Not Impressed
I’ve had this app in my phone for a while now and I check back periodically to see if there have been any updates. The yarn selection is still very limited. Especially to those in the US. Besides expanding the yarn selection (maybe letting users add yarn info manually would help the app team) I would also suggest a feature of being able to select how many colors you would like in your color palette when looking for inspiration at their premade palettes.

Tried to rename a blanket but wouldn’t let me, tried to change the terminology to US again wouldn’t allow change. The bits that do work are great!
good, could be great
I do like the app, but there are ways it could be better. 1. Include the velvet and cheaper yarns like I Love the yarn, Yarn Bee, etc 2. Include an option for different hook sizes. A larger hook would use more yarn than a smaller hook. 3. Have an option of different shapes, such as octagon etc 4. An option for different stitches
Needs work
Doesn’t save progress. Will not let me change to US terms before generating PDF. Needs an undo button.
Colour update
Love this app but needs to update to include new yarn ranges. For example the new 20 colours added recently to Stylecraft

The yarns available in this app to generate palette with is for yarns commonly sourced in Europe! King Cole, Sirdar, Stylecraft, Paintbox, Rowan, Cygnet, Scheepjes, James Brett, Yarnsmith. So totally useless for those who do not buy the above yarns
Needs updating
First, “Sherbert” is NOT the name of a Stylecraft Special DK yarn, it’s SHERBET. Second, many SSDK colors are missing, such as Clementine. I suspect this is true of other brands. Definitely needs an update.
Love this app
This app helps me to visualize the many half-formed ideas swimming around in my mind. I love the way you can combine palettes to see if the colors actually work together and then generate basic patterns. I have no idea if/when the yarn options are updated, but I’ve had a lot of fun with this app.
Premium ?
Why would I pay you money when I have no inkling what this app is supposed to do? There is NO evident on install. Nothing to grab my interest or entice me to use the app, much less pay for premium. Do better.
Good, but could be great with added features!
So far, this is what I’m looking for in a crochet app. However, it doesn’t seem like they have a lot of the cheaper off brand yarn options (at least for where I shop like Michael’s and Joann’s). With that, yarn price (or approximate) would be a nice feature to see how much your project will end up costing with your selected materials. Also, for the granny square options, I wish there was something like a pattern feature. I hate the radial, but want it to be more orderly than random. As for the colors, it would be nice to be able to change the colors halfway through working on a project in a palette without losing your entire pattern by backing out. Also a timer might be a nice feature? Like you start a timer when you start a row or granny square to approximate how long it will take you to finish your project. Lastly, instead of dragging the colors each time to change the pattern, I think color selection then tapping each color would be better. Dragging 100 times is annoying. We can use two fingers to scroll and it shouldn’t be an issue. I’d love to brainstorm ideas if you reach out to continue to improve this! It’s good as is, but I think it could be more efficient.
Great potential
This app has great potential but it doesn’t work well when you want to generate a PDF.
I wanted to Like this app…
But where are Caron Simply Soft, or Premier Everyday, or even LionBrand wool-Ease NOT chunky? I had hoped that purchasing a subscription would add more brands to the filter, but this does not seem to be the case. Disappointed.

This app literally saved my life when I was crocheting my biggest project (a blanket)
Doesn’t work and No App Support
App still has a lot of flaws. I can’t even filter a yarn brand. Once the brand is selected, the window is frozen and that’s it. Writing for app support does nothing as they don’t respond. This app has potential and I would purchase the subscription if it were maintained and updated. The yarn database is not updated and is lacking a variety of choices for yarns found in USA

Zeer fijne app maar heb na de laatste update de nederlandse versie en daar valt nog wel wat te verbeteren (close betekent in dit geval niet dichtbij maar sluiten).
Good concept but…
Frustrated that the yarn brands are limited to those provided in the app. Couldn’t find a way to upload my own yarn stash.
It’s a shame that it freezes!
I’ve downloaded this app, but I can’t get any further than selecting yarns part. After that I have to watch an advert which then freezes! I have deleted the app and tried again, still the same outcome. I thought it would be helpful for me to sort out the granny squares blanket I’m working on now.

Recent update has seriously degraded performance
This app used to be great. The row counter feature was one I used all the time to save counts across different projects. This update has DELETED all my saved row counts and when trying to set up new ones they auto delete as soon as the app is closed. It’s now next to useless

Every two minutes - adverts for games I won’t download… really annoying!

I signed subscribed and paid but then canceled because I still got adds! Very difficult app.
So far I love this app
Haven’t had this app long, paid for the year. So far I am loving this app. I’m making my first blanket. I love how easy the app is to use and the PDF it makes you is fantastic , spot on, lays out the whole pattern for you and it even has instructions . Couple suggestions though I see right off. I would like to make a custom palette of my yarns . So let’s say I am making a scrap blanket with what I have. I would like to say I have 225yds of this color and that color and make a pattern from that. That is being knit picky I know but it would be a great help. I get a lot of odds and in yarns. Even if it was with the yarns already listed and just being able to add an amount , then make a pattern from that would be a great help. But I am loving this app!!!!
Won’t generate color palette in random mode!
I select my palette, select random and then select generate granny square blanket and I get a blank blanket!
Great app
I really like the app. It generates some really nice patterns. One suggestion I would like to make is to be able to create custom colors. I use yarns that are not in the list and being able to create my own colors to use in the palette.

Cancelled and still charged.
Still no response from Crochet Studio customer about my being charged for another year after I cancelled my subscription! I contacted them June 2024 and as of today (Oct 5, 2024) no response from them at all. Still no response from Crochet Studio about my refund! No customer service at all! If I could give them zero stars I would! I cancelled my yearly subscription for Crochet studio but am being charged for another year. I cancelled again and instead of refunding my money I am stuck with another year. NOT HAPPY AT ALL!
Recent update makes it disorganized and frustrating
I used to used this app a lot, hadn’t touched it for a few months. I came back to it today and it’s so disorganized it makes me want to delete the app. The yarn used to be organized by brand and color, now it’s just organized by brands with no option of changing the organization by color. This makes it really confusing and frustrating when creating pallets. Please change the organization back to its original formatting!
Another yarn brand
This app looks amazing, but I don’t use it because I don’t use any of the yarn that’s on there. I use I Love This Yarn from Hobby Lobby, and none of it is available on the app. If you could please add it eventually that would be great!
Excellent pattern generator
I recently found this absolute gem of an app. The pattern generator alone is amazing. Add to that the benefit of selecting actual yarn colors and then having each square detailed for the granny square generator…incredible! Plus this is the most user friendly and useful app I have had the pleasure to use. I have been searching for and needing this exact generator. This discovery has made me one happy crocheter. Many thanks to the developers.
No brands I need
Pretty much useless for me because not a single brand is listed that I use. Really bummed cause it’s a great idea and something I really need!
Intrusive Ads
I can ignore the flashy obnoxious gambling and game ads in the header area, but the random full screen ads with ambiguous close buttons that pop up often and shunt me out of the project I’m working on is a no-go. Of course you have to “subscribe” to (hopefully) get rid of the ads and access features that are behind a pay wall. Of course you do. Because nothing is really free.
Amazing
Overall this app is great. I wish more yarns were available like “I love this Yarn” and “Yarn Bee” along with other brands but the app does give great choices!
Drowning in ads
I get having ads for a free app, but the shear volume makes this app unusable.
Concept great, but can’t use my stash
I was really excited about this app, until I saw I could only generate patterns with the yarns already in the database. I have stashes I’d like to be able to use but the brands are not there.

No universal sign-in
I actually use two different operating systems for my phone and tablet device. I thought this app would be like the other “crafting” apps and allow one sign-in for all platforms, but it does not, or at least I don’t see that opto]ion. I know my situation is sort of unique, since most people stick to the same os for all devices, but again, all of my other crafting apps allow access to one account with one email/username, making it convenient for me to edit or view projects and ideas no matter what device I use. The developer can still limit the number of devices that use that login if they are worried about misuse of the app with the sharing of logins. Until, the app allows multiple platform use for one account, I can’t use it.
Not transferable
I paid for the Crochet Studio Plus when I was using my phone. I wanted to view it on my tablet but there is no way to sign in. I tried “restore purchase“ nothing happened. Not happy about that at all!
