AMAZING!!!
I am first generation Igbo American and I did not grow up with the language but would love to incorporate into my personal life and eventually my future family’s. This app is phenomenal with the way they break words/phrases down and make it repetitive in a way that you will genuinely learn and retain the information! No audio
I want to begin learning twi but there is no audio on the first lesson. I can’t even access the rest without paying for it. If there’s no sound on the first one, why would I pay to see what the rest are like? Very unfortunate.

Can’t access after update
The app won’t move from the page that ask for an email verification ever since I updated to the newest version. I have the fully paid version and this is extremely frustrating.
Informational but very glitchy
Im currently using the app to learn Igbo and for the most part the material is good. The main issue is that the app is very glitchy for me. Often I’ll open the app and the homescreen will be frozen. When I eventually get to play the videos the videos will be unresponsive to when I try to pause and the language on screen also freezes.

Only has the slang not the traditional language

Monthly price went from CAD 6.99 to 12.49 in 30 days; I don’t recall any alerts though their fine print provides for arbitrary price increases - this wouldn’t be a problem if the lesson format wasn’t so archaic,; you’re forced to sit through prerecorded lessons that mix sound bites from native speakers with generic instructions; you can’t try the next lesson w/o playing the previous lesson, really shows the assumptions the product team makes about learning styles - also, there’s maybe 10 flashcards per lesson, but they are not interactive; it’s just plays a recording of the anglicized word - if only Rosetta Stone had African languages … tired of businesses offering inferior products and justifying it with some sort of ownership claim; just make a better product.
Educational But Glitches
Not a great experience with the app due to it malfunctioning after purchasing a 1-year subscription. Requested a refund. Would not be repurchasing.
Very boring and feels alien making it hard to continue
I wish they could make it fun, like Duolingo or especially Memrise. It’s just too boring! How can someone be consistent when they feel like they have to spend hours listening to an hour-long audio with a white man’s voice in the background? I don’t understand; it feels alien. You should’ve at least used a local person who speaks English for the translation, but please, make it more fun. As much as I want to learn my native tongue, it’s discouraging. I’m disappointed that Memrise doesn’t offer Igbo, only Yoruba. Otherwise, I wouldn’t have bothered with you guys at all.
Finally an app for African Languages
My only issue is that French and Portuguese should not be included. Yes, they are spoken on the continent, but that is a result of colonialism. We, as Africans, deserve a place that caters to and showcases our linguistic diversity without colonizers being included. Also, please add Bambara! 🙏🏾

Very excited this app exists. I’m going to have to wait though until Wolof (from Senegal, not Gambia), Bambara, Solinke, More, and Pular are added (especially Wolof and Pular!) 😁
Unable to access lessons
The app closes each time I click lesson 1 to begin, can you look into it?

App crashed when I tapped on the “Level 1 lesson 1 introduction” section for Igbo language learning. Cannot do anything with the app. Kindly look into it

So far, not bad but content needs consistency
I’m glad I found an app where I can learn my native Nigerian language & I’m loving the content so far. There a couple issues I’ve noticed though like the spelling/dialects are not consistent. For example with Igbo, “Sit down” was introduced as “noro ala” then later in a separate course it becomes “nodu ala”. This doesn’t throw me off because I know there are different dialects but others might get confused. Another example is the match quiz in lesson one. How are you can both be “Kedu ki mere” and “Kedu ka idi” but only one of those are accepted as correct & it’s not the version that was thought in the course. I’m also not sure how this Igbo tutor chat works but it doesn’t look like there are any live tutors.

I realized Tigrinya was an option for native language but not for African language despite its use in both Ethiopia and Eritrea so I would ask if you could make Tigrinya a possible language to learn.

i couldnt even message support unless i had to pay upfront. as i was excited to see Twi was availabld on the app, i went to go make an account. i clicked on a lesson and it crashed. did it again and again, kept crashing. uninstalled and deleted my account right after.

When I started using this app I was kinda disappointed because there was no kinyarwanda option, and I'm pretty sure Rwanda is in Africa but if I'm wrong then sorry. Anyway this is a pretty good app afterall but I didn't need it anymore so I deleted it.

I downloaded your app because the youngsters in our house wanted to use it to learn African languages. Your email stamped 23 January concerning political bias about the Middle East is incredibly inappropriate for a platform that children and teens can use. You should be clear on the intention of your application. Is it a neutral language learning tool, or a media house choosing to share politically biased views?
