Love the site, app needs work
The website and customer service is great, but the app will only show my goals and not the transactions, which is the entire point of the app?
Error can’t log in. Constant.
I really love the app and its functionality, but every time I click on it, I get an error message and it won’t open. I’m ready to delete it altogether and delete my account on the website, because it’s basically useless on my phone.
Not updating
It’s good that they finally have an app but why is it not updating? I just deposited money using my laptop a week ago, but it doesn’t reflect that in the app?

Accurate Savings Amounts
Been having issues with my savings correctly showing on the app but when I log onto the website everything shows correctly. Would be great if this issue was addressed, otherwise the app is great.
Love the app, but can’t log in right now…
I love this app and how it works. It’s user friendly. However, I’ve tried to log in since yesterday and can’t for some reason. There isn’t any new updates and tried the website, but still can’t log in. Not sure why it isn’t working.

Great tool for long term needs
SmartyPig has been a great tool for my family to put away incremental amounts that will be necessary for longer term needs (emergency fund, vacation, etc)
Great Service, Lousy App
The app very frequently can’t connect to the service, and the usability leaves a lot to be desired. It’s fine for checking balances (when it actually loads properly) but the rest of it is very clumsy. I’ve been a customer for more than a decade and would like to continue. But please invest in an app that works well or just drop it completely (again). I’d be happy to engage if someone at SmartyPig is interested in creating something that really works.
Poorly made and lazy
I wanted to love it so badly but it just isn’t good. The app doesn’t load, transfers are insanely slow, the balance doesn’t show up at all. Its not motivating to save when my goals show up as 0% complete even when they’re almost at 100% complete. It’s just broken. Not worth the low interest rate. Seriously trash. Do they even have engineers to work on it?
It’s a Great Idea,
However I don’t know what is going on with the app all of a sudden because I transferred money into my Smarty Pig account and the app is not reflecting my updated balance. I have to log in through the web browser to see my updated balance. I’ve tried logging out and back in. Uninstall and reinstall and my balance is still not reflecting my updated balance. App is kinda useless if I have to use the web browser each time now. 😒
Finally a good app
They had an app before that was great. Not sure why they got rid of it. Then I had to use the website for years even on my phone and use the annoying captcha every time. But now finally they made an app again. I haven’t used it a ton yet but it already looks and feels great. Thanks for finally making it easy again to manage my money through your service (which I have always loved btw).
Bugs
Too many bugs. Every time I attempt to cancel a recurring transactions, it logs me out the system. This happens on the website too. It’s frustrating. I’d rather take my money out and not Deal with this headache.

The app keeps crashing and I can’t get in and I have to call them and change it all over again
App is glitchy; very user friendly
Once I can get into my app, it is very user friendly and simple to manage your money. The negatives are that it often glitches when you try and login. It just gets stuck/frozen and I have to close app frequently and come back later to login again. Also it takes forever to transfer money from Smarty Pig to my local brick and mortar bank for use.

Not as exciting as I thought it would be
I just opened an account and created some goals. I wish I could add my own subcategories, just for organizing. It is great to be able to calculate how much money you need to deposit to reach your goal by your goal date, but I wish I had more control over the frequency the only two options are Monthly and Bi-weekly. I also wish you could calculate how long and/or how much you could save if you knew you could only save a certain amount at each deposit. Update: I don’t feel like I can do anything on the app. I get an error every time.
Unable to Use
I have been unable to use the app since last update. I am able to login in but it then just spins. I have gone five minutes waiting for the app to login until I finally gave up. I have tried multiple times to login.
Face ID login doesn’t work
Please improve Face ID login. Very frustrating when it says it worked but pig repetitively wiggles and app doesn’t open.

Constantly fails
Not only does login require multiple uninstalls and reinstalls but you can’t even access all of your different savings without going to the desktop. Honestly one of my worst apps.
I can’t edit information
I spoke to an operator about a typo on my account. Now I have to fill out a legal affidavit to make a correction?
Website is more efficient
App is very bare bones. Can only really view your account and initiate transfers. Find myself having to use website, which is inconvenient to do on my phone. Also have had issues logging in when the Face ID doesn’t work.
Easy to navigate!
What a clean design. It’s very user friendly and eye catching. That’s not something that you tend to get from financial/savings app, so I’m very satisfied!
Great idea, terrible app
Loved Smarty Pig but the app has gone downhill substantially. To even get it to work you have to reboot everything. They refuse to work to make it better.
Percent saved doesn’t update
I have a few goals. Only one updates regularly. The other goals don’t show an updated savings total or percent saved even after a week after the transaction. I can’t close a goal with the app, I need to get on website to close a goal.
Needs some bug fixes!!
Doesn’t reflect transfers well or saving history. It doesn’t do a good job of being accurate.
Love, love, love my Smartypig account!
Smartypig has been a game changer for managing my budget. Without it I wouldn’t be able to pay my insurance for the year all at once, ‘escrow’ property taxes for myself, fund household renovations, holiday shopping, travel and built my emergency fund. I have referred anyone I can talk finances to Smartypig. Been a member so long I had the original app! I Like this one. Wish we could see next withdrawal date like we can on the website. Quirky thing I noticed...when you log in it will show the first three goals and give you the total balance for just those three. I have WAY more than three and had heart palpitations about where the rest of the funds were until I hit see all accounts. Also not sure how to close a goal from the app. Very thrilled to have an app for my daily financial look see. Thank you!
Buggy
If you use the app and come back to it a couple days later. You appear to still be logged in. But if you actually try and use it you get an error. You must quit the app in order to restart it and login again.
Needs more
There’s a lot you can’t do with the app. Like adding or verifying external accounts. You also can’t see the status of transfers, need to use the website for that. Needs to be available in app
FINALLY, a SmartyPig app!!
I’ve been an avid user of SmartyPig banking for years, and I absolutely love it. I think it’s the best way to save money for all your different short-term savings goals. So glad that using SmartyPig is even easier and more convenient, now that the app is available. Simple and easy to understand, especially if you’re already familiar with how the website works. You can’t go wrong with SmartyPig!
Someone is earning interest not me
I believe in paying yourself first and saving which is why I started using this account. However a few years into it I note that money leaves my checking account and does not appear in my smarty pig account for 7 calendar days. In other words someone is earning interest on my money for that period, it's not me. I would understand a one or two day delay but 7 calendar days in todays world is unacceptable. There are lots of better alternatives paying comparable or better interest
