AppWash in Rome!
Used this app at Dotcampus Roma City. It works much like parking apps in the U.S. Each washer and dryer has its own ID, making it easy to select and pay for the machine you want to use. The cost was EUR 3.50 for a wash cycle and EUR 2.00 for drying. The app accepts several payment methods, including Apple Pay. If you have a remaining balance after use, you can request a refund and the money is returned to your original payment method. PS: if you experience a problem with the machines and there is no local support at the hotel you are doomed.
The system works fine..
This app wants you to deposit $20+ minimum to wash (for security), in stead of the exact amount, and says you can refund it later. The refund typically takes 2 days and is purely to the benefit of the cash flow of the business. Normal security measures should take no more than 0.10$. Considering the app is targeted primarily towards hostels and students, taking this much money like this can be a serious liability for customers, fix, please.
Pretty good, but no manuals
Using this app is as easy as it gets. The only thing I don’t understand is why on earth does the app not have links to the PDFs of quick start manuals of all their washers and dryers so one can take full advantage of the machines’ capabilities and be sure what all the buttons (-/<—>/+) and indicators (e.g. “PC”..?) mean, and to make sure I’m not doing anything dumb using a machine I have not used before..?
Horrible experience
First off, I need to download an app to the washing machine in a dryer? This is ridiculous… Second whenever the machine has an error you forfeit all your money. Support is useless and non-responsive. Horrible experience and never want to use this ever again.

Die App zeigt an, wie lange die Maschine aktiv ist. Was meiner Meinung nach total das Ziel verfehlt hat. Bei Backofen Timer Einstellung will ich auch nicht sehen, wie lange das Essen bereits drin ist, sondern wie lange es noch drin bleiben muss. Bitte die Restlaufzeit anzeigen lassen, statt seit wann es bereits läuft.
Easy to use, easy to get balance back!
I don’t understand all the negative reviews about how you can’t get your money back. Yes the initial top up amount is high I guess, at around £20, but you can get any remaining balance back easily with two taps in the app. I used this in a hotel in Copenhagen and it was really easy. Add money to the app, select your machine in the app, select your program on the machine and then press start. It couldn’t be easier! You even get an email to say when you’re washing is ready.
nothing works…
the machines never work properly, especially the dryers. no matter the amount of clothes, they always come out rather damp, borderline wet. it always finishes earlier than stated on the machine, especially when you start the second cycle of drying which should be “free” when you claim the first machine was not working well. but if it lasts 20 minutes less than it is supposed to (out of 35 minutes by the way) is it really free? i always end up having to dry my clothes in my room! the washing machines just stop working sometimes in the middle of the wash and you don’t get notified for it, so you only notice when it tells you the cycle is done. i also remember first time i used it, the machine would not start, it was hard to get my money back because assistance took so long to reply and I ended up wasting detergent and softener as well. and that was not the only instance that happened! also, some of them are more often out of service than working! i really cannot wait to not have to use these machines anymore.
Problemlose Nutzung
An sich ist die App einfach zu bedienen und tut was sie soll. Der Kundenservice war bei einer fehlerhaften Abbuchung auch super schnell. Ich würde mir aber wünschen, dass ein geringerer Aufladebetrag möglich ist. Auch wäre es super, wenn die Uhranzeige für den Waschvorgang rückwärts laufen würde, anstatt wie aktuell hoch. So kann man immer nicht genau sagen, wann die Wäsche denn fertig ist.
Naja, Idee cool, Umsetzung ausbaufähig
Hab die App auf nem Campingplatz ausprobiert, da alle anderen Waschmaschinen besetzt waren. Das Aufladen von mindestens 20€ ist aus meiner Sicht die Leute hinters Licht geführt. Beim ersten Mal war alles ok. Beim zweiten Mal hatte die Maschine einen Fehler. Hier wäre eine Nachricht an die App wünschenswert. Kassiert wurde das Geld trotzdem… Es ist nur ein Kurzprogramm mit unterschiedlichen Temperatureinstellubgen wählbar, dass leider kaum Schleudert. Auf dem Campingplatz war nur eine Waschmaschine und ein Trockner für die App verfügbar. Das führt natürlich zu Engpässen auf einem größeren Campingplatz. Habt Geduld und greift zu den Alternativen. Handwäsche ist am Ende übrigens genauso feucht, wie aus den Miele-Maschinen auf dem Campingplatz.

Prima app en een prima service van Miele. Helaas is de support wel in het Engels en kunnen ze de meeste tijd niks voor je doen bij storingen en moet je zelf contact opnemen met een Meile dealer uit de buurt.

Compared to Wewash it sucks big time. Said my was is over whereas I know what I selected. There was still one more hour to finish. Also it shouldnt even allow to select a machine if its not plugged in. Thats so stupid. And you want money upfront? For what exactly?

Die App tut was sie soll, ist aber vom Design her nicht schön und lädt nach jedem Tap. Benachrichtigungen enthalten nicht die eigentliche Information. Das hätte man alles etwas nutzerfreundlicher umsetzen können.

Klar, alles wird teurer und auch eine 15%ige Preiserhöhung sieht man nicht zum ersten Mal. Aber das in einem Studentenwohnheim? Hier werden wöchentlich Probleme mit den Maschinen gemeldet, oft immer wieder die Gleichen. Getan wird anscheinend wenig. Ab jetzt geh ich lieber zu nem Freund mit Waschmaschine und drück ihm 2€ in die Hand.

Terrible app
Why do you need €20 of my money for a €6 wash, allow for your app just to take what is needed, don’t be greedy. I bet you make a lot of money from people forgetting you have their money on your app. You may think you’re making money, but I bet there are a lot of people like me that decide to wash clothes with your app, I would rather wait and take my washing home with me. You’re losing customers.

Is this really where we’re at, as a society? I need an app to use a washing machine? Please, genius who made this piece of garbage, tell me one thing that was ever wrong with coin operated laundry. I am not saying there’s anything specifically wrong with this app, which a better app might improve upon (though to be fair, I’ve been “running a machine” for 20 minutes, and nothing has happened). I’m saying entire concept is ridiculous. What motivations did these people have, to come up with a tech-based “solution” to something that was never a problem in the first place? What start-up grant, funded by which taxpayers, was allocated for the sake of leaving me here in this hospital-lit hostel laundry room, with the fate of my socks depending on how efficiently “laundry support” can respond to my in-app message? Are we doomed forever—by some inexorable law of capital/history—to languish beneath the idiotic maxim of “If you CAN make something controlled by an app (which I, still sockless, remain unconvinced of in this case), you SHOULD?” These are the things I have time to wonder about, as I await a response from laundry support. In conclusion: does the app wash your clothes? In my experience, no. But does the app raise several morbidly fascinating questions about the state and direction of modern capitalism? Certainly. For that, I give it 2 (instead of 0) stars.
Crazy Redesign
The new design of the app looks pretty slick, but unfortunately the usability has taken a serious hit. The display has turned into something reminiscent of a "Mickey Mouse theater" - everything is super small and kind of hard to read. Selecting options on the phone has become unnecessarily difficult. What used to be a practical and efficient but ugly tool is now chic but frustrating to read and use. A more functional layout and better touch accuracy would be highly desirable.

steals your money
its incredible to think that this multimillion dollar giant can do such a poor job with a system like this. In just a few months, 3 separate instances of the app taking my money without being able to start the programme happened. Their support does such a poor job too, they do answer and issue refunds but after a good few hours of having your clothing stuck in the machine.

Id like to have the option to contact the one using the machine before me, incase they forget to come pick their laundry up after its finished. Then I don’t have to wait long minutes for some people to be able to use the machine.

problems with new design — please put machines back in numerical order
the interface of the new design looks nice, but prioritizes looks over usability. on the page where you choose your washing machine, the list of washing machines used to go across the whole screen. now they’re inside little text bubbles in a frame, way too small and difficult to read quickly. also PLEASE put the machines list back in numerical order. there are so many machines and it’s so hard to find the right one when the list isn’t in order. I don’t want all of the available ones at the top if it means they are all out of order. also, please add ability to save my payment method. right now I have to go all the way back to my apartment to get my physical card to type in the numbers if I want to top up the app.

Jeg har aldri vært helt fornøyd med appen, men den har ikke vært direkte irriterende. Har satt veldig pris på at det f.eks har vært mulig å betale med Apple pay. Det værste før den siste oppdateringen var at man kun får se hvor lenge maskinen har vært betalt for, og ikke når den er ferdig. Selvom jeg kunn trenger å vite når den er ferdig (Ender med å sette en nedtelling på mobilen for å vite hvor lenge det er til vaskemaskinen er ferdig). Men etter den nye oppdateringen er appen kort sagt ulogisk, irriterende og funksjonelt en nedgradering. Jeg opplever at jeg oftere trykker meg inn på maskiner jeg ikke vil velge. Dette skjer enten fordi jeg må lete etter vaskemaskinen som ikke lengre er i en sortert liste (skjer ved at jeg holder inne på skjermen for å lese mens jeg blar) eller at jeg trykke på maskinen over eller under fordi knappen nå er smalere en lillefingeren min. Hadde vært fint om det ikke var så mye ubrukelig plass på bunn av skjermen, og om man vil ha flere maskiner på skjermen, på en gang, så er kanskje to rader med kvadratiske ruter bedre. Men det MÅ være en måte være en måte å sortere rekkefølgen på maskinene, så 36994 ikke er imellom maskin 37824 og 37856.

Ease of use
Payment is easily made via the app and when thing go wrong (the washing machine not completing the cycle) requesting a refund is just as easy. Would be nice to have a countdown timer when using a machine instead of a timer showing total time.

Restzeitanzeige wäre besser
An sich funktioniert die App gut aber anstatt zu sehen seit wann die App läuft wäre es gut zu wissen wie lange sie noch läuft da es zeitlich je nach Waschprogramm ja Unterschiede geben kann. Da hilft es nicht zu sehen dass die Maschine seit 18min läuft. Auch sollte die Maschine erst wieder als „verfügbar“ markiert sein, wenn die Wäsche tatsächlich rausgenommen wurde damit man nicht zum Waschraum läuft und vor einer vollen Maschine steht. Das sind schon wesentliche Punkte die die Nutzung angenehmer machen würden Wenn das noch drin wäre wäre sie top.

Zu teuer und dreckig
Dafür dass es so teuer ist seine Wäsche dort zu waschen ist es ziemlich dreckig, oft sind Haare in der Waschmaschine und die Wäsche wird beim waschen auch nicht richtig sauber! Des Weiteren wird die Wäsche im Trockner nicht trocken auch wenn er nicht voll ist . Ich finde es auch sehr frech dass der niedrigste aufladbare Betrag 20€ sind . Alles in allem ist es sehr frech dafür so viel Geld zu verlangen weil ich durch die kleine Wohnung ohne Waschmaschinenanschluss auf das waschen mit appWash angewiesen bin.

Appen har blitt mye verre etter oppdateringen. Noen ting jeg har merket: - Det viser en «laster inn» animasjon hver eneste gang man går til en ny side. - vaskemaskinene sorteres ikke i kronologisk rekkefølge lenger. - Hvorfor har dere lagt inn så mange nye bilder og animasjoner og diverse ekstra?? Det er en app for å vaske og tørke ting. Gjør det enkelt!
