantly relearning how to navigate and search methods and terms. I don’t think I am an old fart yet, but I would love if the changes were less frequent. One example: I used to be able to type in a reference and hit enter and it would land there. Now it does something completely different and I have to make sure I don’t hit enter and instead find the table of contents search result. Old review: I rarely enjoy using iPhone apps over a desktop computer experience, but the logos app has everything I love about the software but without the clutter and confusion. It is super user friendly with the easier to navigate search functions, automatic reference syncing, and pop up lookups. This has made me more likely to use my logos resources more and more.
New App Blues
I just went to the app this morning as they normally do to try and answer questions that someone has and I’ve discovered that now I can’t find anything on the app at all. AI is automatically enabled whether I want it or not. In the tool has become totally worthless to me. Great job guys.
Love Logos … mostly
Logos is a great app, and after quite a while I’ve now gone further and invested in commentaries and other books on offer through their website. Love the side by side (swipe left and right) full page ability to have books and bibles accessible in that user-defined manner. And to have them linked by verse (as applicable). Hate the fact that you have to be online for some of the core functionality - eg when highlighting a word, the dictionary for what that word is and means is not there. But definitely my go to app for reading and digging deep.
What happened? Totally changed the app! Why?
I loved my Logos app but now it has all changed and not for the better.
Decent
I wish the reading with Audio experience was better. Some translations don’t have a reader other than Text to Talk, which is awful. There’s also no way to see what verse is reading, I wish it highlighted the verse being read or had some sort of marker that showed the verse being read. Otherwise the features on this app are endless and it’s becoming my daily driver.
Study tools
Great resource for equipping the believer to learn and grow in truth.
You now have to pay
I’ve had this app for a long time and have really liked it. You could look things up etc. I had to update my email recently and because of that I lost everything I was using on this app. It was free to use but not anymore. You now have to pay monthly to use a lot of the features I was using. No thank you. Truly disappointed in them. I won’t be using this anymore other than to look up verses.
Great potential but buggy
I use logos on my computer and love it but I’ve always found the phone app to be buggy. Almost every time I open it, it freezes for ages.
Unhelpful Changes
Recently the app has changed. It is now prioritising information searches. When I search for a bible passage I have to scroll through several results before I find the results that takes me to the actual Bible text I want to read. Even then, it often displays a different search result which I have to then close before I am allowed to see the actual Bible text I wanted to read. I’m sure someone loves these changes, but there should at least be an option to turn them off. It’s still a powerful app, but I am lately finding it easier to just return to a paper Bible, because it doesn’t crowd out the Bible with other information.
Upfront communication
I never saw any indication that we only get 3 free questions until I’d already asked 2

Immoral Renewal Practices
This company put the date and time in PST on their bills. When I went to cancel my subscription the day before it renewed, Logos had already charged me. When I asked for a refund they told me, sorry, but they charge renewals according to CST. I told them that that was not okay and that they have a responsibility to inform their customers what time zone they are using if it’s not the same one on their bills. Customer service stopped responding to me. I expected better from a supposedly Christian company.
Uncluttered alternative to YouVersion
I love your app but more Bibles should be downloadable for offline and importantly, preserve iPhone long press menu with word lookup, for non native English speakers please!
Logos doesn't work with Voiceover
I am trying to use Logos, but it does not work correctly with the Voiceover screenreader. This means that the app is unusable for me. I've tried using Logos for Mac and the web version and none of it works. I have tried to rich out to Logos support, but they told me that they are working on accessibility, but they have no timeline to make it accessible. I asked someone about Logos and he told me that they don't care at all about it. I don't know if that is true, but please fix this.
Note taking capability
The desktop version is better than the iPad version. Both version has issues with its note taking capabilities when it comes to formatting issues. Attaching of documents or links is an issues on the iPad platform.
Great Resource!
Logos is the best sermon writing/Bible software around. It is reliable, efficient, and grows with you as you grow in your ministry. I have loved using it and have recently purchased the For Churches version for our staff team and key leaders. I am excited or them to experience the benefit of Logos that I have been experiencing for many years!
AI not optional
Do not force ai on people. It should not be central in in the bottom menu… although that does seem to speak about where logos’ focus is…
My Favourite Bible App
I use this all the time, it is my default vs my traditional bibles. It is easy to search, I can split screen to view 2 passages, can easily switch translations to compare. I like that I can highlight text (and in diff colours) and add comments. There may be maps which would be great although have not found them yet. It would also be great to be able to jump to detailed strong number meanings for deeper word understanding. The one thing that is inconvenient is that in split screen, if I change the translation on one side, often both sides jump away to another passage. The most significant issue that happened in Aug 2024 and after being fixed started happening again in Nov 2024 is that when I copy and paste a Bible passage into any document, it loses the verse numbers, it is just a long paragraph. I phoned tech support twice and over a month later it is still not fixed. But they said they are still working with on it. But overall, Logos is a great app and usually makes it very easy to add notes inside the app and outside the app, has many good features and I highly recommend it.
Remove these stupid highlights..
Too many features for a bible app. Give me an easy way to remove highlights in the app itself and I will give you a higher rating. On a touchscreen or tablet merely brushing the screen in wrong place adds highlights to bodies of text that were never intended. Stop highlighting everything! Great access to the bible. But way Too easy to highlight text by mistake on a touchscreen device and not easy to work out how to remove highlights. On the touch screen it seems to be too easy to select text which gets auto highlighted for some reason. Removing accidental highlights on mobile is very hard to do if not impossible. I had to resort to the version installed on the desktop to remove these highlights.
Okay
Logo is OK. One of its strengths you can build studies in the sermon section, which is really nice. But you can’t even pull up a strong number very easily, which is strange to me. This ought to be a basic feature of any Bible software. Instead, they have a complex lexicon word, study thing. Their mobile version opens every new book in a separate tab, which is annoying. Why can’t you just click a verse from your sermon And have it pop up? They really need somebody that understands good user experience, because this is the most complicated Bible software I’ve seen. And as a software engineer with 20 years of experience working on user interfaces, it doesn’t need to be this bad.
Understanding
Great
Not intuitive
It feels like 2010 UI it’s very convoluted and you don’t have much to customize. So I can’t get the text to look the way that I want. Makes reading the Bible hard for no reason.
Long apprentissage des nombreuses nouvelles fonctions
Downgrade request
I’m battling to understand the app and not getting excess to all bibles
Updates makes app worse
Why would you take away central functionality? Why cant we add passages from the search functionality to passage lists anymore, it simply gives the option to add a new passage list, but it was possible previously to also add to another passage list directly from search? So silly to update an app and then take away functions, what’s the point of having something with less functionality than before? Apart from that, still one of the best bible apps in my opinion.
New app
I love Logos. I have used the software and the telephone app since 1995. It has always been convenient and helpful even when I did not have an internet connection. The new telephone app? I liked the old one. I’m missing a friend.
Only complaint is with Billing
I wanted to cancel my subscription as it was more than I needed for a bible study, they sent me a reminder email on September 8 informing me that the subscription would renew and my credit card would be charged on September 14. I opened my account on September 13 to turn off the renewal only to find out that they had charged my credit card and renewed my subscription a day earlier than their email stated. I have attempted to get a refund but after several tries they refuse to budge. Never thought I would have to dispute a claim through my credit card company with a Christian organization Update: My dispute through the credit card company was resolved successfully. However now I am receiving emails from Faithlife telling me that my account is behind on payments, the email claims they have tried to work with me to resolve this (which is a lie) and that they are now forced to send this to a collections agency.
Lots of Versions
This is a good app to read the Word wherever I am but one thing - is it possible to make it scroll by itself? Because every time I put my finger on the screen to scroll it highlights something and although I can take this back off it's very irritating and constantly disturbs my reading.
Resources paid for not accessible
Upgrade to a new device has always been difficult, I still do not have all the resources I have paid for, despite many emails.
It ok.
Personally all I use Logos for is t read commentaries. I have tried other features without a lot of success. I do most of my reading on an iPad. It would be nice to see what book I am actually reading up the top when I have several opened.
👍🏾👍🏾👍🏾👍🏾👍🏾👍🏾
Thumbs up.
Automatic resource download
It keeps downloading resources that I don’t need now. My mobile phone lacks of storage but this app automatically downloads thousands of books again and again even though I delete and install
New citation style
I understand this could be useful for some but it seems there’s no option to have the old style of referencing which just included the title of book, chapter, verse and version in a simple format
Lacking
Logos has some powerful content but the User Interface makes it painful to access and work with in depth. If you want a simple Bible reader, fine. If you want to do more in-depth Bible study, it makes you a little sad inside.
God bless you
It is good, but it just needs facelift and add new Bible thank you and God bless you
