Who needs a physical studio when you have Forma?
I love these workout they are challenging but also hold to the core classic Pilates. The only thing I wish the app had was some sort of tracker for the series to say “you’re 50% of the way through the series” just to keep up motivation. I don’t need the thousand of reminder that other fitness apps seem to have. Forma speaks for itself in that so no need for it.
Mixed feelings
I used to like this app more when it was just the instructors doing the exercises. I’ve found that so many of the girls they demo the exercises with have no idea what they are doing and it makes it very frustrating to follow. The demo girls have terrible form and tend to stop part way through an exercise from exhaustion or they pause for correction. This slows down the class and breaks up my exercises that are supposed to be continuous to be beneficial. There are better online guided Pilates classes for less $$$. For the price I’d expect better quality and professionalism.
Variety for more advanced practitioners
I like this app bc it has a large variety of reformer. I mostly only do reformer which is hard to find on apps. Most other apps with reformer are too easy or the instructors are not good and not for intermediate or advanced practitioners. I used this mostly to supplement when I’m out east on my own reformer / tower but in the city I take in person reformer. The only thing I don’t love is it’s fairly disorganized and difficult to search. They need to take some time to categorize and tag. Also now a days there’s very few videos with the founder.
Disappointed update
I’ve been using the app for years and was hopeful this improvement was going to be much better. Sorting is not clear and easy nor is finding the newest released classes. And previous history isn’t a feature. Basic features would go a long way.
So mixed!
The quality of instruction on this app is incredible. Top level teachers and really challenging but clear workouts. My issue is that the price point is twice as much as other reformer apps (eg pilates anytime) and the search/filters/etc) are really lackluster so it’s hard to find what you’re looking for. If they could get peloton level search/filters/stacking capabilities this app would be worth its weight in gold.
Best Workout Ever
Believe the hype. So good
No Joke Sequences
I absolutely love the instructors and class offerings. I am new to home Pilates, not Pilates, home Pilates and these instructors humble me every time. A couple of suggestions for the app itself…..I would like to keep track of what classes I’ve done and create a calendar so that I may schedule my classes in advance. Thank you for dropping the price. It’s worth the investment for sure! I gave a 4 star, only because of the couple wants I mentioned. ☺️
Average
I wake up feeling sore most days, and I preferred the way my body looked/felt when I was doing Joe Pilates Classical Mat/Reformer/Tower workouts. I use the app because I paid for a year. I would recommend starting with lower weights and resistance bands than they suggest (so you don’t hurt yourself). I like that they use higher rep counts than classical Pilates. I gained 11 pounds (probably mostly muscle) while using this app— 119 to 130 lbs. I wouldn’t suggest this app if you like being long, lean, and flexible.
Forma App - Classes should have Instructor Name in Title
I love the classes but it would be helpful to have the Instructor Name listed in Title. I would like to know which instructor is teaching the class without having to click video to start. Also, it would be helpful to have classes organized by instructors. I should be able to do a search for my favorite instructor and then pull up that instructors classes. That is my biggest advice - being able to organize a search by instructor class. We all have our favorites/instructors that fit our goals. Having said that all the instructors are Great!!
Pilatesqueen7
Hands down the best Pilates app on the market. I’ve tried almost every trainer and they never disappoint. The transitions are quick, the sequences is dynamic and you are always left accomplished and feeling sore in the best way possible. Definitely worth the price, Forma is worth the hype
Great App with good variety
Love this platform and the variety of workouts it has. Can take this anywhere in the world and have a workout available. Only suggested improvements would be to be able to search for a workout based off the props used for the mat workouts and to creat your own playlists.
So expensive
£40 a month is not very accessible for people who workout at home. Especially when there’s so many other well established fitness apps available at a much lower cost. Looks like there’s some good workouts on here but can’t get over the price, please reconsider your subscription costs.
Easy to use, wish there was tracking
Wish there was way to show my history and track my progress. But pretty easy to use and works well overall.
Hard Stuff, Easy to Follow
Wow, my core has never been stronger. I am lucky that I have a reformer at home but interestingly enough, I find myself doing the mat classes more often just because I can do the workouts anywhere. Thankful for this app!
Great content but app missing a few features
Ridiculously good workouts (10/10) Annoyingly the app is less sophisticated than others (can’t save favourites etc) Very reformer focus, meaning not really accessible to most of us..
