Calory App Helps See Progress
Great app overall. Scan food, barcodes is amazing. Need to be able to retroactively enter start weight. Maybe there’s a way but I couldn’t see it. I wrote the UX team. Will update if I get a response. Cheers. Since July 2 2026 I’ve lost 10 lb. It’s Aug 19. Success. I must have been eating like a cow🤦♀️
Paywalled
Used to use this app all the time and loved it but now it’s completely paywalled. Extremely disappointed and will no longer recommend to anyone 💔
Great for general logging!
This app is great for general logging! I love the simple layout of filling the circle visuals. Search as quick and simple. However, the AI and speech to text options, lack accuracy, causing you to double check measurements and food sources. Wish it was more accurate from that standpoint.

Offline Could be better
This is a great app that I found for counting calories. The one I usually use needs internet just to log anything except water. Offline could definitely be better, when I try to find meals a lot of them don’t show up so I just go off the ingredients that I know are in the food which still helps. It’s just that for the meals or snacks that I know I needed internet to find, it doesn’t let me edit it on a new day except for the serving I did when I had internet. That’s a few gripes I have about this app. It’s a good one for if you don’t have service for a long while.

I’ve used this app for a few years now throughout highschool and college, the swap to ai and the app not being usable unless you pay id so unbelievably disappointing. Why is everything a subscription why not make it a one time purchase considering ai is doing the work for you. Switching back to another app because of this.
Love it BUTT
Every time my weight goes down, the app doesn't update properly to show that I've lost weight. For example, if it previously said "40 lbs gained" and my weight drops, it just changes to "31.7 lbs gained." It would make a lot more sense and be much more motivating if the app accurately switched to showing how much weight was actually lost instead of always framing it as "gained." Please fix this tracking logic it’s so discouraging because you don’t see progress if the app still sees it as something that needs to be lost !
Forced paywall prevents usage
I used to be a subscriber but coming back to the app after a year I suddenly can’t access anything as you just get a forced paywall that wants you to sign up. I hate this new pattern all the apps are adopting where you have to subscribe (with a trial) to even access the thing. Yet you have no way of knowing if it’s for you yet! Plus, at almost double the price it was previously it’s a no from me. I do remember it being a great app though.
Not logging caffeine
I was excited to use this app but it isn’t logging caffeine with pre selected drinks like monster and Dr Pepper and I don’t see a way to edit it
Good app
App is easy to use and navigate. It did take me a few poke around to understand how it work. The customer service is good. It will take them maybe 2-3 days to respond to requests or questions.
Used to be free, bait and switch
The app used to be free with limited features. Now they force you to pay a subscription model to even install the app at all.
Lifetime Subscriber…👍🏾
I use this app multiple times a day every day. It’s basically part of my digital EDC setup. It’s very useful for anyone with nutritional health issues or concerns. As diabetics my wife and I find Calory to be indispensable. I have had a Lifetime Subscription for several years now.
App is fine.
The app has a very visually appealing design, and I like the way it presents tracking and progress, it feels modern and motivating at first glance. However, the onboarding experience was frustrating. When signing up, the app repeatedly pushed a paid subscription and free trial. Even after pressing the “X,” I was met with prompts like “Not ready to commit?” followed by another discount offer, instead of being taken directly to the free version. It took several attempts just to access the free features, which was unnecessarily time-consuming and off-putting. Unfortunately, the food logging experience was also difficult. Searching for something simple like “sausage sandwich” returned hundreds of unrelated or overly specific entries, none of which matched a basic meal. Manual entry wasn’t much better, as it required knowing and inputting every ingredient and calorie individually. As someone who works part-time while studying at university, this isn’t practical or efficient to do at the end of a long day. Overall, while the app looks great and has potential, the aggressive paywall and cumbersome food tracking make it hard to recommend in its current state. I hope future updates focus on improving accessibility, search accuracy, and ease of use.
Don’t buy premium
Good app but don’t buy premium for two very simple and large reasons: 1. The app constantly forgets you have premium and makes you restore your purchase now, creating a ton of friction. This essentially never happened before and now it’s several times a week. 2. You can’t even automatically log a specific thing every day without premium PLUS, whatever that is. This feature requires no server costs and no continued development. The more well known apps are less annoying about their subscriptions. Can’t believe I have to restore my purchases constantly, then get upsold for another subscription. Consider one of those.
Better Than MyFitnessPal
Love this tracker. I’ve used MyFitnessPal for 20 years and was looking for another app when MFP started charging for every feature. Tried so many and they all dropped the ball. This is by far the best one I’ve tried. Has all the features I want and is easy to use.

Great app with a minor flaw
This app is simple to use and looks nice. However, you cannot correct food items if the calories or nutrients is incorrect. I wish there was either a way to correct it or at least a way to report wrong information.
Now is trying to charge me
Had this for a year and it worked great. Upgraded my phone and now it’s trying to charge me to use it. What a lame app.
Love the simplicity; but lifetime membership was a scam.
I love this app and have used it for over 4 years now. I loved it so much I bought the lifetime subscription. That was great for about 2 years until they started gating new features behind another tier of subscription. Lifetime means lifetime; don’t be greedy Calory.
Best one to keep track
Not bloated like other apps. Easy to navigate and straight to the point.

Its good
I love the UI, the balls that show how many calories you’ve had everyday is really cool. I don’t like that you have to pay for premium to track extra macros like protein.
All the functionality
But such an unintuitive interface. It all seems to work fine but it’s as though the user interface had been designed by an artificial intelligence of a block of wood. I hate the oversized pictures of various foods that take up so much real estate on a small screen. Sort it out and this app would be extremely good.
AI function is not great
I brought a higher level to test out the AI, and the model doesn’t recognized any common asian veggie and dishes. You are better off to use other AIs to break it down for you, but user interface is still very nice! I do hope you can improve the barcode scanning options. It was keep crashing out, and it can pull in the wrong item? The search button can be buggy. I mainly stayed because of overall UI, but food database and AI tools are lacking compared to other apps.
The easiest calorie tracker!
So easy to use. Keeps it simple so you can keep tracking without getting overwhelmed or becoming a burden. The only tracker I have used that I actually enjoy using.
Can't use for free anymore
I really like this app but I used to be able to use it for free, now I can't go past the part where it asks you to start a free trial. Very disappointing because this has always been my favorite calorie tracker
Great app with annoying misses
I love the app. Using it is easy and features are comprehensive. I just wish the food database was better ( it actually got worse with latest update but I’m sure that’s a bug) and have a scan shortcut in the menu. Can’t tell you how many times I tapped on fasting icon looking for the scan barcode ….
Disappointed Lifetime Purchaser
Recently I spent roughly £100 for lifetime purchases on three of Funn Media’s apps, including £34.99 on Calory. I understand that AI has an ongoing cost to developers. But Calory 3.0, by adding AI food tracking as its main feature, leaves me feeling like a second class user every time Calory tells me I should ‘upgrade’ to gain access to new features. I would much rather the developers had avoided the AI gravy train and instead added support for Bluetooth scales. Apart from anything, AI food tracking through photo scanning, removes an essential part of the food tracking process: the considered, mindful assessment of what is being consumed. I am now in fear of what they are planning on adding to their other apps in order to try to force me into a subscription on top of my already hefty one time investment. Luckily I have zero interest in AI features. Not least because AI integration into apps feels like a race to the bottom as well as a potential risk to user privacy.
Great app, if a bit buggy
I’ve been using this app for more than a year and there’s a lot I like about it. The Apple Watch app, widgets, counting of burned calories, and it’s simpler design than all the competitors who plaster their services with ads about fitness and the latest fad diets. However the delay between opening the app and the calories burned syncing is very annoying, and this also only happens on the phone app and not the watch app, so I end up using it less because I know the calorie count will be off until I open the phone app and wait 10+ seconds. The iPad app is also borderline unusable with UI views that are just broken.
Visual clarity
Easy to use and I love the visual representation of progress toward my daily target. It’s motivating and has kept me on track for 2 weeks so far. It’s customizable either way several different options on what info is displayed, colors, including macro tracking or not, etc.
Get rid of the AI
This was the best calorie tracking app out there until you idiots decided to add AI to it. Way to ruin your product.
Almost perfect…almost
Really good app, simple and clear. Two things prevent a 5 star review: 1. Doesn’t allow weight logging in stones for UK users. 2. Needs profiles within app so family members can log within one app on one device.
Bring back the feature which said how many weeks to reach the target weight at pace
Please stop randomly removing features , probably one of the best apps for logging calories but plagued by suddenly pulling features out Bring back the feature where i can customize the pace of gaining weight by moving the slider to set number of weeks to achieve the target weight, it helped me in visualizing the time range
Improvements required for AI and UI
The app works well but there’s some serious improvements required primarily in updating it to match the Liquid Glass UI especially the bottom nav bar to make it feel like a more seamless and native app on iOS, currently the UI looks quite dated in comparison to competitors such as FitBee. Another improvement required is that the main home screen should break the meals down by category (breakfast, lunch, dinner etc) which you can only access by going to the history tab. Also the AI algorithm needs some work, it often underestimates food, so fine tuning to a superior model would definitely help in this regard. Plus a direct Shortcut to the AI scanner would be useful as often scanning meals can be a cumbersome process. Currently the only shortcut available is to open the camera which opens to barcode scanning mode but it should go directly to the AI food scanner.
Lost 18 lbs since 3/28/26
I started using this app 3/28/26. I was struggling to lose weight. It all comes down to calculations. Working out is important but this app and eating in a healthy deficit with realistic goals has been the only thing to truly work. It’s 6/25/26 right now & I am 5 lbs away from the goal I set in the app.
Used to be amazing
I downloaded several years ago and bought the premium package so I would be able to scan food barcodes. Now I have to buy access to barcodes AGAIN? No, thank you
Apple Watch abilities are lacking
Love this app so much. Just wish the Apple Watch version had as many options as the phone version. For example: being able to input a specific amount of calories instead just 10s (ie, 214 instead of 210, etc) and being able to input your water intake. Otherwise, a great app overall
Food menu
It’s a great app I love using it but the problem is there not a lot of our food menu on here I’m in SA. Like I’m taking lady shake nd lady bars and liteneasy, hope u can update your food menu..
No longer free
So, I used this on a few of my phones. There was a completely free version of just basic calorie counting, and now you want to charge monthly and include everything… Shame.

Why would you do that. It WAS the best tracker. Why does EVERYTHING require a subscription these days? Esp when the features were previously FREE.
Good enough
The best feature about the app is the little animation which subconsciously tells your how much you have consumed. The food search is a little slow and have to open each food to check the calories before adding however overall a very good app. :)

Great tool, but let down by AI
The app is great for tracking when manually entering weights and macros, really nice interface and presentation with some nice customisation options. 5stars compared to MFP on this. but 0 stars on the AI scanning, this cannot even closely input calories and details, the outputs are so wildly off, it would destroy someones efforts to lose weight.
Very good but
I really like this app. It’s almost perfect but has a few snags. First, recipes are not integrated into logging food. They give you the serving data but doesn’t seem possible to log a single serving. Second, scanning is not always linked correctly. The option will sometimes be wrong as it doesn’t include nutrition scan in the food selection page but defaults to it if it was the last one used. Third, add favorites is a bit mysterious.
Not accurate
A friend recommended this app to me. I’m in my free trial, day one and it’s not accurate. When I take a picture of a product, the name is correct but the nutritional values are off. And the barcode scanning isn’t working. It’s just force quitting on me every time I use it. It’s not convenient if I have to manually input every item when it recognizes the item, but the facts aren’t matching.

Such a great app! It’s just missing that barcode scanner / UK food database search like MyFitnessPal or Lose It! I’ll immediately come back when that’s been implemented
Can scan foods
I press the plus bottom and go to press the scan bars code button and all it dose it take me back to the home page, you don’t have all the foods and now I can even scan it how is this ment to work
Nice app with some issues
I think what this app has going for it is the strong UI, but recent updates have actually made the overall design worse and the user experience buggier. It was fine before version 4.0 and now it’s just okay. I kind of feel like the app has an identity issue. It should focus on doing one thing really well instead of doing lots of things badly. Unfortunately I can see the app becoming less focused and more cluttered over time, and if that happens I don’t see a reason to use it over alternatives. Developers should focus on making it the calorie and weight tracker with the best and simplest interface. They call it Calory AI but it doesn’t really have any AI features, and besides, does anybody actually want AI in their calorie tracker? It’s not the first thing on my wish list… It might be handy for the app to actually analyse my diet and suggest improvements or personalised tips, or provide breakdowns of when and how often I eat certain foods, but it doesn’t do those things, and like I said there are other things I’d prefer the developers to focus on. Also, one fairly major issue I’ve encountered several times is that sometimes the app loses track of some entries which is very annoying especially because it affects your averages over the month/year etc. i am using the UK database if that is of any relevance. Overall, the app is fine. Devs have done a good job so far but hopefully the development going forward retains some focus.
