Deezer’s AI stance made me switch from Spotify
After over a decade using Spotify and assuming I would have to put up with similar predatory artist pay and lack of transparency on any platform Deezer won me over. The ability to import all my playlists and most importantly being the only streaming platform that seems to be doing something about the AI slop that has taken over other platforms. THANK YOU for the Transparency. I’m telling everyone I know about Deezer. It is important to me that I support 100% human made art and this is the only streaming service that gives users the ability to do that. I just wish there was a toggle so that I could have 0% AI flagged content show up for me on the platform without having to go to each artist, then album, to see if it has been flagged. Even a tag on the artist page that indicates they have albums that have AI generated content would be better than having to click into the album- but I will take what I can get at this point. Please keep up the AI transparency and flagging - you are winning over many customers because of it!

I’m sorry for the inconvenience.” How about instead of a garbage, clearly AI response from an allegedly anti-AI company y’all try actually addressing my concerns. Fùčķ ŷœű, ćűņťš. Even with a paid plan my playlists were obviously my just suggestions, I was frequently interrupted by extreme outlier music which I can only assume they’re paid to push. They also try to guilt trip you out of cancellation and REQUIRE a reason before you can cancel a subscription or delete an account - so they hold your card info hostage for data. They also try to seem very anti-AI but rely entirely on a (strikingly bad) chatbbot for tech support. I would give zero stars if I could.

The app is okay for a music app, however the price is not worth it. It’s definitely overpriced and has less to offer than other music apps that charge less.
the queue system is broken
pros: is not spotify cons: the queue system is completely broken and difficult to understand. if you make a queue and decide to listen to a different song, you WILL lose your queue.
search function issues and beautiful recommendations
i love this app! it’s such a good alternative to other platforms. i most enjoy the way recommendations are curated and the vibe based on playlist or song feature has never done me wrong. my only real issue with the app is that the search function doesn’t work in the slightest, it says “this page didn’t load” no matter what kind of internet connection i have, or how many times i reload or update the app. similar things happen when i try to add songs to playlists. it might just be my phone being stupid, but these things are definitely frustrating. only to an extent though! i’m still enthused to continue to use this app for streaming <:*9
Really good features, just one minor annoyance.
This is an update to my original 3-star review: since then I’ve been using it more and some of the things that I thought weren’t working actually are, just not in the way I’m used to. Basically when I get into my car, whether I connect to Bluetooth or CarPlay, the music won’t start automatically. With CarPlay I can just tap the Now Playing icon and I’m back in, but with Bluetooth I need to hit play on my phone, so I just need to remember to do that before I start driving. I’m used to Apple Music, which just starts automatically, hence my previous review. Other than that, no complaints: the app works well, Flow is a great feature and throws up interesting things, and I love that I can upload my own mp3s: I’ve been listening to stuff this week that I haven’t heard for years!
Not User Friendly
I desperately wanted to like this app, based off of a few comments I have heard regarding the audio quality. I couldn’t even see what the app has to offer because of the mind-boggling decision of the app creators to refuse new users access until they fill out surveys. I should not have to click through numerous welcome slides, numerous tutorial slides, AND THEN be forced to select *ten* artists to “begin the experience.” Heads up, some people want to know what they are signing up for before, you know, actually signing up. Make welcomes, tutorials, and absolutely anything else other than “play music” optional for an app designed solely to play music. Save your time, save your frustration, and keep it moving away from this app.
Pretty Great
I would love if queuing songs were a bit easier, swiping on a song for example. Otherwise I love the monthly playlists and the quizzes. The discovery is pretty good too. ^^
Bad Experience
Tried to sign up but too many hoops to jump through before u can use the app. Can’t even try it out before signing up. What a joke. Moving on to a different app.
DEEZER needs something’s free
Can you guys make the songs free, and can you make it so you can play any song you want for free, and I’m not complaining about it I love the app, but I would love those things to be free!!! Ty
Ease of use
I used other music streaming sites. But this is by far the easiest to navigate and use. I particularly love the artist mixes of music. I have a high end Hi-Fi driven by a WiiM Pro. Which makes Deezer sound fantastic.
Terrible Experience, Waste of Money
I didn’t like Spotify cause it’s unethical so after paying to transfer all my music I got the cheapest $14 membership and whenever I try to search for songs on the app it says error loading which I know isn’t a connection issue cause I’ve tried other WiFi’s and the internet is good. So not only did I have to pay to transfer music but I paid for a membership and can’t search for any music even after updating the app. Waste of money for me, will be unsubscribing sadly
VOLUME REGULATION
From one dong to another, there’s no consistency in volume, a song will be much louder than the previous. Please fix this! Otherwise great service!!!!

Приложение нифига не работает как часы. Оно полностью сырое. Вылетает плохо грузит музыку виснет. База песен да больше но это не оправдывает сами баги и глюки программы. Прошу решить проблему с проблемами в загрузке и вылетом приложения. Так пока максимум 2 звезды

Updated review
Initially I had issues with buffering and playback quality. Then I was over charged. But guess what?! Deezer customer support is responsive and they remedied my issues. Special thanks to Augustin for following through.
Not free
I looked up free offline music apps and this app popped up. "No WiFi, no problem!" You have to pay $14 to download music🙄

Not worth the stress of customer service.
Have given this a 2 star because the music quality is superior to its competitors. However, I’ve had constant issues with offers/promos and subscriptions, just not worth the hassle anymore. Such a shame because their product is good. Also had issues 2 years ago, but gave them a second chance and unfortunately still just as bad.
App refuses to connect
This app drives me nuts, it randomly stops working blaming my internet (2.5Gb Fibre) that's working perfectly, I delete and re-install the app and miraculously it starts working again.

Awesome w/infrequent sudden stops.
When using Apple Carplay Deezer will just suddenly stop and there will be no songs in the queue. Happens about once every four hours of driving even with full bars of 5G. Beyond that nuisance Deezer is fantastic!
Good only because there is no better alternative
I moved from Spotify because they are not ethical, and was really disappointed (relatively) by Deezer. Songs will just stop suddenly. No reason. Downloads do not seem to stay downloaded. Podcasts will play in the wrong order. If I decide to pause for a second, I had better resume within 10 seconds, otherwise the play button on my EarPods trigger nothing. The default view on the Apple Watch is some menu no one cares about instead of the player controls. And you can’t even search a song from there. The first click on a new song will sometimes just resume the song I was playing before. And, very irritating, I get constant popups about how I can customise my library. I don’t want to OK? Closing that popup once a day is really annoying. So yeah it globally works, if you give it constant attention.
Great app but album/playlist art is blurry
Some album and playlist covers are blurry, and I don’t know how to fix it. The app can be slow as well, but it is improving with each update. Other than that, Deezer is fantastic!
For music lovers
I switched to Deezer from Spotify and I love this app. It’s so refreshing, it’s easy to transfer your music over, pays artists more and no AI slop or using our money for fascist bs. 5 stars

Car play messed up
I’ve always loved Deezer - far superior to Spotify and other music apps. Recent update completely messed up CarPlay functionality however - you can now only browse albums and artists by date order (rather than alphabetically), which makes it nearly impossible to find anything you want to listen to.
You’ve got to fix your shuffle
I enjoy making playlists for myself and friends. However, often when I’m listening to my playlist (that I’ve downloaded) the shuffle button plays the same songs when it has 167 songs to choose from. It’s infuriating. Please fix it. I really love Deezer, but this glitch makes me want to switch streaming services. So, I received what looks like an AI response to the above with an answer that had nothing to do with the problem. Just admit your shuffle button is glitching. Then hire someone who can fix it.

But don’t switch to Deezer. I wanted to like it, I really did. The UX/UI was so miserable that I started driving in silence to avoid using the app. I had to change the password and was completely unable to login to the app. The only option was to create a new account.
Free option is too limiting
The free option is… well, too limiting. Can’t listen to the songs you want, can’t listen to artists, can’t listen to albums in order. It’s frustrating, but I get that they have to compete with other music apps. My biggest issue is the premium ads that are blatantly ai generated. Cheap and tacky!
Such good sound
I tried deezer years ago and left because it was too buggy for me. Trying it again in 2026 and really liking the sound quality boost, ai flagging, and country selection they have added since I was last here! Nice!
Worst music app ever!
It wasn’t even worth the free trial. Any music that you add to your playlist is useless if you don’t continue pay the $15 a month for it, which is insane because your downloads only download in app, not to your phone. Once you cancel. You can no longer listen to them. SoundCloud & Spotify are 100x’s better at like half the price.
Needs automix. Algorithm horrible and battery drain

Awful Lately
When it works it’s fine. Lately, the app takes at least 2 minutes to load (even when offline, with downloaded music). When it does eventually load music already downloaded to my device it will still buffer. How? This has been the case on multiple devices, running the latest version of the app & iOS at the time of writing this. Been a subscriber of Deezer for a while and forgiven a few bugs here and there but when a music player fails to play music then what choice do I have but to look elsewhere.
Honest review
Ive been using this app for about a year and,Honestly it’s better than Sp*tify. I kinda like the music recommendations and how you can block artists if you don’t wanna hear them BUT the downsides are the frequency of the ads can be annoying. An ad plays after every third song even if you skip a song. Also EVERY time you open the app it asks you to buy the subscription which is also very annoying. But I like customizing my albums a lot. Not the best,not the worst.

it’s good but could’ve better
I like the app overall and love the fact that i could transfer all my music from other streaming platforms but the discover playlist and track mixes when you listen to a specific song are so meh. there’s little to no variety and some of the songs aren’t even similar to the original song i was listening to. the discover playlist never seems to be updated/changed it doesn’t really feel like im actually discovering new music at all.
Downloaded music not actually offline
I want to like Deezer because I can’t stand Spotify, but the one function that I really look for in music apps is the ability to download for offline use because I don’t have unlimited data. However, it seems that even if I waste space on my phone downloading the music for offline use (in & out of offline mode), if I don’t have service, they simply will not load. This is so utterly frustrating that I’m reconsidering my subscription. If this were fixed, I’d happily even pay more. But it seems like after googling, it’s an ongoing issue that hasn’t been fixed.
user unfriendly, artist friendly
I don't mind ads. However, it's very annoying and in-your-face that, unless you pay for Premium, you get a loud 30 second ad the second you open the app. Can't even choose my music first or minimize the ad so I can look for the music. The ads are also more obnoxious than Spotify's or Pandora's, playing you a 2-minute ad every 5 minutes or so of music. I use this app because it's the most artist-friendly, but it feels like it hates its users. Again, I don't mind ads, but it'd be nice if the way they're presented to users was a bit less obnoxious. Doesn’t even deserve a star
I download the app, I set up my account and I’m stuck on the “have you used any other music app”. I can click yes or no but can’t click continue so I tried to skip it, that didn’t work either. FIX YOUR APP
Pretty solid :)
So far, Deezer is my favorite alternative music streaming service after leaving Spotify - I’ve tried Tidal and Qobuz. It has a lot more features than most streaming services, and there’s a lot that’s unique about it. I like that you can share music regardless of what platform your friends are using and the UI is great. My only complaint is that the app doesn’t function great when it comes to driving. I drive a lot for work, and whenever I take a phone call or get out for gas, I’ll pause my music. When I restart my music after not using the app for 10+ minutes, I have to re-open the app, find the music I was playing, and usually start the song from the beginning, instead of it picking up where I left off. It makes it feel like a choppy experience for me. Otherwise, it’s an awesome app. I love the customization, the quizzes, the mixes, the monthly recaps, and the fact that the playlists are made by real people and not AI!!! I’ve discovered some amazing artists through this app.
Needs a few more key features
There’s a lot to like about this app but one thing that genuinely ruins some of the experience is the way your offline downloaded music operates. Offline music is the main reason to pay for a subscription so to me it’s one of the most vital features. So I am once again asking for the ability to listen to one music artists music while offline without creating an entire separate playlist with only that artists music on it. At the moment all you can do is add an artists music to your “Favorite Tracks” and sort favorite tracks by artist when offline. But that means you either listen to that artists music in that order every time you’re offline or you hit shuffle and get all the rest of your favorite tracks shuffled in. PLEASE let me listen to downloaded music BY ARTIST.
