Great practice app
This has helped me learn Mahjong on my own. The hint function shows how to find hands in the tiles you’re dealt. I’d give a 5th star if the program eliminated the hands in the hint function that aren’t playable because of what’s been discarded.
Good Game
Players should have a fixed name so you can track the ones that are really interested in seeing a game all the way through. Some players leave towards the end of the game just because they aren’t winning and end the game for everyone else! Poor losers!!! If they can always hide behind Player 1, 2, etc. they will continue to be indifferent and not dedicated to seeing the entire game through.
Ads won’t close
After a recent update, the ads will no longer close. I have to close the entire app to play a new game.

What is happening????
I play this game A LOT. It’s glitching a ton. It used to be every now and then but now may entire hand changes during the Charleston and then changes back. I’m not taking about a few tiles. I get kicked out and when starting a new game I get sucked back into the previous one. This is just a couple of instances of what’s happening l, even in the last few days. I love this app but I’m giving it a rest for a bit in hopes that the developers can get a handle on whatever is geeking in there.
Good practice for beginners
I like that you can see suggested games based on the tiles you draw at the beginning. I am still learning the names of some of the tiles so a picture of the tiles and their names would be helpful for beginners. The Undo button is confusing. It doesn’t take you back one move.
Stays Open
Can’t get the app to close when I am done. Have to restart my phone to close it out. Deleting it off my phone.

Cannot See Bot’s Tiles
Suddenly I cannot see Bot 3’s tiles on the left hand side. Cannot play anymore if I cannot see what it is laying down. Very disappointing.
Overall great
This game is honestly addicting. It’s great overall don’t get me wrong and I’d definitely recommend it, especially for beginners like myself. There are ads every once in a while which I think is more than fair. I just think it’s kinda weird that doing no ads is a subscription, but since there aren’t that many it doesn’t feel like they’re forcing you to buy it otherwise the app is unusable. My only real gripe is that open multiplayer games don’t let me play in a Chinese/British form, which is what I learned and is pretty simple. But other than that, works great and a good way to pass the time.
Can't change settings
There is no place to extend the time between throws to longer than 15 seconds. One time an option came up but most of the time it's not on any screen. Also no place to change my name from just player #.
Pretty good
It’s fun that your able to play with friends online but the game constantly freezes or does not load at all for days

Ads
Don’t use this app. The mahjong was fine but the ads couldn’t be closed down and then came the classic ‘your device has been hacked’ one. Also you can’t undo a move.
Great Fun with Some Issues
Lots of fun, overall well made. Love the suggested hands feature. There are some issues with connectivity on multiplayer that affect the stability, but it doesn’t completely stop me from enjoying it.

Glitchy
Game fails to load sometimes. Also, with American Mahjong, you should be able to pick up a tile and display, however it did not allow it- it acted as if it were the Chinese version and you can only steal if you have Mahjong.
Nice app for newbies
New to MJ and this app has been very helpful for practicing. The ads are quite annoying so the subscription is worth a few bucks/month imho.
Closing
After the game ends it is impossible to close the app.
Pretty good but…
Has anyone else noticed how frequently the drawn tile is the exact same tile that the previous “bot” threw??? It’s too frequent in my opinion and it’s very irritating! 😵💫🙄🤔🤔
Fun but……
Mahjong is a fun and addictive game, and this app captures the enjoyment of playing. I like that it’s free, which is definitely its biggest advantage. That said, the app doesn’t seem to be designed with the player experience in mind. There are several areas that could be improved. Because players are anonymous, some people play extremely slowly, or the host may leave in the middle of a game without any consideration for the other players, which can end the game for everyone. There is also no option to call a hand dead, which can make games unnecessarily frustrating. Another area I would love to see improved is audio management. If you are the last one to join a game, you often don’t have time to decide whether all players have audio enabled. It would be much better to set this in the settings so the player’s preference applies to every game, instead of having to change it each time. I would love to see the developers address these issues and add features that improve the overall playing experience. With a few thoughtful updates, this could easily become an outstanding app. Until then, it’s still worth trying because it’s free and the game itself is always enjoyable.
Mahjong 4 friends
I love the game, when I play with multiplayer, when I don’t win it won’t let me stay in the room and play again, when I win it lets me stay in the room and automatically set up a new game. What’s up with that? When I lose I want to play again automatically. I don’t want to have to leave the room and wait to play with new players. I hope that makes sense.
Help learning to play
The app is so helpful learning the rules and how to play. It is especially helpful in selecting a line. Thanks for developing this App
Total rubbish
No instructions on how to select or deselect tiles!!!! only error messages. Total rubbish. This should be excellent as the set up is similar to with real players
Great for practice
I absolutely love this app but would also like to see a few changes. Can you include HongKong Mahjong. This game allows you to take a discarded tile from the left ONLY if you expose the pung or chow. I like this rule as it discourages players from taking tiles without first having the requisite tiles required. Also an ordinary hand can only have one chow.
Speed of instructions
The instructor speaks too quickly for a learner to follow… the lay out is good but…. Please slow down so instructions can be understood.
Needs
You should be able to save the suggested hand and keep referring to it without it going away!

It helps me pracrice between weekly games with my girls...love the new enhancements.. of naming bots on the side!
Errors
I’ve noticed quite a few times that the lines on the cards don’t match the pictures generated under them. When you try to play by the line, it doesn’t allow you to Mahjong. Ads are often annoying blocking the screen.

It’s free! Only ads are after a game. You can leave and comeback. I learned Chinese and HKOS on the app and only had to search a few rules elsewhere! Love playing multiplayer in a private game w my hubs!
A true mahjong
Great game. Closest to ‘real’ not matching tiles as in majority of games that call themselves Maghjong. Pity you can’t invite players, would the have 5*. PS I have a Mahjong group that I play with it would be good if I could invite these to play online
Too Many Ads
I love the game but there are too many ads and some of the ads are really long and repetitive. I don’t have time to waste watching ads.
App not functioning as it was before update
I was recently prompted to update the app. Prior to the update, when I opened the share menu and invited someone to join, the would be taken into the app on their device. After the update. They (or I, if I am invited) are taken to mahj4friends.com. This is annoying, because rotating to landscape shrinks the tiles. I hope someone from the app developers sees this and fixes it. BTW, we have uninstalled and reinstalled the app on both devices several times

Excellent - especially for beginners
This is the best mahjong app for beginners I have come across. The interface is clear and understandable. Cantonese and Uk,as well as American,variations of game are catered for. There are a good selection of characters and voices ( and not adolescent cartoons!) Speed of game is controllable and scoring accessible throughout play as well as at end of round. It has been brilliant for me.
Review
Game comes to the end of the wall way too often! In games with other people that happens rarely. With this app it happens more than 50% of the time.
Not enough variation
Frequently dealt the same times and play the same game. Very frustrating.
Great way to learn the card
I play in-person mahjong at least once a week and teach it, too. When I first started, this game was invaluable to help me learn and I recommend it to the people I currently teach. I still use it when the new cards come out each spring because it sees possible hands that I would otherwise miss. I think this app comes closest to playing actual mahjong.
Much improved
Initial problems appear to have been fixed and it now plays well. The graphics lag a little and it’s frustrating that only 1 round can be played rather than a full game of several rounds but it’s well worth downloading if you like genuine mahjong as opposed to the children’s match game. It’s not perfect and will hopefully improve more.
Hard to win especially closed hands
Been playing forever on this site and this year is very different. So hard to get a win and the computer almost never allows you to get a closed hand. Getting to be a joke and no fun to play. Sorry!
Recent Update Glitch
My app was working great until the update became available. I did the update and now the app won’t even allow me to view on my phone let alone play.
