I bought Apple Arcade just to play the remastered version of the original version of this game after finishing it. I expected it would at least carry over my progress. It doesn’t. Just get the original and skip this “de-mastered” version. Disappointing….
Loved it!!
So I really liked this game and have spent countless hours playing it. However, one issue I ran into really devastated me. I had gotten a new high score 30k meters above my old one, when I fell into a chasm at high speed. However, the screen that usually pops up when you finish a run did not appear, and the screen just showed the chasm that I fell into. The run data did not save, and I still have my old high score, not the new one.
No new goals
This is a very good game and the new addition from the original is very nice. However, after importing my progress from the original Alto’s adventure, which I was at level 60 (game completion), and from there unlocked Pitu but still haven’t gotten new goals. I don’t know if the ‘20 new goals’ were supposed to come with the character but everytime I check to see if they are there it still says “Congratulations! You have completed all the goals!” even though I haven’t had any new ones since importing my progress. This is very disappointing considering I was only playing for the extra challenges.
Skip missions.
An enjoyable game, albeit repetitive at times. Some missions are rather annoying, such as grinding on 5 rooftops in a single game. Not only do you have to do this in one go, it’s entirely RNG for when the rooftops will spawn. Furthermore, if you can actually land onto them. Would be nice to spend coins to skip them. Like every other game does…

I told you to remove the rocks and chasm’s the only way to escape the elders is if they lose you out of sight
Relaxing and fun game
Great game overall it’s very soothing and calm but sometimes the game sets you up for failure, for example there will be a rock at the bottom of a hill or there will be a jump that makes you land straight into a “chasm” (cliff). But other than the random annoying unbeatable things I love the game.
Eliminate the Patriarchy
This game has a male tribal leader (the patriarch) who tries to kill you. It’s so reflective of patriarchal power that it’s so wrong. Also it’s impossible to fly with the wing suit for the length the game wants. I’ve tried over 100 times. I’m about to delete the game for these two reasons.
Pitu not working
Though the game is very enjoyable, it’s frustrating that Pitu once selected doesn’t appear on player list
Childhood Classic
I played this game at an AT&T store and I loved it. It was the first mobile game I purchased with actual money and I never regretted it. Coming home from school and relaxing on my queen sized bed with this game in my hand made me feel like I was up in the mountains sliding down slopes with Maya. The physics are so satisfying and I love picking up speed. Over the years I have grown tired of it as it can get repetitive after you’ve unlocked everything. I’m glad this game was updated though. The additions are very appreciated. My only wish was if you could map the glide button to the other side of the screen so I can play it with one hand (I vaguely remember this game having a haptic feedback button to solve this and I hope they bring it back). Also, omg I wish I grabbed one of those physical llamas when I had the chance haha. Thank you for all the years, Snowman.
Flawed
It’s very obvious that jumping off a flat spot will generate way more jumping distance than if you jump off a RAMP. How does it make sense that flying through the air slows you down???

I am one of the people who likes this game but it has some bad parts and one of them is the elder in the game that is not good can you please tell me how you can fix it please thank you.

Good for passing time
Decent game for passing time, my only feed back would be that it seems to spend more time in night mode than day mode. Anyone with vision issues might struggle to play this game even with brightness on full.
Snowy but loved
Well I’m back for round two of alto if you don’t know me I’m a person who loves these games and reviewed all of them any way just like the other one I felt like I was the serf and loved the characters abilities and art and how to get them well I think that’s all for me until next time see ya
Night mode ruins game
All the night mode does is camouflage rocks. It serves no purpose at all. Screen is too dark and can’t make out obstacles. Also, there is no leveling up. Why not? Make some goals.

Requires too much luck
This is yet another endless runner where success depends not on your skill but with the seed from an RNG. Great runs can be endeavors by obstacles that are literally impossible to avoid. This is terrible game design and saps any semblance of fun from it.
Boring
Ive never written a review before but I just don’t understand why people love the game. I’ll give it 3 stars for graphics but the game play is just not there. It’s so so boring. I can understand how it can be a relaxing game but it’s also frustrating when you want to see a little action and try to do a mediocre flip and fail because the level design rng doesn’t give you big cliffs or actively change and render based on your characters movement. Why not let me have fun in the game? Only one control with only one trick and the same level time and time again. There is no “challenge” other than not dying which isn’t very enticing.
LOVE IT!!!! One problem though.
I love this game. I play it to relax and to have fun. It’s good but whenever you have the hover power and it ends with a rock right in front of you, you can’t jump so you just die. But other than that, I LOVE THIS GAME!!! I recommend it to everyone!!!!
Jumping chasm is very difficult
It was fun but the task can be hard specially jumping the chasm is very difficult and their need to way not to Wake up elder guy .. repetitive game can get boring ..

Overall good game
Overall good game, worth the download, but I wanted to share some thoughts. I like the concept and the zen nature of the game, but wish there were a bit more challenge/reward aspects to it. I took one look in the shop and realized I wasn’t playing for any of that stuff, so I’m pretty much only playing for fun at this point, not to progress at all. It would be cool if you could upgrade things in the shop such as your backflip speed, your goggles/vision to see rocks easier, upgrade your board or strength to jump higher, etc. I also think it would be cool if you could front flip using the right side of the screen so you could have a chance to even yourself out and stick song landings that you currently cannot

Looks good but poor gameplay
It’s a simple snowboarding game. One major fault, there are rocks that you have to jump over. Frequently they are completely hidden behind buildings or trees. This means they are impossible to spot. Really annoying flaw of a lovely game.
Very good game but…….
It is a very good game but it is never loads quickly like alto’s odyssey and its not letting me even go into the app right now so it is still a very nice and beautiful game but it does have some bugs. So please fix the bugs, Thank you!

Schön gestartet und fürn Abend echt entspannend. Leider wird’s auf Dauer sehr öde, da man nur einBeck Flip machen kann , nichts anderes, macht auf Dauer keiner Spaß. Wäre schön paar mehrMoves einzubauen.

Great but can’t complete goals anymore
Like all Alto games, this great - high production value, beautiful, and both soothing and fun to play. However, I'm now at level 24, and I can't seem to compete goals anymore, lost or main. Given that completing goals is half the incentive to play, that's a pretty disappointing/frustrating bug.
Annoying
Too hard to see obstacles when it is evening/night in the level. Tapping the screen often results in no response and requires a second tap. The audio and visuals are very nice, but the gameplay doesn’t feel good. Running on an iPhone13.
Doesn't support Xbox Series X controller
This states that it supports controllers, but I've tried with multiple controllers on an M1 Max MacBook Pro and the best it can do is skip the loading screen. Otherwise, there's no menu navigation or in game controls.

This is an awesome game. The graphics are absolutely fantastic and stunning, and I love playing zen mode if I want to take a break from completing missions. The music in the regular mode is so good and I love that you can turn it off and play music from another app. Overall, I would definitely recommend this app to anyone who wants a soothing but exciting game at the same time!
Crash
The game was always freezing and crash. So bad!
One Word: Pitu
The game is a great successor to the Lost City. I love how smooth it runs at 120 fps. But once you unlock Pitu the game turns to easy mode. I unlocked him at level 14 or 15 and sprang to level 20 in one sitting. Almost all the Lost Goals require him. He doesn’t trigger any of the Elders and he gets to reset after crashing. Additionally, his backflips are Whirlwind backflips that take him further and higher than other characters. It kinda turns the game to easy mode and leaves little reason to play as other characters. It’s still fun to play in Zen mode and go forever essentially but the challenge feels removed after getting Pitu.

Beautiful update
After really enjoying the update to Odyssey, I was a bit unsure how well an update to Adventure would work. But Snowman smashed it out of the park. The extra content in this game is even more satisfying than The Lost City! 🏂 One small room for improvement is the framerate, which drops frames like crazy from time to time, even on an M1.
Game bug
Level 32 complete 200m in a wing suit. Is bugged. I can go 2000m and it never completes.
When is the new game releasing?
I played Lost City and really enjoyed it. While the higher level missions could get really grindy due to there luck based nature, overall the game really promotes a “flow” that could be relaxing and interesting. Seeing that a new game was releasing I was quite excited to see how they’d change up the gameplay and what new characters they’d release. Unfortunately, this “new” game didn’t add anything. Even the snow looks like sand. Honestly it would’ve made more sense if this was just an update to the previous game, like a new game mode.
Pitu
I really like this game but pity feels a little pay to win. I finished all of his lost goals and only play him if I am really bored because he hardly ever dies and when he does he can just revive. But I really like the maya character because the flipping capability it INSANE. Worth it, especially if you don’t want to spend money on the original.
One star for accessibility
It’s really, really hard to see the screen when it goes to night time in the game and makes it basically a game of luck that you don’t hit a rock that you can’t see. There should be a mode where you can either make it always day or just be brighter. Not everybody has 20/20 vision.
Better now that it’s updated
I initially reviewed the game negatively but my problems with it have mostly been fixed in updates. However, I realised that some of the things I didn’t like aren’t problems with the remaster, they’re problems with the original game, which (IMO) is good but just not as good as the sequels. Still a fantastic series and now the only game(s) I play on my phone.
A step backwards
I love an Alto game as much as the next person - more, probably. But this is like playing a rough preliminary draft of Lost City. If the two titles had been released on Arcade in what I assume to be their original order I’d have cheered them both to the rafters - but coming to this after finishing Lost City it feels rough and lacking in both polish, poise and point.
