It’s more than a workout planner
I’d highly recommend Caliber to anyone. I’d say I’m recommending the whole plan more than the app. It helps you understand how to body works, has in depth videos on how to do the workouts, but most of all, it has trainers. And the trainers make all the difference. Meeting with them, learning with them and helping them keep you accountable is really what makes this program stand out.
Definitely not free
Per the add it’s free when I download it was actually only a free trial. The price is not that bad so I signed up for the free trial just to check it out and see if it’s worth it. When I clicked free trial it immediately charged me $19.99
Not for me
I’ve been working out for about 10 years now and never tried an app so this was my first experience and I really didn’t like it. It’s so overly complicated. I am only in my 30s so I know how to use a phone but I was basically spending half my workout messing with the app, it was really wasting my gym time. Have you ever heard of cognitive overload? So overwhelming all the different screens, buttons, small fonts at time. Didn’t work for me at all and their contact us button didn’t work either so I couldn’t even get help. Canceling my free trial now. The app itself is built really well, great job developers. UI/UX could use some work
It’s okay
Free version is okay but you really can’t do too much at all with it without the premium version. Probably be better off just googling some plans if you don’t want to pay. Not bad though
Caliber plus
Great app, it really helps keep me motivated to go to the gym. My only suggestion is that they allow the free version to make custom workouts. I currently can’t track my Plyometrics on the app, and would love to be able to do that. Maybe you could add plyometric workouts to the app?
Excellent
I really like the Caliber app. It’s super easy to use and tracks your workouts and nutrition. I like having weekly calls with your coach and the additional support. I highly recommend Caliber.
Scam likely
It’s not free like they said it was In The ad
APPLE WATCH SUPPORT
Really enjoy this app. It’s super user friendly and I love that most of the features are available without paying for a premium plan. BUT PLEASE MAKE IT SO THE APP CAN LINK WITH APPLE WATCHES. EVEN IF ITS JUST DISPLAYING THE REST TIMER PLEASE 🙏🏽
Great coach but meh app
My coach is excellent. I really enjoy that part of the experience. The app, not so much. It’s got lots of oddities that make it feel unpolished. I did take the time to share extensive feedback with them but the company seems focused on big shiny objects instead of quality-of-life stuff that makes day to day use, data entry easier. Before you commit to $4500/year for coaching do your self a favor and play with the app during real workouts, so you can experience the many paper cuts.
Lose the strength scores
App itself is 5 stars for the free version. Random strength scores bring it down to a 3. The scores are so poorly calculated it’s insane, they appear to solely take into account the weight of a rep and not the number of reps. Obviously everyone has different aims and these change, so it’s demoralising opening the app and seeing a big message saying strength score has been decreased because you’ve decided to do more reps at a slightly lower weight. Obviously this doesn’t actually equate to a decrease in strength. It’s a really hard concept to calculate one single number for, in all honesty I’d just stop trying. The scores also don’t take into account the effort put in, some sessions will naturally be to failure and others will be recovery. Get rid of the scores that don’t work and you easily have one of the top fitness apps on the App Store
Highly recommend!!
I have the premium/coaching version of the app & I’ve really enjoyed my time working with my coach Kirsten! She’s taught me so much & answers all of my questions thoroughly & thoughtfully. She is very knowledgeable on both exercise & nutrition which are both important to my goals. The video chats are very helpful as well. They have great flexible renewal options after the initial 3 month coaching period which I will likely use in the future once I make some more progress on my own. The tracking functions on the app are super helpful as well which I will continue using after my coaching subscription ends.
Can you overcomplicate an app more than this? I say no!
It’s a classic case of engineering logic overriding human behavior. Obviously there are many people that love this app, I am clearly not their target and I don’t have the time or patience to invest that this app requires just to create a simple workout and track it.
Good app
Really like the app. It’s a little confusing for beginners but once you figure out your way around it’s an awesome assistance app.
Nice app- some wrong tutorial videos
This app is very nice and very helpful in planning an exercise routine. One workout I’ve noticed already- bird dog, the instructions say not to raise your leg too high and to keep it parallel to the floor. But then the video shows this guy lifting his foot above his head! Thank god as a beginner I 1. Checked the instructions instead of copying the video and 2. I checked on google how to properly do it. I’m wondering how many exercises on here on being shown incorrectly.
Such a buggy app
The app itself is good but the app is so buggy, such as the loading screen never going away and being endless even though I have a good internet connection. This makes it extremely frustrating to use. It also often refuses to save the workout and again endlessly loads even when I have a good connection to the internet. It also always logs me out the app halfway through my workout meaning my workout is lost. So annoying. I think it’s ridiculous this otherwise amazing app has such fundamental issues, however I will continue using as the functionality is good when it works
Caliber: Strength Training
This app is free! I put in my workout regime, it remembers and tracks everything I input.
unintuitive
let me lookup workouts without having to be interrogated. ridiculous that i have to answer 15+ questions, make an account, and still not be able to intuitively find exercises that workout the muscle groups i want
Fantastic
Great app, easy to use, great for learning about workouts.
Meh
Workout tracking is good, chronometer sync is awesome… the fact that they consistently drop your strength score week to week to upsell coaching is annoying af. At what it costs they could at least be honest and not try to shove coaching down your throat. Strong is what I switched to same type of tracking, $99 for lifetime access, no upsells… yeah. Caliber could be very good if it did what it does without trying to make it look like you’re constantly back tracking just to push their $200+ coaching.
Strength score
My strength score decreased for my legs even though I went up in weight and reps that week. it said it was because my squat numbers decreased but I checked and that’s simply not true, I squatted with more intensity and volume that I ever had up to that point, please fix it. Other then that, great app
Ideal for Anyone
I’ve been working out for the better part of 17 years and since having children struggled to get my weight back under control, manage a consistent workout routine, and set up macro targets that would support my goals. Caliber did all of this with ease. They helped me lose weight, gain confidence, and establish my routine. Admittedly this is not a cheap service. I was forced to cut them because of financial constraints. But my time with them was highly valuable and I have no regrets for it. If times were different I’d wish to complete the program and my goals with their support but the rest of my journey is in my hands alone. I still use the free services in the app to keep track of my progress. Give them a shot. You won’t be disappointed.
Recent Update broke App
Since the most recent update. The app keeps login my out of my account. When I try to log in the app doesn’t connect and has me back at the log in page. I have to delete the app and redownload it to have it work again for a few days. Then it starts kicking me out again.
Caliber plus
Been loving the app so far but when my girlfriend and I were thinking of upgrading to Caliber plus we noticed that hers is about $30 cheaper than mine is yearly which confuses me.
can’t find cable seated face pull?
can’t find cable seated face pull!
Too basic equipment selection
I have a home gym with a adjustable cable machine. Why can’t I just select the equipment that I own instead of the 5 basic groups of equipment. That is possible in other apps
Great App
The app is designed for beginners all the way up to advanced. The overviews are extremely helpful and the information the app provides is excellent and easy to follow.
Bad design
I cant find anything anywhere.
Loving this app
It is very simple to use and helps me plan my workouts. I have it 4 stars only because there seems to be missing some exercises.
Okay
When i downloaded this app, i thought it would cover different types of strength (e.g explosive strength, etc) but i was very disappointed with the lack of variety. The “workout wizard” just creates a plan FOR you, not asking what you actually want. Even ChatGPT can do better! The strength aspect is alright though so i give it a 2 star.
Great app but they push paid plans too hard
I use the app and tried the paid plans for 3 months. It didn’t provide the right value for me so downgraded but god the ads they push on you to sign up to paid plans are so annoying and aggressive. Wish they would go away if you have actually paid for plans in the last year
Great Experience
I chose the middle tier, and I was thrilled with my experience. I worked with Grant Slama. He was very encouraging. He communicated well and laid out the plan clearly. The app is easy to use and makes it nearly impossible not to achieve your goals. I hope to renew in the future.
App sucks
This app sucks I told it I only have dumbbells and the weight of them and it wanted me to use a bench witch i dont have and it knows and it will only show you the full workout like how to do it and the reps when you click on it and you have to set the weight and set the reps for ever workout i haven’t been working out long enough for that they could have esly showed workout that you can do with the equipment you have and told you how meny reps to do and what weight to do and had it so you just stared the work out and did not have to click on each workout you are doing there are apps that show you all that and is way better then this one like this one is cool counts your steps and can give you meals if you pay this app is as if somone who never worked out made this and forgot it’s a workout app so people who don’t know what they are doing are going to use it
Get It
Great app with a lot of great features to help you progress and get better. Giving you strength feedback and videos to get you started. Surprisingly the free version gives you a lot to work with and features that many other apps charge for.
Poor VFM
Just not worth the money. Inflexible system, very poor UI, low quality videos, no apparent product development.
The app has potential!
I have just started working out to try and get into shape. I came across this app and used it for the first time. It really helped to figure out what I need to do but the downside is, it constantly reloads itself and loses internet connectivity (even though my phone is sitting on 5G). It freezes up a lot, it is very frustrating. I will be looking at a different app from now on
Real coaching, not just an app
I spent a year training on my own before joining Caliber, and having a real coach has been night and day. My coach, Sawleh, built my program from my actual training history — not just a quick intake call — and recorded a personal video walking me through the plan and the reasoning behind it. He's genuinely responsive in the app, we do monthly strategy calls, and the programming adapts as I go. He even gave me the confidence to finally pick up free weights after a year of machines. If you've plateaued training solo, Caliber is absolutely worth it.
Forces you to sign up for auto renewing trial
Basic features aren’t available until you sign up for a trial that auto renews for $90.
Overall awesome
Love the app, makes it very easy to keep track of your progress. I love that you can choose new exercises based on muscle group or available equipment. The only downside so far is there is no iPad version, it’s just tiny in the middle of the screen. Sometimes my phone is too small, having the option would be nice.
Bug?
I am trying to create my caliber workout plan and I get as far as a page with a green check mark and "Your workouts have arrived!" and it freezes there
Loses workout data when moving between offline and online
App works great if you have internet or are completely offline. If you are in offline mode and then reconnect it seems to ‘sync’ and then loses all of your offline Sets/Reps data if you’re in the middle of a workout.
Best Workout App I have used to date!
This is a you get what you pay for situation. It is more expensive than some maybe used to. It just depends on what your goals are. If you want to work closely with a professional trainer that can help you tailor your diet and workout plans to ensure maxim results in minimum time, this is a great way to do that. If your primary concern is something cheap, this may not be the best option for you. If top notch customer service, quality trainers, and workout plans that will get you in phenomenal shape, make the investment in yourself. I promise you won’t be sorry.
More Sales Talk Than Substance
The “free consultation” they give you when you start your trial period is really just a sales call. The only option they offer that would help a beginner is the $200/mth subscription. Not enough value, didn’t appreciate the bait and switch on the call.
Almost perfect
This app covers all the bases in so many ways. Logging, planning, instruction etc. The app integrates with Apple Health quite well. I would gladly pay a one time fee to support the developers. What I am not interested in is personal coaching. I know my way around a gym and simply do not need it . I am also not interested in an associated monthly fee as a supporter. I would pay a one time premium amount for the app and feel quite satisfied that this app would be all I needed for motivation and recording of my activities. Like too many things in the world everyone wants a monthly fee. This app would be 5 stars in my opinion if purchasing it out right was an option.
I absolutely love this app but I wish it’s offline mode was better
The gym I go to has REALLY bad internet, so before I get there I load my workout and get into it and then turn this into offline mode. Usually when switching between the app and Spotify I think it must forget that it’s supposed offline and fails to load and takes ages until I go somewhere I can get data and sure enough the offline mode will no longer be offline. Sometimes during this process it logs me out and occasionally I lose data from the previously completed exercises Other than this I love the app, hence why I so wish it worked better because I have used it for 6 months and have no intention of not using it, but this is REALLY annoying
Does not sync with Apple Health
All permissions are allowed. Turn sync on off. Nothing helps. Also first ever workout is like a maze of clicks until you can actually do anything.
Best Fitness App
Best, affordable, user-friendly app that I have come across. I love the workout tracker, workout library, and all of the other features!
Locked out of the app
I’ve paid £50 for a yearly membership. The app was working fine, i was enjoying it. Randomly it signed me out and i’m unable to get back in. ‘Forgot your password’ doesn’t work and no contact information to reach out. I still have 9 months left on a yearly subscription and been locked out for 1 month and counting.
Like it, but crashes
I really like this app, but it crashes consistently at least once during my workout. The data input gets slow / lags and then it crashes.
Fantastic app but pauses spotify when opening
As soon as they fix this I will give 5*. If not its getting uninstalled because this is very annoying
Good app design and stuff but keeps crashes.
The app keeps crashing on me when I'm changing workouts.
