What people like
- Sounds amazing for guitar practice
- Tons of great tone options
- Portable and easy to carry around
What they complain about
- Ads interrupt you constantly
- Bluetooth connection drops all the time
- App crashes randomly during use
- Support never actually helps
Amazing!
Wireless!!! Great tones for bass too!
Freezing when connected
Nope didn’t fix it!
Really good
Everything about the app is amazing, but I do wish there was a version for Windows
Update 4.5.1 Fails / Lost Presets + Hendrix bundle
Just updated my app yesterday to version 4.5.1 and I lost all my custom presets. But the most frustrating part, is that I’ve also lost the Jimi Hendrix bundle that I bought! Is there any way I can get a refund on that Hendrix bundle? Other than that, I would have gave it a 5 because the new AI feature is great.
Random crashes, no support
A novel app, but so many crashes. I’d rather report the issue than leave a review. But no support. If I change the timing of the metronome it crashes. Sometimes other random crashes.
Not just for guitars and bass.
I use the Spark Go as my Harp effect amp for practice and use my Spark 40 for jam sessions. Maybe one day I’ll get the Live but need to save more pennies.
Unable to use app on older iPhone after update
Recent update renders app useless if you have an older phone. It will not even open.
Recording with backing tracks
I really like the app, operate very smoothly, no crashes and bugs. Many choices of sounds settings and presets. There one thing missing that would make this app even more interesting. The option to record within the app while playing with backing tracks. This is something that I would like to see implemented in the next version update. Apart from that , I’m happy with it.
STOP THE ADS
I literally cannot do anything on the Spark app without having to see ads for new products and “I am eligible for an upgrade!” I love my Spark Live amp and I love controlling it with my phone. But these ****ing pop-ups are ruining the experience for me. JUST STOP.
Love the amp hate that they try to make me buy the upgrade every time
Love the amp hate that they try to make me buy the upgrade every time I turn on my amp Please make it stop positive grid
Spark is a good tool
Helpful for any level of player. Unique Ai features sure to keep you engaged.
Crash on older phone
The recent update is now working anymore with older iphone/iOS.
Overwriting
I have no “Save to hardware on my app “ Can’t add presets
Spark App doesn’t allow you to access tone cloud
I’ve had a Spark Go for just over a year. I love(d) it but recently I wanted to go to the tone cloud to search for a new sound and the Spark App would not allow me to tap on or key anything into the search dialog on the tone cloud. I went to Spark support and submitted the problem with a screen capture of my Google Pixel 6 phone screen with the tone cloud issue. I got a response from Devan, a Spark AI, and was told to toggle off my Google Pixel, which didn’t work. So I have no access to new tones in the tone cloud and no solution from Spark
Spotify integration not working
“Unknown error”has not been fixed on IOS, really sad. Please work on your API
Exceeded my expectations!
This little practice amp packs a punch. The options for tonality are almost endless. Friends hear this thing and instantly it puts a smile on their faces. GET ONE!! You will not be disappointed.
Disconnects aaaaaalll the time
Bluetooth disconnects all the time. Contacted the company, no real fixes. Bought the Hendrix pack. Doesn’t show on iPad, while it does in other OS. They know. They do nothing. Great!
Should never have downloaded this update
The app won’t even open now. My iPad must be too old F___k me.
Inaccurate Chords & App Crashes
Chords are not reliably accurate and jamming with AI crashes all the time.
App does not link to Spotify as advertised
Good amp and app, however part of the appeal (and part of their promotional info) is that the app interfaces with Spotify. It does not.
Just Amazing
I basically ditched all my amps and effects while practicing my songs and sound. This app literally does everything you need as a guitarist to improve / have fun. It’s sort of embarrassing that fender and gibson with all the money they have couldn’t have figured out something even close. All you need to start playing is a guitar, a phone and a guitar cable. This thing does now even need a power cable, because it charges with usb 3 and it last forever! You can literally do busking on the streets with 0 efforts 😳
Connection issues
Cannot connect to Bluetooth. Help page is not helpful. Cannot contact anyone for help. Wasted my money.
Authentication changes
It’s a great app, but I don’t understand the removal of Login with Apple. It’s safer, convenient, and keeps my information private. It’s just a plain bad decision for Apple users.
Bluetooth audio doesn’t work
Backing tracks will not play through the speaker. I have turned off every Bluetooth device around except for my iPhone which has the spark app, yet the amp just searches for a connection. Good in theory, but I’d rather ditch the gimmick and play through something that works every time
Needs an update
The tool bar on the iPad is too small and difficult to see.
Spark update
Last update will not let me connect with the app…I own a spark live. Just keeps saying its disconnected. Fix it please with another update!
App is good
App is really good but when using the smart jam function the crashes
no AUV3
no AUV3 support is a shame..
Spark apply
Very good app
Could not be worse
Using iPhone 13 Pro with brand new guitar. All software updated. Absolutely will not stop disconnecting from the app. I’m restarting the phone, restarting the amp, forgetting it as a blue tooth device, going in and out of pairing mode. I’ve been trying to tune my guitar for over an hour now and I’m kicking myself that I just didn’t get a normal amp with a normal guitar tuner. When you try to fix something that isn’t broken, this is what you get.
Will not connect to app
My spark go will not connect to the app, everything is up to date on the app
Buggy, unreliable. Needs work.
I am a very fed up Positive Grid customer who has had nothing but trouble trying to get any of my amps connecting to this awfully buggy software. It works sometimes then cuts out. This is both on my iPad Air M2 and iPhone 14 Pro. The looper software on the Spark 2 barely works. Really amateurish and bug ridden. The Spark amp crashes regularly and I find it too unreliable to use. I am writing this review whilst watching my app failing to connect to my Spark 40 again. Not good enough! Please fix and consider testing the software properly before releasing to unsuspecting customers.
Love it
Don’t have any issues. Just awesome
Not connecting to the server
I bought the amp yesterday, it was all great. Today it cannot connect to the server from ToneCloud... the search function is not working 😖I am so disappointed
Love it
Very versatile, I simply don’t like the AI pictures when searching for tones, they are ugly
MAGNUS YYC
Day One with Spark GO… I LOVE IT! (My wonderful wife gave me my Xmas present early because of the stress she sees me going through with a competitor of yours). Since August of this year, I have been using a leading, top of the line “Mobile Interface” product that plugs into my IOS mobile devices. Although, I could say much about that product, no need. I love the Spark Go after only one evening because… IT SOUNDS AWESOME!
Spotify issue
The issue with not being able to connect to Spotify is extremely frustrating.
Stop the harassment
Could you please stop asking if want to change my amp to your new spark 2 every-time I start the app…I keep clicking NO but still ask again every time…seriously annoying!
Great sound, app almost perfect
Sounds great. The app works well too and is quite intuitive. I just wish I could easily select different tunings from the tuner app (drop d, half step down, full step down, etc.).
