Life Saver
Despite having over two decades of experience in audio production and songwriting, I found myself facing the inevitable reality of the music industry: everything grinds to a halt in the fall. You can’t click on anything on my iPhone and it’s impossible to log into the app
Slow Experience
The app doesn’t work properly. It’s very slow, and the pages often don’t load correctly. The only feature I can use properly is messaging. Sometimes messaging is also not work properly.🙁
Buggy
App bugs out a lot, says I have 0 proposals yet I have over 30. Messages room doesn’t load.
Credits
It's a concept, the only downside is that you have to buy credits to apply for jobs. I understood they give some free ones to try it out. , but I've never received them

Account Locked for no reason
I haven't been using Upwork for years. then i decided to come back and see if I can do some side gigs.I bought that pro subscription, few days after, My account was restricted with no reason. Tried to appeal or even understand what is the reason behind this restriction, but no response...
Subscription still charged
heyyy to whoever ends up reading this. i hope you’ve eaten something so you’re not cranky. anyways, i canceled my subsection 2 days ago which would’ve been august 4, and i think the billing cycle reset on the 2nd of every month depending on when you buy. my card this morning was charged $27, im a bit short on funds and i need those $27 for gas. 💀 i get it, $27 is chump change, is there anything that can be done about this? i’d just like some confirmation or direction or response from a person and not a FAQ.

I like upwork but the app is unstable and constantly asking me to log in every other day
First of all, we like upsork but the app is not good . It asks me to sign in every other day. It’s the most annoying because I have to go through 10 steps to sign in as well and instead login being on the big screen, it’s create new account. What’s worst is that everytime it asks me to login, it won’t suggest my account and password. I have super long password that I don’t remember so it’s better if I just don’t use this app since I can’t sign in fast or at least keep signed in !
Full of bugs
The app is full of bugs. It’ll stop letting you click and scroll, and getting things done on it is very hard. The website does the exact same thing, just in different ways.
Best Place For Freelancers
Upwork is the best market place for the Freelancers. Secured Payment System, Professional Clients, Time tracking system. I am enjoying so much to using this platform.
Poor Freelancer defense
I had a very disappointing experience With Upwork fixed price dispute process. I completed and submitted work for $225 milestone. But the client disputed the work because the design direction, not necessarily that the work wasn’t completed how they in that it couldn’t be updated for the final. I submitted my proof through all the files and showed all of the evidence. Upward said they do not evaluate the quality of the completeness of the work, yet they recommended. I only received $56 for the completed work while refunding the client $168. After declining that settlement, the next step was arbitration costing $337 per party. More than the entire milestone being. It makes it economically unfeasible to pursue small contracts, especially when it leans heavily towards the client versus protect protecting the free worked on. I’ve simply lost full confidence in the app and their ability to protect their users I would highly recommend those considering two use the app, to reconsider.

Cant buy connects on app
It’s exciting to see all the jobs available but unless you have an invite, there is no way to apply without buying connects, the needing the connections isn’t an issue, but on the app you cant purchase connects or subscribe for a monthly plan….theres no “Purchase”/“confirm purchase” option…..how am i meant to buy….😓

Pay to Win
Used to be great, now I need to spend money on “Connects” in order to apply for jobs. I am not spending money to work. Upwork has been ruined by capitalism like everything else and I will be switching to a different platform.
Hangs everytime
Overall it’s good app with qualitative peoples, but App Hangs everytime we scroll the short listed proposal.
Trouble with the login function
Since a few months the log in function stopped working properly. Face ID no longer works and when trying to reenable it says “due to technical difficulties …” every other day the app forgets my username.

Unethical app
You have to pay to apply to each job. Then the app takes a cut of your hourly pay
Connnects are a bit cheeky
Paying to bid on jobs is a bit cheeky when we also pay 10% fees to Upwork. But I can see the merit of stopping spamming and the connects are are no more than a postage stamp for an overseas letter. The App works well. For some reason I am locked into an hourly fee submission and can’t see how to submit per project. But overall good quality of projects to bid on and the workflow is sound.
Keeps showing error
It’s frustrating me now. My chatrooms fail to load, my contracts, invitations, proposals, alerts nothing are loading up. It keeps showing error.
Payments
Although the main functions of the platform are excellent, making payments to my account is very frustrating and there’s little signs of customer support

Does not work
Would be one star except the push notifications work for some reason but nothing else in the app does. Inevitably after a few days max I get kicked back to the login screen and every time I log in I just get kicked back to the login screen again. Mildly infuriating

Very costly for a new comer, connects are really expensive. It’s like you are broke get a job. I don’t have job thats why I am here.

I created my upwork account recently and have submitted 8-10 proposals. Excited for the response so that I can get to work quick. The app and their website are very user friendly. Now let’s hope I get some jobs.

My experience
Overall, the platform is fantastic in terms of functionality and UX. You could easily get through virtually anything from one click away. Likewise, the chat, proposal feature (terrific). However, the platform seems utterly extractive. The “connect “ finishes way too quickly and no consideration for proposals that were paid for but instantly got canceled by the client. I have a lot of reservations here but can’t register all my displeasures unfortunately sad. To conclude, I thoroughly enjoyed the workings of the platform, nevertheless, it’s a money grab.

This app’s always waking wasting my time. I hire a lot of people on Upwork, but this app won’t stay logged in.

It is SO buggy
I dread using Upwork. Not because the talent is bad or anything with the service, but because the app is horrible! It is so slow, it lags, it doesn’t auto refresh… it is necessary to close and re-open again to get a new message or update. The desktop version is slightly better but people are on the go. Hire someone on Upwork to fix your app!

Phenomenal app for IT freelancing
Upwork’s latest updates, specifically the paid consultations feature and the project catalog, are a massive win for senior engineers. It completely removes the friction of the traditional hiring cycle. Bidding is straightforward, payments are locked in via milestones, and you are positioned as an authority from minute one. If you want to bypass the noise and focus entirely on executing high-value backend architecture, these tools change the game entirely.
Never works
Never works: says Error 403 (N) when I try to view a proposal or schedule a meeting. And having to log in every single time you exit the app is such a hassle. Worst app ever.
