Do Not Subscribe to Remote Start
The Remote Start function only works 2 times. Then it must be re-set by opening and closing a car door. You cannot use Remote Start to start your engine (to warm up the battery) while you are away on extended trip.

Some time it doesn’t unlock with mobile app but it’s still very convenient

Customers should not have to pay for remote start when the key fob remote start sequence is so unreliable and you have to be right next to the vehicle:

Useless
I over pay for this useless app. Does not work 80% of the time. Either times out and does nothing at all or gives an error. That is if ít doesn’t log you out for no reason.
Great App, but More Features Would Make It Better
I really like the Toyota app, but I think it could be improved with a few additional features. It would be very helpful to have the option to set the desired temperature in the car directly from the app, especially when using Remote Start. I would also love to see the last 5 locations where the vehicle was driven or parked. These features would make the app much more convenient and useful for everyday use.🙂
Crashes often and remote start doesn’t work
This app appears to be very buggy. It often won’t let me sign in saying that there’s a problem with the sign in and when I try to sign in manually the app just restarts. Additionally, the remote start feature won’t work. It says that there is a problem with the command.
Works awesome but many bugs and issues
It constantly kicks me out of my account despite keep me signed in being enabled. Takes forever to refresh EV charging info unless I use the remote features (lock, unlock, etc.). One time it actually didn’t let me sign in despite all account information being correct and the car detecting the profile so I had to make a new account. Other than those hiccups the app is actually really good. Gives me info about my PHEV charging and range information, reminds me about windows and doors bearing open and remembers tire pressure readings which once saved me.

Remote start is unreliable
It’s nice to use remote start, but there are times, maybe 10% of the time when it just simply will not work. It times out and instructs you to close and reopen the app. But if it doesn’t want to work, closing it and opening it multiple times doesn’t work. And it isn’t a signal issue. It has happened with full bars. I’ve even toggled airplane mode to no avail. I just have to jump in a hot car on those days. If you get this reliability issue fixed I’ll change to 5 stars.
Mileage on vehicle
I’m surprised I had to enter the odometer reading in the maintenance part of this app. It app knows exactly what the odometer reading is. Why isn’t it entered automatically?

It’s good when it works
I have had this app since 2020. It’s great when it works. A majority of the time it doesn’t connect to my car and says remote command failed. I have came out to my car not running even though it says has started and was still in the 10 min timer.
Updates
I only wish the truck didn’t turn off after using the remote start. I also wish I could adjust the climate from the remote. Other than that, I enjoy the convenience.

No charge history
Not having any charge history show up in the charge history is a pretty important feature for a PHEV. App is also quirky and not as seamless as the ford and Nissan apps I use for other vehicles

I love the app and new truck. I only wonder why I have to pay for the app after the first year, while other brands don’t have you pay, for a similar service?
Remote connect isn't reliable
Remote connect will randomly stop working and cause you to be stranded. Customer service won't help, and they'll even try and gaslight you into thinking the problem is your fault. They expect you to pay for software that is subject to randomly failing and stranding you with no contingency and no help from them. DO NOT RELY ON REMOTE CONNECT. I won't be paying the surcharge for it after my trial is over, since I won't be using it ever again. I am happy to delete the app that spies on my every move, and is unintuitive and buggy.
Useful, but…
This app works well. I really like being able to check the security of the vehicle. HOWEVER, it repeatedly asks me to load a digital key to the app, which I refuse! Forget my phone in the car and it’s not secured! Come on Toyota, cut it out!!

I have had the Ford app prior to this and it is way better. AND ITS FREE. You can’t do anything on the Toyota app. It won’t let you leave your key in the car and remote lock it. What’s the point in having it?? If you remote start your car, it only goes ten minutes. You can not extend the time. And you can only do two cycles of it. So only 20 minutes?? The key fob also does not have remote start on it. Very disappointed. Will not be paying for this nonsense when my free trial is over.
Add Widget option
So far the app is very useful with all of its functionalities. The only thing missing that I would appreciate is the option to add a Widget to Apple’s home or lock screen. There could be different options like seeing the % of battery left to the car and the estimated km range, show if doors are lovked, etc Please consider adding this as an option, I’m sure it would be useful to many drivers!
Nearly useless for BZ EV
You should be able to adjust the charge limit (ie 80-100%) via the app. You should be able to tell it to Charge Now! I have a schedule that charges to 80% at low rates. Some days we plan a longer trip and want to charge to 100%… I have to walk out to my detached garage and start the car to make this change… inconvenient any time, but is really going to suck when I have to trudge through the snow in the winter. I’ve been driving Toyotas since 1985… and have owned hybrids since 2006… excited to finally get an EV and am so disappointed
What to do if your app doesn’t sign in
Turn off your VPN. Had this issue before and figured out you have to turn on your VPN. It’s a good app but would be nice if it worked with a VPN turned on.

Latest update suck
Most of the screen(about 2/3) is useless when looking to find your vehicule on the map in the app... the tab to lower/hide the white square with "dealers and destinations" does not do anything. I will update the review when/if it get fixed.
Recharge not updated in real time and set recharge schedule
The app does not reflect the charge state in real time. It seems to give the charge state when the car was last turned off. It would also be good to be able to program charge schedules in the app rather than have to do it in the car. Finally it would be good to set the schedule with the end time rather than the start time. Then the car would be charged just in time which would be better for the lifespan of the battery. It would also be better for autonomy in cold weather since the battery would have used the energy from the utility to warm it.
Payment Section
When I bought the car they told me I can put my card/bank account info there to be able to do auto pay but it never lets me. It just stays loading and loading and never allows me to have access to my financial sections to set up my auto payments. It must be an app issue and online don’t work either. So I have to pay thru the phone like wtf. Bs ahh yall need to fix this app or server problem. Please and thank you.
Digital key not downloading
The digital key never downloads, doesn’t work.
Location accuracy is too slow and not accurate
Location, accuracy of the car is not right and it’s too slow. You don’t know. Where is your car?

Have to be able to roll up windows
1 star until Toyota unlocks the ability to roll up the windows remotely using this app. Come on, you’re charging a subscription fee. Do better.

I have been using toyotas since 2019 in terms of hybrid and electric, trust me there are far more resources available if tou wanna go head to head with tesla, considering the fact that you are in the market far more older than tesla and that too globally! Please do better on this app and the connectivity
