App shortcuts were there, I just didn’t check the settings.
Support was able to figure out what my issue was and give me steps to fix it. I assumed it was a bug in the app, but it was actually a setting. I hadn’t enabled so it was more than likely my fault.
It does not work well
We've had it for less than a month and the cameras have already broken twice, the door lock doesn't work, and communication to get a technician is very poor.
Keeps Login Out (App)
The app is good, but right now it keeps logging me out every time I close the app out. Please fix this soon.
Getting worse.
We’ve had this system for 4 years now, and there’s always been bugs with it. The website is faster than the app - I don’t know why, but whatever. My issues are growing with the app now. The issue La have been growing for the last year to the point now I feel leaving a review is my last effort to maybe get the app crew to sit up and take better notice. We’ve had the local security team reach out to alarm.com a few times about these problems but nothing seems to be better at all. Problems include, but are not limited to: no sound through the cameras, increased loading times (first on one or two cameras, but now on a lot more, even prioritized ones) 3 second time outs after the camera finally connects, recording late (with recording rules) or not capturing footage at all, not always disarming when the keypad is used for entry in the AM, cameras not keeping their history when you go to replay a past event… the intermittent issues are just as annoying. THOUSANDS OF DOLLARS spent on equipment and the base service is very annoying 😠
Can’t find payment option
If there is a payment option it is hidden so well you can not find it. And if there is isn’t an option why isn’t there an option

I have the doorbell system out of service because I was without internet for 4 days and no matter how much I tried to install the doorbell, it doesn't work, they agreed to call me between 24 hours and 48 hours to give me an appointment, the 48 hours have already passed and nothing at all
Bad update
App updated 2 days ago and I can’t access my security system anymore.

Getting worse
The latest updates for July/August ‘26 are not good. It is impossible to clear old notices that aren’t current (like a camera not responding) and it deleted all stored video clips without asking. They’ve implemented an annoying useless AI activity surveillance thing that is by default activated and sends alerts about the stupidest things. “Your front door was locked at a different time than usual!” - No it wasn’t, and who cares if it was? And lastly the new selection method for reviewing/removing clips is worse than the previous method - it’s hard to see what is selected and not. I don’t understand why they changed it? It was working fine before.
Apple watch complication vanished
I have the Alarm.com complication on the face of my Apple Watch and in the past few weeks the icon which is the complication symbol disappeared from my Apple Watch face. I’ve tried everything and can’t get it back. The strange thing is if I touch the place on the Apple Watch face where it used to be it still opens up.

Good app
This is a good app. It always works and has a lot of functionality. I wish the ability to “pause” a camera was easier. It’s a lot of clicks to go into the video tab and then recording rules and then scroll down to find each camera and pause them. There should be a shortcut for this. Any time I’m on my porch or in my yard, I pause my cameras so I don’t get a million notifications. Would be nice if this was easier. This would get a 5-star review.

you should buy a house
my apartment recently had these installed in everyone’s units and they have destroyed the wifi environment. my 5ghz and 6ghz channels are so crowded. i lost access to turn off and on my hallway light. the building will not be adding it to the app. i lost the ability to control my wall outlets that would turn off and on. this service is so much worse than the last one we had. this app has PROMOTIONAL settings that you need to disable. WHY ARE THERE ADS FROM AN APP THAT TURNS LIGHT BULBS OFF AND ON.

I had Vivint but their app started lagging when Telus took it over. I was not happy with Telus option so shopped around. After 4 months I’m happy with the app. Works well and only missing a few options I previously enjoyed. Nothing stays the same but like how easy it is to use and the interface

Alerts are annoying to track down.
I am getting alerts like “Patio detected a person” even when all the video recording rules are completely turned off. You need to start indicating on alerts which rule is triggering them. It’s insane trying to figure out your rules engine to find out which alert is which.

Enjoying the app so far , very detailed and easy to use my thoughts 1. Can we disarm the system from the Apple car app? As you pull in the house ? 2. Can we get an audible beep when arming the system from the app when in the house ? 3. Is there a panic button ? You can hit if needed from the app? Thanks

Its hard to send commands it only works when your in home i was outside the garage and its not opening for some reason

Hey there. I was invited to contact you through email to request this feature update and would like to see it implemented: Improvement request for Scenes: When I use the app, I use Disarm the whole system and Away the whole system. I’d like to be able to create a scene that lets me Arm the system in Stay mode and Force Bypass a specific list of sensors. It doesn’t look like it should be that difficult to support!
Easy and efficient
It’s such a user friendly system. Easy to use and no complicated useless features. I feel safe indoors and my house is well secured when I am out.
Too complicated
Instructions are not clear and need to be updated. Had to get clarity on how to get to Issues, per Alarm.com instructions, via ChatGPT.
APPLE WATCH APP
The app shows screens on the IWATCH to control the system which is a great idea. But the app dev forgot to include a watch face “complication” icon to open the ALARM.com screen without having to search thru multiple apps to get there. UPDATE AUG2026 Watch complication icon not visible on watch face. Tried update, and restart both watch and phone. Just shows dash place holder, tho it does open alarm control watch screen.
Secom alarm app review - poor
Incredibly slow to use. We have been logged out for no apparent reason and finding it difficult to log back in. The basic user interface for turning the alarm off and on is fine. The rest is poor.

Dans l’application, c’est facile d’ajouter un accessoire z-wave. Si on veut retirer un accessoire domotique défectueux, c’est impossible de le supprimer dans l’application. Je comprends que la sécurité est essentielle pour moi et alarm.com, mais pourquoi imposer des règles de sécurité si strictes pour des prises murales z-wave contrôlant des lumières ????? Si alarm.com permet à l’utilisateur d’ajouter lui-même des accessoires domotiques, alarm.com devrait laisser à l’utilisateur la possibilité de les retirer sans difficulté.

Disappointed
There are many times when the camera does not catch people coming to the door. I’m not sure why that is. But I am watching them, and the camera does not show them. I can also say that that happens with the driveway camera as well. There is no point in reaching out to that company. No point. I will be changing Surveillance services in the near future.
No more widget
Very often after iOS minor update or application update the widget disappears or stops working. For now it doesn’t exist anymore. UPDATE: finally it works after next update.

It seems very easy to use but I am not able to disarm without the panel arming it’s self automatically and the company was not able to help me disarm. Now I have to have a technician come and see what the heck!
Love the alarm system but….
The only issue I have is that I like to turn on and off my alarm from my car just out side my garage but on occasion the system doesn’t connect to my phone and I have to turn it off manually. This isn’t convenient but especially unsafe when I come home late at night and cannot turn off the alarm and then drive into my garage.

The camera does not pick up and record every time someone comes up to the door but it will record the neighbours tree when the wind blows. I am not happy with the quality of this app!

This app does the basic job but needs an overhaul to modernise it. Add widgets Add full fidelity support for the Shortcuts app Speed up app

Not Consistent
Every second day there seems to be an update . The app is working fast and then there is an update in the App Store. The update 4 out of 5 times seems to slow down the process of disarming or arming to the point that I have to go the panel to complete the arming or disarming. I’ve never seen an app has so many issues.

Love the new CarPlay app feature, but it’s a little basic to the point where you can’t tell if the alarm is activated or not. Note to developers, add a feature or icon showing if alarm is activated or not

It’s great that you can set each radiator at different times and temperatures but this app doesn’t give you a option for master turn on/off button as well as a master temperature option for all radiators. I would like to be able to turn on all radiators at once instead of each one. I would like that option
