Not worth it anymore

I used to get a dollar to amazon, then the points changed and now the rewards are the same as if you googled a discount code. Nothing special. And this update took the one thing the was still worth it - the calendar view of workouts. It’s how I looked back to see what I did over the month, but now it’s gone. App isn’t worth it anymore.

Calendar View Alteration

I’m a long time user of Paceline. Please bring back in calendar view the ability to see which days of the current week have been exercised on without having to fully click into the week. I want to please be able to open the calendar and see via a symbol on the calendar day if I worked out on a certain day or not. Bringing this back I think would help a lot of people feel more positively again about the app. The main use of the app for a lot of ppl is that calendar view and the ability to look at the calendar and see which days were worked out for the week and which days weren’t.

Used to love this app …

But since it’s gotten rid of the gift card option, I’m going to delete it. The options it offers to redeem points for do not have any options that work for me or dietary restrictions.

Getting progressively worse

I have been using Paceline for years. When I first started the rewards were gift cards to places people would actually go to, and then they did away with that in place of discounts for stuff most people don’t want . Then they did away with being able to see your friend’s minutes and support them and challenge them. Now they have the “social challenges” that the app arbitrarily decides whether its intensity minutes or steps. I’m actively looking for something that had the old features, even if there are no rewards, and I will probably be deleting my account with PaceLine soon. It is a shame because like I said I have been using this app for years and kept recommending it to people and now every update they do they change the interface and take away features that people liked. The only reason it gets 2* is because I used to really like it.

Meh

It used to be great. This latest update where you can no longer see a calendar and a daily breakdown of your minutes is frustrating. Add this latest update to the bad marketplace and I might have to find something else. The developers don’t understand the “if it ain’t broke don’t fix it” logic. Stop changing!!

Rewards are pointless

App used to have great rewards. Amazon gift cards were amazing. Now the rewards are like 5% off a retailer you wouldn’t ever have purchased from which is less than buying from the actual website and including shipping making you pay MORE for something you don’t want. This is not even worth it.

Bring back the real rewards

I used to love this app! The Amazon, Starbucks, and other gift cards (even though they were for small amounts) were a great motivator. They also had awards where you could donate to charitable organizations which I loved. Now the only rewards are for the Paceline marketplace. Even if you earn a gift card amount…you still have to pay (for example, they’ll give you a discounted price if you use a certain amount of points…not possible to pay for an item fully with points even if you have a ton saved up). I’ve been waiting for a while for the app to get better but I am leaning towards deleting my account.

This app sucks now

This app used to be one of my favorite apps. I would check it every day and look forward to getting the points. I would exchange them for target and Starbucks gift cards and it was really a lot of fun. Now, all of the rewards are not anything that I’m interested in. Bring back the gift cards and I will redownload the app.

Paceline

Initially i thought it was cool, but you don’t get rewards. the discounts are on over priced items. And there’s no reason to buy them when you can get them cheaper somewhere else. It has good potential but seems like they don’t currently update it.

Punishes Healthy People

So the data doesn’t seem to take into account healthiness and physical fitness, as that makes it more difficult to increase your heart rate, meaning the ranges it needs you to achieve are even harder to obtain, as if they weren’t difficult enough to obtained based on how vague the descriptions are in the app. Say you’ve got a 15min workout where your avg heart rate is 160bpm, the app will only count maybe half of that if you’re lucky, which is really a huge pain. The biggest issue I’ve noticed too is the “Leaderboards.” As you see people with insane numbers that make you question if they’re actually legitimate. For example, you see some people with almost 3hrs of exercise minutes within the first day a new leaderboard starts, which seems feasible, but then as the week progressed, you being seeing people with upwards of 10hrs, which is insane when you take everything into consideration. The fact the app doesn’t explicitly say what heart rate range counts towards exercise minutes for it makes it even more of a pain since you end up doing a brutal workout for over an hour to only be rewarded with a mere fraction of that time as “exercise minutes.” It just doesn’t add up to me, and the lack of a moving average makes it punish healthy and fit people and have them not want to use the app in the long-run. There is a lot of potential here though if the app gets things sorted out.

App Has Gone Downhill Significantly

I first downloaded this app a few years ago. It was a nice way to get little rewards for being active. Even if refreshing the app / activity every few days for a few weeks only resulted in a $1 Amazon Gift Card, it was more than I had before for not doing any extra “work”. Since then, they updated the app so the only non-Paceline gift card is Starbucks. Anyone with half a brain can draw the conclusion that the Paceline gift card rewards cost them nothing and aren’t a reward. It’s essentially a credit on something you wouldn’t buy normally and if you did, you can 100% get it cheaper elsewhere (like on Amazon). I’ve still kept the app because why not add $5 to my Starbucks app every now & then for doing my normal activity. NOW, I open the app thinking I’m close to the 25k points that were previously needed for the Starbucks gift card and I see they’ve increased it to 40k points (for the same $5 gift card). I understand the cost of everything is high but unfortunately this gives all the red flags that the app is going under. Nice while it lasted but certainly not worth a download anymore.

Raised Starbucks gift cards 66%

This app has gone through many changes over the years losing value along the way, but I just went to cash in 24,000 reward points for a $5 Starbucks gift card and see it’s gone up to 40,000 points. A 66% increase is pretty silly. It’s still simple to use just takes a lot longer. You can decide how much your data is worth. I’ll ride it out at this point but personally wouldn’t start new with the app with its current redemption value but that’s an individual choice.

Terrible Customer Service, Deleting App

When I first started using this app, it was really awesome and I hade ZERO issues. Now, over the last several months, every so often, I have an issue where the data is missing for a day and when I reach out with proof , they would manually add it for me. For some reason, I reached out a few days ago and am getting pushback stating it won’t be added manually with the nastiest response. On top of that, the 2 tickets I submitted were just closed without out reviewing, resolution or response by a Heather S, Customer Support Manager. She could use a few lessons is etiquette and proper customer service, horrible nasty attitude. Something that was once an enjoyable incentive for exercising has not become a hassle and no longer worth dealing with. Plus, most of the stuff being offered is just you using your point to get hostile discounts on nothing most would want to spend money on. The free gift cards were better. Using my remaining points, deleting the app and moving on. Don’t bother using it, just a waste of time.

No more rewards

I was using this for over two years and loved the gift card incentive for Starbucks. I have not had that for about 6 months so I stopped using the app and have no interest in the “coupons” since I don’t want to spend $$ for a small discount and pay shipping for a product. Really no incentive to continue.
