Perfect app
I was just thinking that we need an app to easily identify our people’s businesses and I found the perfect one. This is how we stay connected and stay Black!!

Out of the 31 business listed in my area over half are Asian owned and operated.
Can’t verify phone number
Keeps giving internal error I would like to try the app but if I can’t verify my phone number then I’ll have to go back and change this review

Hire me to Fact check because this is insane
It seems as if this is an issue others are having where businesses are on the app that are NOT black owned. Please if you’re using AI to screen them or to approve or deny business’s i implore you to use a real person. I don’t know if either businesses can request to be on the app or someone searches for black owned businesses to feature on the app but they are 100% NOT doing their job because majority of these are not black owned in my area. And all it takes is either a 2 minute google search on the owners or just being a local to know. So my suggestion is to hire me so i can do the leg work. This is an amazing app that could really make a difference for black owned businesses if it wasn’t flooded with all non black owned businesses.
Underwhelming
Idk if it’s where I live, but the options are very underwhelming. I mean, goodness. Nothing I use on a day to day, shows up. But as I stated earlier, it may be my location.
Needs more Consistent updates
app is neat, but its outdated providers listed. Places have closed down and no longer in service.

Extremely Deceptive
There are maybe one or two Black owned businesses. Many of them are Mexican restaurants, white owned and they even listed the mall down the street from me as Black owned, DELETING!
Inaccurate Info
Lots of white-owned businesses listed and black owned businesses missing. You can report inaccurate listings, but cannot find a way to nominate businesses that are missing. Not as useful as EatOakra app.
Difficulty Setting Up
It took a long time to get the verification code to set up my profile. By the time I got it, the code wasn’t accepted. Please fix. I want to use this app!
Great App
Love the concept and I love the UI. I think adding a search functionality would be great.
Can’t open
Not happy with it at all when I tap on a product all it did was blank. Nothing never came up and I have a iPhone 14.
I love that it is trying to help black owned businesses.
I feel that it really is an inspiring app, though it is non-consistent. I tried to search anywhere from make-up to restaurants, but all I got was “Sorry we don’t have that here…” and the worst part is that they did have it. It is a beautiful concept but, they don’t keep their word very well. This app is definitely a work in progress.

The app doesn’t work.
The app is buggy and doesn’t work. I’ve clicked on products and I get stuck on a page with the Blapp icon. I’ve had to get out of the app entirely and start over. Frustrating.

Super disappointed.. I was super excited about this app & finding and supporting black owed businesses.. a lot of them were but many of them weren’t as well which really sort of made more work for the users.
Most businesses shown aren’t Black owned
I can imagine that verifying and keeping up to date with Black owned businesses is a challenge, and unfortunately this app proves this to be true. The first several restaurants listed near me were found to not be Black owned at all. As I scrolled through the list, the insufficient algorithm pulls up anything with the word “Black” in the name; “Black Bear Diner”, “Black Eyed Pea” etc. Also, the app seems to favor mostly restaurants. What’s clear is that the creators of this great idea do not yet have the structure or bandwidth to make sure that what’s listed on their app are in fact Black owned businesses. That being said, I was able to find several Black owned restaurants that I was not aware of after opening the app (which was better than a Google search), so I’m giving this app a generous 3 stars. The problem, of course, is that I can’t trust what the app is telling me, so I have to do the research for each listed business myself, which is what I was hoping the app would do for me. I am grateful someone has endeavored to create something like this, so I am rooting for their success and will try to continue using the app and flag the non-Black owned businesses along the way (which we do have the capability to do in the app) so their list can hopefully become more accurate along the way.

Not accurate
I think this is a great idea… but I live in a small town and know a ton of local business owners. A LOT of white owned businesses are featured on this app in my area.
Sabotage
There’s some kind of sabotage going on because I saw your spot on my local news and I downloaded the app. I’ve attempted to create a profile for 2 days now and I keep getting an error message stating the app cannot “save up my profile”. Smh the devil is always busy but God wins every time!!

After getting my information the app goes to a black screen and stays there. I got nothing.

I believe nowadays in America as African-American also mixed. I believe we should showcase and do black and brown businesses and when I mean brown Mexicans, Hispanics, Puerto Ricans, Dominicans, Indians, etc., even Chinese, but I know y’all get the point. They’re in our community just as much as we are.

Please please please!!!! I’m just downloading this app after seeing it pop up on my fyp. I love this! But when I open the app, it opens the homepage with all your shopping suggestions and then goes black. I can’t see anything. Tried closing the app but it’s still not working.

Blank White Screen
This app doesn’t work. I signed up and then after signing up the app only shows a completely white screen. I deleted the app. I wasted time downloading and signing up. I feel like my life information was being stolen.
