A great app and a super service
I am still discovering the app but I am confident the five stars is deserved! Combined with Navionics map, it has been extremely useful, allowing to set an alarm if you drag your anchor beyond a given radius. I found effective and accurate. The main challenge is manipulating your phone and the windlass at the same time when dropping the anchor. A matter of practice. And if you have questions the WhatsApp msg is swiftly answered and the problem I had was solved. On that basis seriously considering subscribing to support the app. Fabrice
Overall, great anchor alarm!
We love this anchor app and really want to give it five stars. As full time cruisers that were at anchor for two years straight in the South Pacific this was our go to anchor alarm. It has as the bells and whistles that are important to us. In 90% of the cases we’re satisfied with the free version. In rare instances we want the premium features and at a price of $25 for the year we felt it was worth it. We subscribed in March, but unfortunately we have not been able to unlock the premium features. A couple times over the past nine months we wanted to access premium features, unable to do so we reached out to customer support (at least twice) and our message fell into a black hole and there was no response. It’s possible it’s user error on our part (what email did we use? It was so long ago!), but we can’t work that out without getting a response back from Zenkou. Again, this is a fantastic anchor alarm, even at the fee base version. We just wish we could contact support.
Serious issue
I have discovered a serious issue that makes the app unreliable for use as an anchor alarm. When the iPhone is stationary on a moving boat, the GPS position can freeze for a significant amount of time, even though the boat is moving. As soon as I physically move the iPhone, the position starts updating again and jumps to the correct location. I tested this with three different iPhones: - iPhone 11 - iPhone 13 - iPhone 16 Pro Max The exact same behaviour occurs on all devices. I also tested Apple Maps, and it shows the same behaviour. What makes this particularly interesting is that I don’t remember having this problem during the last 5–6 years of using ZENKOU. This makes me wonder whether something has changed recently in iOS/Core Location or whether a recent iOS or ZENKOU update has introduced this behaviour. This is a critical problem for an anchor alarm. The phone will normally be stationary on the boat while the boat moves around its anchor. An anchor alarm therefore needs to detect the vessel’s movement even when the phone itself does not move. My questions to the ZENKOU developers are: 1. How does ZENKOU handle location updates when the iPhone itself is stationary but the boat is moving? 2. Does ZENKOU request continuous GPS/location updates even when the iPhone is stationary? 3. Does ZENKOU explicitly prevent iOS from automatically pausing location updates? 4. Has this behaviour been observed with recent iOS versions, particularly iOS 26? 5. Could a recent iOS or ZENKOU update have caused or exposed this problem? 6. If iOS can suspend location updates when the phone is stationary, how does ZENKOU ensure that the anchor alarm remains reliable on a moving boat? 7. Is there currently a setting or workaround that users can use to prevent this? 8. If there is no workaround, how do you intend to solve this issue? For an anchor alarm, delayed or frozen position updates are not a minor inconvenience — they can completely defeat the purpose of the alarm. I have relied on ZENKOU for years, which is why I am particularly concerned to see this behaviour now. I would appreciate a clear technical explanation and, ideally, a solution.
Boat Anchoring
Very easy to use anchor alarm system. Gives me flexibility in adjusting my anchor location. I have tryed others and find this is the easiest to work with. Dorla V
Licenses never work
As a standalone app this is a great alarm and it works very well. It’s easy enough to set and forget. However, I bought two licenses so I could watch my boat at anchor and get alarmed when it’s dragging. The app constantly forgets that I have two licenses and keeps popping up with license purchase page. For that reason alone I would say this app is not usable as that was the reason I got this app. Other anchor apps I have cost a lot less and work as well. Edit: After contacting support and describing the error message the team fixed the code within a few days and the app doesn’t request me all the time to subscribe again. On rare occasions it still pops up.
No funciona fácilmente
Ease of use
Great editing options, highly recommend using Zenkou
Be careful - DO NOT TOUCH
You charged me without permission. 60 euro. There is no way to access and there is no way to cancel. How can you be still in business? Please return my money back. You should not be on apple.
Anchor watch
Works well and gives peace of mind; can leave an iPad on the boat and check the boats position from my iPhone. Nice!
Frustrating
I have paid the 100$ for lifetime but it still tells me I need to subscribe for the features. We have paid for the live and yet it goes off constantly even though our boat has never moved.
Double charge?
I bought this app to check on my anchor I can’t fault that .But from what I can make out in order to use the service where you leave a second iPhone or iPad on the boat while your away requires you to register twice and pay twice?? That can’t be right can it , please help me clarify
Excelente

Cercate altrove.
Great app for checking position and monitoring when ashore

Works as advertised.
Once I had the iPad broadcasting to the IPhone, the alarm worked perfectly, somehow with more accuracy then the Chartplotter on our boat. We traveled far from the boat due to this app, knowing it would alert us if the boat moved beyond a user set distance. I highly recommend this for an anchor alarm.
Nicht nutzbar stürzt ab

App works beautifully
I had some initial difficulties with this app and became frustrated waiting for support… My misunderstanding of the different subscriptions. Once tech support in their time zone reach out everything is working wonderfully.
Finger weg, Betrug.

On anchor all went black does not work try another app
