- Free version offers many great features.
- Easy to use with nice effects.
What they complain about

- Portrait mode and tap-to-focus are missing.
- Video bitrate is too low for quality.
- Subscription model feels expensive and restrictive.
Great .. BUT
Hello devs, this app is a godsend but there is one fatal flaw. The max bitrate is WAY too low. As a filmmaker I use this app to color grade my footage to give it the film look but the max bitrate is only 68 mbs/sec… this leaves my footage looking pixelated on a bigger screen. Please update and increase the max bitrate ideally to 150mbs/sec thank you! I been telling everyone to get this app
Wants access to full album
Wants access to full albulm else it wont work at all? Ha. .im not giving some random app access to my entire gallery. Make it add only or make it run based on selected only.
Would give 5 stars, but…
I would’ve given this app five stars, but they didn’t add another sign-in option and I can’t sign-in with my Apple account for reasons. If you could fix this, that would be amazing!
Bugs
The app seems great in that the video effects and tools are useful, easy to use, and look great…unfortunately in my case there are some kind of bugs that are preventing proper saving of the videos, which makes the rest of the features pointless. Specifically, this happened with videos that I had pre-recorded and edited inside the app. When I saved the videos it said they were saved to the gallery, but were actually nowhere to be found—either within the app or on my phone. Strangely, it did work one time, but all subsequent attempts failed (the “saved” video disappeared). It seemed to successfully record and save video and photos recorded within the app.
LOVE IT but buggy 😭
I want to LOVE it soooo bad!!! It’s awesome what kind of images you can get with this app, but the constant orientation switches and orientation related bugs are driving me CRAZY! I would pay more for this app if only it didn’t keep doing weird things with the orientation and was a bit less clunky 😭😭
Amazing.
I am currently working on my first feature film. With little to no budget, this app does a pretty decent color grade. Has many options, and ability to change settings and save filters. I only use the free version of this app, however, it is more than enough, and comparatively to the countless other apps I’ve tried? Not even close. This is just such a wonderful app.
Horrible UI
Target area for the sliders & tone curve points is so small so you struggle. Gallery always opens in landscape. To charge so much money for such a poor experience is obnoxious. Contrast & WB are also difficult to get right. Use RNI Films or VideoLUT instead. Would rate this 0 stars if I could.
Almost perfect
For amateur filmmakers this app is brilliant and a lot of fun! The only thing it’s missing is the ability to shoot in log for more post pro grading, other than that I can’t fault the app, so easy to use and the results are great!
Опять нельзя купить
Приложение классное, но опять только подписка ( да и то, на такой странный срок) Очень жаль что нет опции покупки приложения
Perfect Nostalgic Imagery, Lacks Audio Synchronization
The visuals crafted by the app is truly divine, like we became Emmanuel Lubezki with just an IPhone. One problem though, sound is not synchronized, always ends abruptly before the clip actually ends. Please fix this error, and perfect the app.
Actually free
Exactly what you’re looking for
Ужас
Почему на версии андроида нет регулировки контраста и темных?! В Самсунге втором телефоне там загружая фотографию гораздо больше регулировок, а почему в айфоне нет многого?
I have five on it.
Simple. Your five star awaits, as do the rest, when you give into your destiny……..delve deeper for a small fee<3
The best of the best, but….
This app has the most realistic old school filters ever my only issue right now is the video and photo mode the buttons to pick and choose are to small, is there any way you might make it so that we could pick and choose if we want video or photo this would be awesome for being used with gimbals and or phone bluetooth shooters its a super cool app if you are looking for the real retro styles.
App is great but buggy
It was working great until i couldn’t see the camera image anymore. Haven’t gotten it to work again, but given that I can’t see any image I can’t take any pictures. But this is the best film app i’ve ever used
Help!
When I record video it doesn’t save it to gallery or photos.
The closest to 16mm I’ve seen, but…
Fantastic 16mm app but please can you give us the option to export videos in portrait orientation. Rotating the video in the iOS photo app harms the quality of the video. It would also be great to control the overall strength/effect of the colour grading. The app doesn’t work when I’m offline, it’s still telling me to wait, I’m on iOS 17.5.
Subscription problem
I have subscription but for no reason it is show me that couldn’t connect and ask me to subscribe again. This is little very annoying :(
The best app on my phone
I love this app. It’s incredible. Thank you so much for creating it. I wish I could buy a lifetime sub for it.
No subscription please,
Subscriptions are plaguing the apple store. How many times i can use it in a mounth, charge all at once, like procreate or so , max 5 dollars not more. I will buy , otherwise it's not worth it.
Awesome app!
Hopefully they integrate portrait style as well to make an absolute 5 star app. But for now personally 4 will do 🙏🏽
Great App With some issues
Love the app for taking pics, but whenever I record a video, they end up being super compressed no matter what I do. This wasn’t an issue on the android version of the app.
pretty much everything ive been wanting in a camera app
just wanna say this is the first time ive reviewed an app on here and i decided to review this genuinely because this app is amazing. even if you cant pay for the subscription, what this app offers for free is extremely rare nowadays. doesn’t seem like one of those scammy video apps that make you pay the minute you open it. because of that and all of these great features im purchasing the subscription so thank you. also would be very very cool to have a pause button someday :)
Love this app, except one thing…
I love this app, everything about this app is soo cool and easy to use.. however I find it so annoying that it won’t let me save videos using the 2.39:1 (Scope) ratio.
A hidden treasure!
Once I found this camera app, it immediately became a must have go-to app for shooting video or just simple photos. Its brilliant in its creative freedom, just tweak the huge variety of specific settings to settings to either create your own LUT or recreate a particular film’s look & style that you enjoy. The paid subscription grants access to everything & never gets boring, but even if you cant swing the subscription, the free version still has great features. I absolutely adore this app to where I’d even ambassador for it, i believe in it so much.
Good App
Overall the app is really solid. The effects you can use are great and the small adjustments you can make are really nice to get the look you’re wanting to achieve. The main issue is you almost have to use the app to record all of your footage. Any footage I’ve attempted to import and export through the app becomes choppy and loses a lot of quality. Not really useable at that point. If this can be improved, it will be a go to app for me.
MY FAVORITE SO FAR
Thank you for the developer of this app you are amazing!!!
Good app. Reds one or two features
Great app so far. Really pleased with the picture produced. Could use a portrait mode for sure as that’s becoming a standard orientation to film in. Tap to focus is a feature that I find myself missing too.
Sick
Pretty stand out app even with the free tools
👍
Pretty good but the imported videos come out blurry. (minus the fx)
Best App for Film looks! Some Suggestions
I love this app so much. The only thing is that I can’t use the 2:39.1 scope with 4k for some reason, it makes the app crash, or it doesn’t capture the video. it can do photos, but not video. i’m using an iphone 14 pro. if this bug could be fixed, this app would be absolutely perfect. note: i also bought the paid version of this so I could make a film for school, and if this is fixed I’d love to make future films with 2:39.1 in 4k!
Special App
The app is truly stunning. The details which the developers go into to recreate the authenticity of the old school film experience is second to none. However, there are some things I’d like to see added. Tap to focus Portrait mode videos and photos Reduction in subscription fee. This has become a barrier to entry for me. I want to support the developer’s effort to improve this app but that price point is too steep. I love this and I want to see it grow so keep up the good work.
