Best app for the Concept2 RowErg BikErg and SkiErg
ErgZone is one of the best tools for indoor rowing—reliable, customizable, easy to use, and packed with options for training, coaching, programming, and racing. I use ErgZone regularly for coaching and programming, and I compete every month in races hosted right on the platform. I love how it brings training, competition, and the rowing community together in one place. The developers truly listen to feedback and are constantly improving the app. The Premium features are absolutely worth it. Thank you for continuing to build such a great resource for the indoor rowing community! ❤️
Use ErgData instead
ErgData is far more useful and free
Could be better
Overall, I enjoy and find this app useful, however, it would be five stars if the heart monitor would sync with my Samsung Galaxy watch.
Poor Concept2 Integration
Integration with Concept2 ErgData is terrible. Completed workouts while account is connected to ErgData logbook and the workouts don’t appear.
Very frustrating!
This is probably the most frustrating app I’ve ever encountered. On the one hand, the detail provided during workouts is first class and has improved vastly even since the app was launched. In particular, it shows your exact pace. For example, if you are going at 1:59.9 pace, it will say so. The PM5 monitor (and C2’s ErgData app) will incorrectly truncate it to say 1:59! There are still slight glitches, however. You don’t have to program the monitor either, workouts are sent direct, once programmed into the app. On the other hand, your workouts are not shown chronologically as they are on ErgData. Rather, they are grouped according to the session you started (and didn’t necessarily finish!). The worst part, however, is that the premium features (of which there are several, of varying usefulness), are very hard to obtain. There are “group” memberships for anywhere from 2 to 250 members and beyond. However, what they don’t make clear (and give misleading information) is that ONLY the first named person of the 2, 10, 50, 250 or whatever gets the premium features, which is inexplicably ridiculous. There isn’t even an individual membership option. I am now using ErgData again. I will check back periodically to see if there have been any improvements. I would award the app 5/10, but because there is a 5 point scale, I’ve rounded up to 3/5.
Amazing rowing app
What’s to say? I’ve been using this app since beta, for 5 years now? 6? The creators are very personable; they keep their own Facebook page and are very communicative and involved with feedback. They are heavily involved in the indoor rowing community as a whole, and it shows through l their hard work and constant attention to detail within the app.
No synch with Strava or Garmin connect
Heart Monitor invisible
Logbook and Rankings
Although I think this is a fine app. I’m more interested in the Logbook and Rankings than the programmed workouts. I find getting to the logbook and moving through the rank data to compare times difficult due to a poor user interface. Much could be revisited for improvement.
Not Compatible with WaterRowers
I know Concept 2 is the standard training erg for rowing, but the WaterRower fit better in my tiny row house. Unfortunately, my trainers use ErgZone and it’s not compatible with my WaterRower, even with BlueTooth. Teammates love this app, I just wish it would work with my machine.
I really like how it programs the workouts in
I recently started using this app instead of ErgData. I usually pick one of the C2 daily workouts and send it to my skier or rower The lack of native Apple Health synchronization is it’s biggest downside. I’m not interested in doing the Strava work around
Worth Every Penny
Simply put, this app makes me a better rower, it gives me valuable feedback that I don’t get on my erg.
Waste
Locked every possible feature behind a paywall. Can’t even find out if I like the app before wasting money. Bad move. Immediately deleted
Option payante ??????????
Bonjour, Bravo pour l’intégration de l’Apple Watch mais pourquoi en avoir fait une option payante ??? C’est absolument scandaleux !!! Est-ce que vous faites payer les possesseurs d’une ceinture cardio ?
Initially confused by interface but got quick response from developer
When you scan to connect it will find your machine quickly but keep scanning. That’s ok. Just hit the word “connect” and go. Will revise once I’ve done some workouts. Developer responded quickly to my request for help.
Great app
Love the app and rowing on it!!
Switched from free to subscription plan without warning
Liked it just fine for years, until last night when my workout did not sync with trainingpeaks.com. No warning, just lost data. I clearly understand the economics, but some sort of announcement that would have stopped me from wasting lots of time trying to figure out what happened would have been useful. Was five stars until last night.
Just crashes
As a former subscriber of the paid plan, I can’t use the app at all now. It just says “failed to load your workout feed , check your internet connection.” Apparently there is no issues with my internet, since I can post this. The idea is great with the app, but the implementation needs improvement.
Great app but no offline modus
As we in the crossfit box have neither WiFi nor cellular reception this app does not work with e.g. custom added workouts. If you guys change it I will also change my rating. Work around: coding the workout in the PM5 and then using ErgData ...
Easy way to program your erg
I have been using this for several years. Its simple interface and reliable connection to my concept2 erg makes it an indispensable part of my morning workout. It’s filled with loads of metrics, many of which I haven’t used, but its simplicity sets it apart from other apps. Highly recommended

Unimpressed
Tried ErgZone and was not impressed as a replacement for ErgData. I’m not interested in the training support side of the app, just used as a mechanism to upload to my logbook to Strava. It uploaded as expected, the total time was out by 3mins (which is just mad) getting the time correct is kinda essential, then when logbook transferred to Strava it only displayed the exercise distance and didn’t include rest distance. ErgData managed to get the above issues correct.
Great app
I used to hate erging now I love it! It’s helping me with my rowing and strength and stamina.
No apple health integration
No apple health integration makes this a non starter. ErgData may be a bit clunky, but it at least plays nice with other apps.
Cant figure out how to connect to PM5
I dont understand the interface. Cant figure out how to connect to PM5.
ErgZone is the absolute best!
ErgZone is, without any doubt, the single best erg app ever created. I’ve been using it since shortly after it was released, and the team has continuously made significant improvements across the board. They are also extremely receptive to user feedback, which has been truly awesome. I cannot fathom erging without ErgZone!
The best!
ErgZone is the best App for all concept2 machines! Great community and works flawlessly.
Great Ap
Awesome for programming endurance rowing workouts. Love that it integrates with Concept 2 logbook.
Works with Assault Rower
Like the title says, this works well with the Assault Rower. Hit the Bluetooth button and connect to the app. It’s great and well worth the subscription for me.
