Great but needs routine plurals
Buyer beware it Shows adds even after purchase!
I paid for the full version $9.99 German Dictionary & Translator + Guess what? After "translating more than 12,000 characters" the app informs you that you've translated 12,000 characters and ads will be show again. The description says nothing about showing ads after their limit of 12,000 characters. Do I feel cheated? You bet! Silence from the author when I challenged them on this. They need to update their description and be honest that you are not getting unlimited use of their app when you buy it!

This software really needs a dark-mode option.
Poor
Based on the many wonderful reviews I purchased this tool. On the positive side there are many features offered that seem to work reasonably well. If one only needs a quick and easy tool for searching very common words along with verb endings this might be ok for you. But if you are serious about getting a good German dictionary this isn't it. There are numerous errors in gender, spelling, and translation that make this utility confusing to use. On many occasions I've brought up these errors -- along with the serious omission of noun plurals -- to the authors. Their "canned" response is that they know about it and the next release will fix it. After six months I've never seen a new release.

einfach zu teuer!
Diese App ist leider nicht das, was ich mir bei dem vielen Geld vorgestellt hatte. Es gibt keine Aussprachehilfen, keine direkte Verbindung zur Konjugation (man muss dafür immer extra noch mal das betreffende Verb eingeben..), und es kostet ja soviel Geld... Ich habe eine wesentlich preiswertere und bedienungsfreundlichere App gefunden. Nun tut mir wirklich das Geld für Ascendo Leid! Und ich würde tatsächlich jedem abraten, diese App zu kaufen. Christa
Useful translations
Often good translations; however sometimes too literal: eg, “hairdryer” was translated as “Haar trockener” und eigentlich ist es als “Fön” normalerweise übersetzt.

LACKS GERMAN NOUN PLURAL FORMS- HUGE FLAW!
I love the app except for one glaring flaw and one minor issue. First, the glaring flaw - it does not provide plural forms of German nouns. Since these forms are irregular, they are essential to have in a dictionary. The minor issue - it could have more words. I regularly get no result when searching for less common German words. There is no limitation of physical space. Add more words please! If these two flaws were fixed, I’d give this five stars.
Excellent app
I find this app very useful, much better than others I've used. Translations are accurate, verb conjugations are really helpful, and the dictionary is extensive. Noun plurals would be very helpful in Dictionary,
Ok but needs work
First be aware that this $10 app contains ads. Tap on the globe icon to see ads for hotels and other junk. It should have been stated that even after paying you will still get ads. Another weird thing is the list that comes below a dictionary lookup. This list can be quite incomprehensible. You type an English word to get the German. Ok so far. Below the German is another list of words which can have zero connection with the original. Example: look up "glass" to get "glas". Underneath this entry is the entry "stoff : glass". If you click on stoff to see the connection--well you can't. You enter it in the dict to find it means "stuff". What's the connection? You tell me! There are zillions of similar examples. I do like the pronunciation features though and the app is easy to use for the most part.

Wonderful app! Not only is it a comprehensive dictionary, I use it often to check my pronunciation!
Lot's of missing words.
Bizarre in that even simple words are not in this dictionary. Get others instead like bab.la.
Excellent app
My favorite aspect of this app is that it will allow you to enter a conjugated form of a verb and it will then provide the infinitive. A standard dictionary doesn't have this feature. I also like the many examples it provides for a word so you can see the various ways a word is used. I do find it odd and a bit frustrating how few entries there are for German words that begin with the letter "z." But this is a minor issue compared to the excellent value this app otherwise provides.

Multi-lingual
I love the company that puts out this app. They have one for Italian which has helped me learn that language, and now I am trying to learn a second language, German. Absolutely nothing has helped me in my studies more than this app!
Crashing
Keep crashing on my Ipad 2, iOS6.13 whenever I open Verb tab, how to fix this problem.
Very useful one big suggestion
I use this app frequently as it is very easy to use and helpful. I particularly like the phrases embedded with the definitions. Noun plurals would be a big addition however.

Quality app for Students of German
I am a retired school language teacher. I still tutor a few students in German and I try to suggest learning tools that appeal to young people. Apps are an obvious choice and this is one of my favorites. A lot of students are tempted to use online translators but those can lead to some bad habits. It’s important for students to use reference tools like dictionaries and verb conjugation tables to build a strong foundation. This app has a comprehensive dictionary including noun gender, multiple translations and usage examples. The nouns are classified as masculine, feminine and the neuter but it could be improved by adding the der, die, das articles. Verb conjugations can be found in the dictionary which is a helpful. Most dictionaries don’t include them in the dictionary so you get stuck when you try to look them up. The verb conjugations feature is the best I’ve seen. There are also some fun practice tools like multiple choice vocabulary quizzes and flash cards. Overall, I highly recommend the app to students and adult learners of German.
App crashes when opening
I loved this app but since the last update it crashes on opening. Can you please fix this?!?

Good app, conjugating the verbs is very useful however, the speed of pronunciation is way too fast even on the slowest setting.

Habe heute diese App gekauft und bin sehr enttäuscht. Es werden keine Sätze übersetzt. Es ist eine Menge drin was man überhaupt nicht braucht. Schade um das Geld was ich dafür bezahlt habe. Schon traurig so etwas als Übersetzer anzubieten. Völlig unbrauchbar. Kauft diese App nicht. Teuer und sinnlos. Der eine Stern ist auf jeden Fall ein Geschenk 👎👎👎👎👎.
Useful supplement to studies
Convenient to use. Quiz is a fun extra for learning while killing time during commute or other downtime. Mostly reliable translator.
Could be better.
No luck with first word I tried to look up; "unheimfallen". I thought it would at least have the same features as the free version, but it was lacking there too. Doing the quiz as a Canadian was interesting. There was some unfamiliar British terminology added that made it difficult to get a high score.
Super app
I rely on this app and use it constantly. I also use the same company's dictionary apps for French, Spanish and Italian. Well worth the small price for the pro version.

Good but poor sound
This is a very good dictionary but if you want to hear words pronounced, they are way too fast even on the slowest setting. Also, pronunciations which use online access have not worked at all for me even though I have excellent fast wifi on my iPad 2.
Thorough & Easy to Use
I’ve used this app for several trips to Germany and Switzerland- both to prepare for the trip, and once I’m there. I can work on phrases for common situations whenever I have a few free moments, and refer to it overseas when I need help with a sign or menu, or get some help when asking for something. I use it many times a day when in Europe. It is very fast and intuitive. Highly recommend it!
Enttäuschung
Die Konjugation nur für deutsche Verben. Schlecht und teuer. Aber das Schlimmste ist, dass man auf eine Mail keine Antwort bekommt!

This a great reference app when I'm trying to figure out a word in a pinch. It would be even better if i could bookmark words to my favorites and also customize the quiz with my favorites. I would probably spend much more time on this app. J

Love the verb conjugations and the ability to look up the conjugated verb and find the infinitive. I do find I need another dictionary for the words not in here and would be nice to show the plural form of the nouns. But a great app for the price!
