Best Library Catalog App
My wife and I are avid book readers, and we have accumulated over 8,000 books over the years. I wish we had discovered this sooner. We have been to many library book sales, and we came home and realized we already had a copy. Since we found CLZ, we’ve saved ourselves a lot of time and money by checking it to see if we already have what we’re looking at. Thank you so much
Authentication nightmare
“Seems” like a good app. For $20/year, it is clear that is a terrible deal since user account authentication is a train wreck. Search for something like this elsewhere.
First Impressions fantastic then I hit a lot of “not founds”
I found the speed at which one could add books was terrific. When I had a formatting error moving my Goodreads collection I simply pointed the camera at my screen where there were 200 barcodes. It just went ping, ping, ping and in a minute it identified most of the books. However quite a few of the books were not found and I came to the conclusion that the isbn database wasn’t as comprehensively full as it appeared. I also couldn’t understand why the “update from core” didn’t work to bring back the cover art without the barcode. It can find the books from title and author so why not provide a selection of covers. Early days but I’m going to pay the subscription because I’ve had $20 worth of fun from it. I just don’t understand why the developers can’t scrape data from the library of congress or the British library to get all the info of every book.
Disappointing
Not many of the independent books I have in my library that have isbn numbers are findable and i have to enter the majority of information myself and I cannot include pictures of the book, so it’s a blank cover. Very disappointed. Will start looking for another way to catalog my books.
Paid app.
Didn’t realize it was a paid app. Wouldn’t have gotten it if I had known, but I can’t say anything to it’s actual quality since I didn’t pay for anything.
Amazing App
Customer Support actually listens to the users and fix reported bugs. This is the best app to keep organized digital and physical books, easy to use, beautiful interface, fully customizable. I recommend it 100%, I have been using it for over two years and I wouldn’t change it for any other app.
Book scanner
Diese Software ist ein Totalversager. Worst scan app ever. It is not useful at all. It is only waste of time.
Very easy to use
I love this app the only downside I can find is that it is tricky to change the cover when there isn’t one.
BCCLibrary
This is a church library functioning since 2019 I think. I am 81 years old and work on my iPad to put in titles since September 2025. I have an assistant who has had to help me use this data base which I renewed January 2026. We have approximately 2000 books on the list. We have advertised to our church members how to get into the data base but I am the main user. One problem I am having now relates to searching by author for a title. I can see the list of books alphabetically and scroll down until I find the author I am looking for. Sometimes when I put the title of a book it is not listed in the data base, but I can find it when I scroll looking for the author. I thought that if I search by author, I should be able to see if the book is in the data base by author. My vision is good but I loose the knack of adding books and deleting them, so I have to go to my assistant. So you can imagine I get frustrated with the job. For your information, I have downloaded both the CLZ scanner app and the CLZ books mobile app as has my assistant Bev Penner. Thank you for asking for a rating. Uso la app da un paio di anni, in famiglia gestiamo librerie diverse in modo da sapere se qualcuno di noi ha già un determinato libro. Ottima e semplice da usare, solo in un paio di casi ho dovuto inserire un libro a mano perché non trovava ISBN nel suo database
LOVE THIS!
Have been hunting for a way to quickly and effectively catalog my home library and CLZ Books is the PERFECT app to do so. I was able to catalog over 250 books in under an hour and it helped me reacquaint myself with old treasures and keep track of what I do and do not have in my collection. I should’ve done this years ago. Thank you!
Warning!
You do NOT own your own data according to CLZ. They have rules which are NOT in the acceptance policy. If you sell a book in your collection, they can sue you If your collection is sold in an estate, they can sue you If you use nonproprietary data (ISBN info) on any website, they can sue you. STAY AWAY, lots of others out there that don’t try to own YOUR data.
Superb! Compliments the PC app
I have been using Collectorz software for many many years, specifically the Book, Music, Comics and Movies programs.When they introduced mobile apps that would link to your collections, I was thrilled. They work very well, the database that they maintain is quite detailed… It is somewhat rare for me to find a book that isn’t in their collection, and when that DOES happen, it’s fairly easy to submit it TO their collection. I am especially thrilled that the camera on the iPad or iPhone can be used to scan barcodes… When I originally set up my databases, it was a lot more arduous than now, using that ISBN scanning technique. Customer service, when I’ve needed it, has always been prompt to respond and excellent in their response. About the only thing I’d change in Book Collector mobile App (in all the apps, really) is to have the Subtitle of the book appear in the main list, as well as the Title. But all in all, an excellent product that I highly recommend to my friends often.
Überschätzt
Habe überlegt, die Pro-Version zu kaufen. Doch für einen Preis von € 16,99 erwarte ich zumindest eine deutsche Lokalisation, denn einen nennenswerten Mehrwert gegenüber anderen Apps sehe ich hier nicht. Daher bin ich jetzt beim (deutschsprachigen) Wettbewerb.
A must for book lovers with a library
Being a true book idiot with more than 2000 books in my library I am using CLZ books on all my platforms. Started many years ago with the database Book Collector on Windows. Now since at least 5 years also on my iPhone and iPad. Very reliable tool suite, a must for booklovers and Alwin and his crew are working on improvements. Always my library overview with me. Fast and data access through the cloud. Thanks and kudos to the team from a grateful user. 5 stars are really deserved!
Indispensable
I recently purchased the CLZ Book app and it’s fast becoming another CLZ favorite (I’ve used the Music and Movie apps for many, many years). Hundreds of books are now in a manageable data base with no more physically searching shelves and stacks to see what I have, making it easy to check that I’m not purchasing another copy of a title.

The Best Cataloging Apps...But Difficult to Recommend
I use 3 of CLZ’s cataloging apps for iOS (Movies,Books and Games). They are by far the best cataloging apps I’ve used. You can add titles by scanning barcodes or ISBN numbers in the case of Books. On the odd chance a book isn’t found it’s super easy to add. You can also sort by a number of categories, add sort titles to books (one of my favourite features), quickly search and find the stuff in your collection. It’s also super customisable, if you need to change info for a title. Now CLZ is subscription based, now it used to cost a flat fee...I bought all three apps at a flat fee in a bundle where each was roughly equivalent to a years subscription of £12-15. I still get all the functionality I had before the apps went subscription based, but not access to some of the newer subscription features, which is fair. So far none of the new features have tempted me towards the subscription model. The subscription model in its current state seems ok for what it is, I don’t think £12-15 a year is a terribly bad price...if it included all Apps and the Web and Desktop options. If you were to like me have 3 apps on iOS that’d cost nearly £45 a year (there are also comic and movie apps too) thats what I paid for all three apps total before subscriptions became the model. If you were to and the web tool or desktop app that’d be another £30 a year, EACH! It makes it really difficult to recommend multiple apps to friends. Sure if they have a large game/book/movie collection the one app for £12-15 a year is easy to recommend, but if they were in need of multiple of the apps and also wanted the desktop/web options it just becomes too expensive to recommend, especially when there are other alternatives that are cheaper, while maybe not having all the features CLZ has still will server their purpose for most people.
Abuse du payant
Ça fait des années que j'utilise cette application qui est vraiment très bien pour tout ce qui est gestion des livres. Énorme bémol, il faut payer de tous les côtés, je donne 2€ par mois pour les mises à jour sur PC et il faut payer sur la partie app pour augmenter le nombre de livres disponibles (100 au départ). J'en ai plus de 1000 donc je dois débourser au moins 5€ (pour 1000 livres).
ik mis iCloud backup
Werkt goed, zelf nederlandse boeken van voor 1980 kan ik vinden. Zou wel graag de mogelijkheid hebben om mijn database te backuppen in iCloud, dan 5 sterren.

CLZ Books - A Good Beginning for a Life Journey with Books
CLZ Books helps to introduce an order into a possible book chaos when you have more than few of them. The app has good visuals and presents, among others, book covers on each shelf placed front covers to a viewing user. I have still not figured out if there is an option to quickly place a photo or a scan of a book’s Table of Content, Index or Bibliography straight into the database, which would be handy. Also I do not know if there are options to export or import books from other bibliographic apps on the market.
It's ok.
For the amount of money I have spent updating the software and then purchasing the iPad app I would expect this one to be more intuitive and for things to happen now when I make selections. And is it too much to ask to sync directly with my desktop instead of uploading and downloading through the cloud?

Exceptionally good app
CLZ Books is an app I have used for several years to keep track of my library. It keeps track of and will search all of the relevant data. I find it easy to enter data into, even data about books that are unusual, such as facsimiles of ancient manuscripts. My only complaint is that it cannot read my mind and warn me that I am thinking about a book already in my library. It is my failure to check this app that has had me purchasing duplicate copies that I already own. So I recommend it - and I recommend checking it before you purchase a book.
No functionality
Yes, they clearly state it's not a standalone app, however charging $10 for something that has absolutely no functionality is ridiculous. After purchasing CLZ Movies and being very happy with it (barcode scanning especially), the inference is that the apps from the same company, at the same price, would have the same interface and functionality. Not the case here. It's just a browser to your book database that has to be sent from your computer to the iPhone. No data entry, no sorting, no barcode scanning. Nothing. Save yourself the money and just export your books into a flat file from your computer and copy that to the iPhone.
Great app, app icon needs work
This app is pretty great. I only use it to track the books I’ve read not necessarily books I actually own. I found buying books kinda of wasteful so I just borrow books from the library. The icon could be better. It looks more dated than the previous one.

Il rapporto qualità prezzo è sicuramente inappropriato, dato che si tratta semplicemente di un App per la consultazione. Ossia potete importare la vostra raccolta libri dall'applicazione per computer relativa, ma non potete effettuare alcuna modifica al vostro archivio. Come se non bastasse le informazioni visualizzabili sui libri, da voi inserite nell'archivio su computer, non saranno neanche completamente consultabili dall'applicazione, dato che essa filtra a sua discrezione i campi utili da farvi consultare in mobilità. In parole povere manca l'utility di SINCRONIZZAZIONE e andrebbero aumentate le informazioni consultabili. Questa carenza comporta sia che il prezzo non sia giustificato sia il fatto che la sua effettiva utilità sia drasticamente ridotta... Andatevi a fare una pizza con questi soldi, saranno meglio spesi!
Latest update overwrites database
Expensive but good until latest update. Onscreen icons not intuitive and it overwrote my database so I needed to download from my pc again. No warning.
My Go-To For Years
I’ve used CLZ Books (and Music) for years. It’s the simplest way I’ve found to keep track of my collections. The camera driven ISBN scanner is brilliant. And in the rare case it doesn’t find the book I’m adding, the manual entry method is easy to use as well. Don’t let ‘simple’ put you off though. The app allows you to filter as many ways as you can imagine. Its ability to track books series is excellent and extremely useful for me. Highly recommended.

I've been look for an iOS app for some time to keep a library of the books I've read, so when I'm in a store I can scan the database to see if I've already read it. Very frustrating to get home and find out I already have a copy. CZL solves that issue. The bar scanner is really fast and adding my whole library was done in 30 mins.
Meet functies nodig
Op dit moment is het alleen een lijst van de boeken in de pc applicatie. Dat is handig, maar niet zo mooi als wanneer er terugkoppeling zou zijn vanuit deze app naar de pc. Stel ik sta in een boekenwinkel en kan direct wat ik zie op mijn wensenlijst zetten. Of dat boek wat ik net uit heb direct markeren. Dat zou het een 5 sterren app maken
Pas mal mais peut mieux faire!
La version 1.1 améliore beaucoup l'appli qui était presque inutilisable dans sa toute première version quand les titres des livres n'apparaissaient même pas en entier. Aujourd'hui le problème est réglé, les couvertures s'affichent bien et il est possible de trier les livres. D'autres champs seraient bienvenus pour avoir plus d'infos. Dommage que l'appli soit payante et si chère alors qu'il faut avoir acheté la version pc pour en profiter!
Smooth Transition From Readerware

De grosse difficultés de synchronisation
Impossible de synchroniser même en suivant le protocole proposé par le site, il faut dire que je n'ai pas été jusqu'à la dernière étape à savoir : le mode sans échec une solution un peu trop finale pour une utilisation "de père de famille" en cause semble-t'il le blocage par le firewall ou le routeur de la connexion qui s'interrompt avec une erreur au milieu de l'opération. Je pense que j'aimerais le jour où je pourrai l'utiliser

Over the years, I have used several database applications to catalog my collection of books. CLZ Books has joyfully surpassed each of them. I am completely satisfied with its intuitive look, feel and ease of use. I would highly recommend it to anyone looking to keep track of their personal library.

Latest update on iPod, but unable to get anything to work. App closes after 20 seconds or so.

I love Collectorz Books database on the PC but I am afraid for the money the Iphone link does not seem reasonable value. It is great having the database on my Iphone but not at that cost. Believe price should have been less or greater functionality incorporated. Overall, would like to see enhanced functions incorporated into a free upgrade.

Thought this sounded like the perfect app to catalogue the hundreds of books I have at home, but I can't get it to work!! It looks as though you need to purchase from the online website first to put the base catalogue on your pc, then this app should be free and should be advertised as a mobile read-only library of your stuff at home. Absolutely gutted and feel ripped off...
Book collector app
This is a great book collector app but I'm upset with it because now you have to subscribe to it and pay for it not happy with that so I'm now in the process of finding another book collector app that you don't need to keep paying for it then I'm going to get rid of this on .
