Ad galore
I used to love these cameras. Then they updated the app so every time I open the app I have to let an ad play. Now it doesn’t allow for video anymore, only pictures. Don’t buy these cameras. It’s not worth it

As I stated earlier . I was satisfied with the response my concern was it took quite sometime to get it. I eventually figured it out myself. I do like the product but was a little frustrated w/ the response time
Ads!
Every update seems to be just new ad placements within the app it self. I will be looking for a different security system. Oh and don’t install the updates. Cuz that’s where all the ads come from!
Too Many Software Ugrade Sales Messages and NOW Ads!!!
It's a shame because otherwise this is a really good, affordable security camera software product that works well and are user-friendly, but this company's upsell sales messages have become way too aggressive and now when you check your smartphone to view security camera status your app even gets passively highjacked with low grade ads. I would've rather paid $5 or so more per camera upfront for the premium detection software. I also have emailed the company with questions to find out about using an additional SD card but it's been over a week and nobody has responded.

Switching Cameras
This app now makes you pay for the subscription to view your videos. Getting an SD card before ditching them fully. But not paying $10 a month for another subscription that these guys are forcing you to get in order to use the app. I didn’t mind the ads to view the videos. Now you can’t even view them at all. Ring cameras on my next amazon purchase.
Good value
Even if there are small issues still with the upgraded app, it is a very “entertaining” way to watch the bird life that it brings near the window. Still some mis recognised birds, but overall a very delightful view of the wildlife

Kicked me out and deleted everything
I had been loving this app until it randomly kicked me out and deleted my devices. I’ve been trying and trying to recover a certain footage that I urgently need and I cannot retrieve because this app decided to remove my devices. Find yourself something else!

Why ads?
I paid for the cameras, the ap is required to use the cameras I spent money on. Why force commercials every time I check my cameras?
Iffy connection
When it works it’s great but it takes many attempts to connect to the live view and accessing the sd card footage. Needs sorting quick.
I love it
My kids got me this bird feeder for Father’s Day. It is great and I love having it right outside my window. The camera is clear and also provides a level of security for my front door.
DONT BUY VICOHOME CAMERAS
These Cameras are not a smart purchase. My account keeps getting signed out and I asked them to look into it. All they have to say is “ only one person can be logged in at a time” like I didn’t know that already. Support team is terrible… I can’t even look at all 4 of my cameras at the same time. Luckily I always get back into my account by changing the password. I would NOT recommend these cameras to anybody personally I wish I could return them.
Birdfeeder Camera
Received this Awesome birdfeeder camera for Christmas. VicoHome worked well up until last week. It identified, and worked great up until the software update! Now it doesn’t detect pets, and calls birds my pets. A House Sparrow is identifying as a Raven! Sometimes the bird is called a Person! Hmmm
Pop up adds
Please fix the ads that pop up when opening camera notifications. When I get a security alert, I need to see what’s happening immediately not an ad blocking my screen. This is becoming a serious safety concern because those few seconds could matter in an emergency. Ads should NEVER delay access to security alerts or live view. Please fix this.
No more video access
I loved this feeder when I got it. I could see and hear the birds in the 10 second videos and that was great! Now the free tier apparently only includes photos and no access to videos unless you wanna pay the full fee. I don't need all the other bells and whistles included in the membership, I just want to be able to watch the 10 seconds that was recorded like I previously could.

Great bird house
Quality is exceptional and incredibly fun experience for the whole family! My only negative comment is that there could be a manual that is more user friendly. Not really geared to those that are not very techie. However certainly worth the effort!
Going downhill fast
Unfortunately, once purchasing the cameras (I have four) you are locked into the companies plans to push you into subscription by massive ads and constant software updates (prob to steal your personal data) just as you are trying to use the cameras for safety of your home. They also took away free cloud storage. Eventually they are going to make these completely off putting and lose on camera sales big time. I’m already considering throwing these in the trash and switching to a wired system. They’ll prob tell me to complain elsewhere but I’m not wasting my time.

It doesn’t always connect, and confusing to answer to person at the door, I will be ditching it and buying a new one like the previous one I had, I’m not impressed with this one at all

After purchasing the cameras a few years ago all of a sudden one day my app has ads and will no longer show me a video or let me zoom in. None of this happened until recently although I have purchased my cameras multiple years ago they want you to sign up for service so they’ve stopped everything so you have to sign up for their service. This is a violation I would not support them.

Temperamental
We pay a monthly fee, it’s not extortionate but it’s also mostly useless. No matter how you adjust the settings, the camera goes from recording every little movement, birds, cats, cars passing by, to recording nothing, even when people walk to the door, or leave the house. I have no clue how to tweak it. Tried every setting there is. The picture quality is decent but the functionality is at best very temperamental. Reply to the developer: this -is - my feedback. I don’t think I can go into any more detail. The app is fairly easy to use but it isn’t doing what is asked to do. A lot of the time.
BEWARE, SCAM
The cameras and the app are a scam, not only did they reduce the functionality of the camera with the first update but I keep getting scam messages on the app, saying things like update the app, by clicking on the message (no update at the App Store) to saying I have 57 viruses from visiting porno sites, which I didn’t visit. BEWARE ITS A SCAM, don’t waste your money on this. It’s cheaper in the long run to buy a real system with a recorder that paying ten $100s to cloud store your data
Bait and Switch
Slowly taking features away and hiding them behind a paywall and adding ads. Not what I originally purchased anymore. Can’t even view video events without paying.
Cam won’t stay connected
Since updating my VicoHome firmware a few days ago (June 9th 2024), my camera won’t stay connected to my wifi. It says wifi signal strong on the app but then the server times out after trying to connect when trying to watch the live feed. Is there any way to restore the previous firmware version? It worked ok before
Great System until Ads
We bought a bird house 2 years ago with a camera, and it’s been fantastic, but recently there’s a full screen ad whenever I open this app, which usually makes me miss the birds when I get a notification. By the time I tap the notification that there is a bird at the camera, open the app, wait for the add, load the live stream, the bird is gone. So essentially the app is now pointless.
Needs more features
I use this camera as part of the bird feeder and subscription, and it’s great for general bird watching. However, the AI detection can be inconsistent and sometimes misses birds even when they are clearly present. It would be extremely helpful to have a feature that allows users to manually tag or identify birds in recordings when the AI does not detect them (for example, when the clip is triggered only by motion). Adding this functionality would significantly improve the value and usability of the camera and app.
Do better at bird IDs!
I’m continually annoyed at the poor bird identification. Too often they suggest a bird that’s geographically impossible for this area. I submit feedback and it doesn’t improve. Given how expensive the app is, I’m not sure I’ll resubscribe if they don’t fix things.
Camera stopped taking video two days ago. Update did not help

Constantly signing me out
Every time I open the app it says my session has expired and I have to sign in again. Just swiping to another app and back again will sign you out. Very frustrating experience.

I was happy with these at first even bought a second one. But having to watch the ads when I get the alert that someone’s at the door is ridiculous. If the forced ads aren’t removed I’ll have to get rid of these cameras.
Not intuitive
Information is there but it is not always obvious. For example we had to google how to get live streaming.

Just installed this App as LongPlus app is no longer supported. Was great for 2 days. Now forced to buy subscription to see any recordings. Will be changing cameras and App. Don’t force people who buy your cameras to also buy a subscription.

Good app, dose what it needs to do, wish it had longer recording duration on the motion sensor only allows 20 sec of recording after it senses motion which I could up it to 60 sec or longer
Paid service
The cameras themselves work pretty good, but you have to pay for everything you think should come in a camera. I can’t adjust where I want my camera to view a record from. I’ve had people pulling into my driveway multiple times and the camera doesn’t see anything but somebody drives by 5 feet past that and it picks it up. It’s pretty ridiculous.
