What people like
- Chargers are very fast
- Cheaper than card payments
- Reliable hardware works well
What they complain about
- SMS codes never arrive
- Only one device login allowed
- Expensive if app fails
Doesn’t work
Extortionately expensive with or without the app. Though the app never works so you’re stuck paying the even more expensive rate
Needs fixing
Issue with paying through the app to charge vehicle when you assign a charge point then can’t disconnect until you reach 100% charge. You’ll never make it to the free car wash as the previous car was purchases disappear
Poor charging experience
This is a poor charging app. You can’t start a charge on the app after plugging in your car (pretty common at other chargers) and so have to return the plug to the charger and wait for it to become available. Then I started charging and it gave me a long wait screen followed by an error message. Returned to my car and found it was charging. This needs to be better.
Only one device
My wife and I have a shared email and also share the car so makes sense to share the app on our own phones, the app will only allow you to sign in on one device which seems pretty silly, many people share vehicles and accounts so why not allow 2 devices to share the app?
Location settings are terrible
Literally stood next to a charger but it says no chargers in the area on the map
Great in theory
Great when it works, especially the offers section which seems to not recognise the barcodes with cashiers.
VERY VERY SLOW
It’s not user friendly, very slow I only use it because it is cheaper than card payment.
Potential data breach
It is possible to access receipts from other users who share the same last 4 digits of their credit card as yours when searching for your receipt. I found a receipt for someone who charged up in Cambridgeshire while I was in the Peak District. Currently in discussion with customer service. Awaiting resolution to this or will raise concern with financial ombudsman. Also issues trying to get the Visa verify page to work when uploading a new credit card. It’s a real shame as the chargers are very fast.
Bugs bugs
Touch and go getting the app to display charge % while charging so unable to monitor whilst away from the vehicle or charge station ☹️
Log in ?
Wrong password ? Changed still can’t log in use BP pulse much better
Unable to log in
Creating an account should be simple, but it wants my mobile no for 2fa which is fine, but no text arrives with code and it then times out, tried several times with no success. Meh.
Poor
For a start, if you’re going to make me OTP via SMS, perhaps use a service provider that I presume isn’t rate limited so it sends the texts in the one minute window you provide? Fortunately I’m not sat at a charger and know how useless apps are so try to get them ready. Your network, or at least the charger I regularly use is great, especially with contactless, but now as your cheapest rate is through this app? You need to get this app together and working. Actually, the charger itself uses white text on black for the screens which is atrocious to use. The fonts are too small and the UI/UX isn’t that great, but it’s reliable. If you’re at least in the same office pass this on too.
Not good
Useless app ,tried a few times to charge my MG5 but never worked
Log In issue
Cannot log in. Keep waiting for my text that never comes
So bad - find another network
MFG is such an appallingly bad experience in the world of pretty average EV app and power experiences - that I can only say go and find another charging network rather than spending an hour grappling with an interface, which is impossible to use
