Laggy/Unreliable
I’ve have banked with Carter Bank for many years, have not had any issues. I use the mobile app to keep track of transactions, credit score, etc. I’ve noticed the app is laggy, like from the early 2000s and was never updated. I try to access my transactions under my debit card and it takes forever to load, and I notice the loading screen is glitchy. It is slow and hard to navigate. (Please don’t say it’s my phone- I have an iPhone 16 pro max) Imagine using a 3rd party app with malware. That’s how it feels to use Carter Bank Mobile. Also, I have had my account access restricted SO many times because I incorrectly entered my password or username ONCE. And calling the help desk takes forever. Other banking apps are quick and efficient. They aren’t laggy, they are easy to use. Carter Bank, do better.

Carters bank
Carters bank is unlike any other bank in the United States. When every other bank balances accounts at 1 pm. Carters waits until 12 midnight. They balance your withdrawal before they add your deposit. This is how they make so much money on overdraft fees.if you have a direct withdrawal coming out for that day. It will be taken out before any deposit is added. But it gets better. If you have a direct deposit going in on Friday, you will not see your money until Monday morning. But you will see overdraft fees for any purchases you make during the weekend. Carter will keep up with your purchases, they just won’t honor your deposit. They will tell you your company is at fault but this is a lie. But it gets better. Let’s say you pay a direct withdrawal bill and this slightly overdrafts your account. Carters may not pay the bill but they will charge you an overdraft fee and they will charge you as many times as the payment is trying to come out of your account. This is why every other banking system cuts off at 1 pm in the afternoon. It gives the consumer time to make a deposit or check their account, before midnight. But it gets better. Carters staff will ignore your calls or messages when you figure out their crooked schemes. I know because I have been through all of it. Carters preys on the individual who lives paycheck to paycheck. Consumer beware and if you are on a fixed income I suggest Capital One for your banking needs.

Love mobile app only thing is when u making a mobile deposit it need to be better at warning u that need to write on the back make it to Carter bank ! I got very frustrated I couldn’t make one , didn’t know that’s what u had to do , I don’t know why
Slow as can be
Each page loads dreadfully slow, some pages just give network error with no explanation. I'm on wifi with 5g+ ATT and it's ridiculously slow and glitchy.
Terrible business
Bank is behind time. Debit card constantly gets declined for no reason. 800 number help can never solve the problem. On line account access constantly cannot verify user name and or password!!! Unbelievable!!!

Lack of Quality
Consistently locked out of my account, I am probably going to move my money to a new bank. Open the app to log in and when I type my password in I get the message that an error has occurred. Definitely not impressed. There is no point in having a mobile app if it’s not going to work.
Carter needs a branch
Presently CB&T patrons who live in Siler Coty NC must travel to Sanford (30 minute drive) to deposit cash or do other bank business. Please give us a branch in Siler City! Sincerely, Gwen Overturf

Not business user friendly
This is a good app if you only items to check balances or transfer between Carter accounts. Trying to set up payments to anything external, whether to other banks or use of Zelle, only gets you frustration because the app won’t let you do those things. This is the most inconvenient bank and app for a business. Definitely don’t recommend it.
Glitching
First the Face ID doesn’t work I have to call a 866 number now I can’t even access my account at all. Keeps saying try again later or call. The app was great at the beginning but y’all keep making changes which is screwing up the app smh! I have to go online on the actual website to check my accounts. Shouldn’t have to do that since I have the app!

I’ve always loved Carter Bank trust I am sad that it is no longer on ninth Street because that was very convenient here in Roanoke, and I miss the people they were genuinely friendly every time! Dana Lori all of them even Jennifer when she was there, ! Always very helpful! So you guys do pretty good as far as I concerned

There bank never shows the actually amount that’s in my account, late fees from even 1 cent! Scamming ppl is how I see it! This company lost my business, cause for yrs I been losing my money to them when I hardly got money from my health issues not be able to make as much as I would like to pay bills to began with! Highly upset! I won’t recommend ever!
