Fantastic stuff!
I installed MusicHarbor yesterday and it has already proven itself to be way more useful than I had anticipated! My only complaint is the app only seems to show new releases for artists that are already in your collection. It would be great if it tapped into the Apple Music “New Releases For You” feature as well.

Despite the response to a previous review there is no option to follow twenty artists to try out the app without paying a subscription.
Loved it, but…
Had this for a year, but just cancelled the renewal. It’s a good app, just not worth $20 annually.
Good app but too pricey
$20/year for an app like this is an absolute ripoff. The service is not that involved so this price is above and beyond what it is worth. It’s too bad because it’s a pretty good app, it’s just way overpriced and the free version doesn’t let you add enough artists
Features
This app is great, I’ve had it for some time now. Just two quick things I want to say: Bring back ALL of the app icons we paid for. And if possible, bring colored accents to the UI and that sort.
Fantastic New Music Tracker
Simply the best and cleanest way to fight the algorithms cluttering modern streaming apps. I have used this app without issue for years and regularly recommend it to friends. It is a great way to track the artists you care about that is thoughtfully designed and maintained by a responsive developer.
Very aggressive paywall
It’s hard to even try the app without paying first. Importing artists from a streaming service requires payment but that’s not clear until you grant access. Too much friction and seems too expensive until I’ve without being able to fully try it. edit: I’ve manually added some bands to follow and see that there is a paywall to see their news too. I heard that there are limits to the amount of artists you can follow until you upgrade as well. Offering a free trial might be a good option so we can test the value of the service before continuously being upsold.

I purchased MusicHarbor a couple of weeks ago and I’m glad I did. It complements Apple Music beautifully. It’s my go-to app for checking new releases by the many artists I follow. Another reviewer said they find new music they wouldn’t have found without following record labels - I’ll be giving that a try as I haven’t done so yet. What a great piece of software this is; it doesn’t cost the earth, it does exactly what it says on the tin, and it does it very well indeed!
Good, but deceiving
While I love what this app does, they need to be upfront that the import feature is premium. I spent about 30 minutes meticulously selecting artists from my Apple Music Library then when I finally finished and clicked import, it asks me for $20 a year. This angered me quite a bit.
Not a fan of a new feature
Used to find this app so easy to use, but a recent update now forces me to select from various artists options before upload. The selection option appears to function like a radio-button, I can only choose 1 option. Because I listen to mostly international music there are frequently multiple name spellings for a single artist or group but I cannot select multiple options, am required to choose only 1. This forces me to perform the import artist from Spotify process multiple times to get every variant for a single artist. I’m hoping the devs do away with this feature.
Removing the distraction
It would be hard to overstate how good all the Loop Apps are (MusicHarbor, MusicBox, and MusicSmart). I would really like to see a single app combining the features of all three though. The main benefit here is the straightfoward presentation. Most of this info is available in streaming services, but it's crowded out by AI generated garbage and other "features".
Crashes
MusicHarbor was once a great app, but now it regularly crashes at startup. It’s been like this for months. Please fix!
Great, BUT…
This app is perfect for music lovers who follow a large amount of artists especially and it gives you peace of mind to not miss anything. The only SMALL issue I’ve found is in my time zone (central) releases don’t update until midnight, even though releases are at 11pm central. If it would update at the actual release time it’d be perfect

Which is disappointing. No longer updates your artists and you can’t manually add artists without paying subscription
Frustrating bug
I really like the app, but every time I try to go the following tab...it crashes. It had been happening for months.
Works phenomenally
This is my go to system for keeping track of what new music is going to be released, and what album were recently released. I like that I can import artists from multiple sources.
Refuses to integrate with Spotify & help is non-existent
I’ve uninstalled the app and reinstalled, restarted it, restarted my MacBook, reset to default settings, etc. yet every time I try to integrate with Spotify I get the same unhelpful error message that states it failed and to try again. The Help bar just opens a pop-up that says help isn’t available for the app. The FAQ within the app doesn’t address any integration issues. And the support link from the App Store doesn’t provide any support- it just links you to a site telling you how amazing the app is. I’ve never been so frustrated before with a macOS app!
Spotify Syncing Glitch
I love this app and it has always been great for organizing new releases every week, but for the past two weeks for some reason there has been a glitch where adding all of the music from the week into my Spotify playlist isn’t working. I would love to get this fixed, I have tried almost every possible thing I could think of and can’t seem to figure out what is wrong. Besides this slight issue, still love the app, everything is clean and easy to navigate, keep up the good work!
“Follow Unlimited Artists” IF you start paying
This used to be a 5 star app for me, until the developers decided to quietly neuter how many artists you can follow. It used to be as many as you want. The limit now seems to be 20. Anything more and you are prompted to start a subscription. I would be willing to pay a flat fee to use this app, but not a monthly subscription. I found that I suddenly couldn’t add any more artists. I tried removing an artist to add another and was still prompted to subscribe. Thinking it was a bug, I cleared all my data and redownloaded the app. I started adding artists again until I hit 20 and can add no more. Very disappointed that the developers were not transparent with the change, and nowhere on the app page does it say that following unlimited artists requires a subscription.
Love the app but…
I love this app. It’s my absolute go-to for new releases but I can only use it on one iCloud device. I get the same error anytime I try to sync iCloud: “Failed to fetch some records”.
Must Have For Music Enthusiasts!!!
MusicHarbor is hands-down one of the best music companion apps on iOS. If you care even a little bit about staying up to date with your favorite artists, this app is essential. The release tracking is insanely good—new singles, albums, EPs, features, even surprise drops are all surfaced cleanly and reliably. No clutter, no algorithm nonsense, just exactly what you want to know, when you want to know it. The UI is beautiful, fast, and thoughtfully designed. It feels native, polished, and intentional in a way so many apps miss. Everything is easy to scan, easy to act on, and genuinely enjoyable to use. Notifications are perfectly tuned (finally). You don’t get spammed, but you also never miss a release that matters. And the integration with Apple Music and Spotify makes it effortless to jump straight into listening. MusicHarbor feels like it was built by someone who actually loves music—not just data. It respects your time, your taste, and your attention. If you’re the kind of person who gets excited about new releases, follows artists closely, or just wants to stay in the loop without the noise, download this immediately. Five stars without hesitation!!!
Rip-off
Edit: Response to dev response: While it is true that you keep the individual features you bought, switching the ability to track artists to a subscription model is the issue. It’s the core function of the app. I only purchased the additional features on the pretense that I was able to use the app for what the app was designed to do. So this is very much a bait and switch. “Here’s what our app does! Love it? Support us by buying some extra features. Hey, thanks for your support, but we went ahead and put the entire reason you use the app behind a paywall now. But don’t worry, you can keep your custom icons and stuff” See how that’s an issue? —————— I was one of the earliest users of this app. I deleted it a while back after they made some changes, but redownloaded it recently to give it another try. To my surprise, even though I’m an early supporter and I bought all their in-app purchases back then, they now want me to pay a very expensive subscription to use the app how I was able to in the past. If you start charging a subscription, you should never take away features from current users that paid money for the app and helped support it from the start. Terrible.

Disappointing after being useful for awhile
I have been an avid user of this app since launch. I follow a lot of older artists - most of them don’t release new music. I try to follow new artists I find and can’t. I get hit with the must subscribe screen. I’ve tried to unfollow artists to see if that changes anything…it doesn’t. App is almost useless to me now. Very disappointing.
Nützliche App...aber noch keine 5 Sterne
Ich habe nach einer App gesucht, die eine bessere Möglichkeit bietet, neue Musik zu finden. Allerdings hat die App noch nicht alle 5 Sterne verdient, ich folge 100er-Künstler und dennoch werden mir nicht alle Neuerscheinungen dieser Künstler angezeigt, sodass ich immer noch auf den einzelnen Künstler gehen und nach neuer Musik suchen muss. Falls sich die App besser entwickelt, hat sie auch defintiv die restlichen zwei Sterne verdient.

this app should be a staple in ANY music lover’s library! Have been using it for years, and especially love the Calendar integration so I can always stay up-to-date with the newest releases.
Pay to Follow Unlimited Artists
Used to be a decent app, but now you can’t follow new artists without paying for their membership. Not worth it, considering other minor issues such as limited record labels to follow, new releases missing, and random songs being tagged to artists that are clearly not theirs.
Love it but want to see playback controls?
I tend to keep the system volume on my Mac high and use the individual playback volume in Music, etc to control music playback volume. Unfortunately, this doesn't have controls for start/stop, volume etc. Would love to see those added in the bottom left corner in the sidebar maybe? (Especially important to remember the custom volume between launches too.)
Way too pricey for lifetime
Good app, the price increase is really something though. It’s a shame it’s a subscription or a lifetime purchase of $60+ like everything else nowadays. What it does it does well it is but way too expensive for what it does.

can’t handle this app well. I hope my purchase here works in a yr or two; when I upgrade. I still haven't, but Apple Music has. This app was still helpful, but hardly a savior.
incredibly well designed app
musicharbor is the only yearly subscription i pay for. it’s well worth it and saves me a lot of time searching each week and helps show me things i would have entirely missed. my only issue is that i cannot change the ‘Sort By’ filter on ‘Released’ and ‘Upcoming’ individually. my only complaint. otherwise it’s incredibly well made and the dev puts a lot of work into it. 5 stars. 🎧🎧

Love the app but the Premium Pop is obnoxious
Seriously, this pop up for the Premium features has got to stop popping up every time I open the app. Once in a while is fine but every time is obnoxious and makes me come here and leave a less glowing review than I’d like to.

I’ve had this app a couple years, so much i paid for the unlock everything feature. And now I look and see y’all are subscription based which now you want me to subscribe when I had already unlocked everything 🤨. No!
Fix bug
Wenn man ein Album hört, möchte man gerne die Lieder auf Spotify hinzufügen. Das Problem ist, wenn bei Album ein Lied ausgewählt ist und man fügt die in Spotify hinzu. Dann Crash die app. Und kann nicht mehr gestartet werden. Sonst ist die App gut. Kauf Empfehlung.

Widgets broken
Widgets are completely broken in the latest release. Sigh
I really like the app - but it has app start problems
Sometimes on my iPhone 13 Mini with iOS 16 the app starts but it only shows the app icon but nothing else happens. But when I click on an upcoming album from the widget, it shows the album and the app is working. On the Mac with Ventura it never starts the app.
Excellent App For Music Lovers
Great for checking out new releases and upcoming albums, singles, ep’s. I like to look through artist catalogs and go through different time periods of music history. Have discovered a lot of great new music, both old and new, with MusicHarbor.
Widget/app broken
Since the release of iOS 17 the widget or the app won’t load. When trying to use the app it tries to load for about 10 seconds then crashes. Was such a great app until then. Hopefully there will be a patch soon.
Great app, almost perfect for my uses
Love the app. I use a few devices on the same iCloud account and the one feature that would really make this perfect is if the “Played” “Not Played” status of songs/albums were synced between devices. As far as I can tell, only the list of artists is synced via iCloud backup. I would do an IAP for this.
Brilliant but flawed
A great app when it works but the synchronisation between versions is awful. I am fed up marking albums I have already done on my Mac. For someone who has paid up for all services I expect better.
Mark all as viewed
Very handy app, but just stumbled across a rather disappointed design flaw. I open it after several months and there were heaps of Latest Releases to check out. Awesome. I filtered it down by one artist via search, checked out their latest albums, then used the option to Mark All As Viewed. Unfortunately, this didn't marked the items in the filtered state as viewed, but every single Latest Release. Now I've lost all the Latest Releases and have no way to discover what's new, which defeats the whole purpose of the app. It would be good if you could fix this as I'm sure other users may accidentally do the same.
Incredible app for anyone frustrated by Apple Music and Spotify’s lack of features
Like many people I find the lack of usability features in both Apple Music, and Spotify ridiculous and unbelievable. This app fills the void of so many missing features, particularly when it comes to tracking new albums from your favorite artist. Those other platforms do you have this to some degree but it’s pretty much incoherent and impossible to use. Also, this is one of the few apps I’ve used in my entire life where I try to get it to operate in a certain way, and it actually does. The developers of this app put it through rigorous testing and real world use and it show. I paid for it immediately and use it all the time. Thank you for making this.
Scam? - Purchased them blocked until purchase again at double cost
A paid app? Cool. Paid. Go to use it. “Sure just import some artists.” Go though all the steps of connecting to library, selecting playlist, selecting artists then … it stops and says no, that’ll be twice as much money as you already paid. So… the first charge was just to look T what they wanted to sell me? If not then the app is opaque.
Frustrated…
I really love this app but one thing is leaving me really frustrated when I use it… When I find a track I like and want to add it to the MusicHarbor playlist in Apple Music it puts the whole album in and I have to remove the tracks I don’t want! Can I not just add a separate track from an album to Appear Music? (I’ve purchased all the extra features for this practically perfect music finding app…). Response to this post will be really appreciated guys!
Concept was great but the app isn’t useable
The app constantly freezes on me. Sometimes I can’t do anything with it, at most, I’ll be able to change the tab once or twice before it freezes on me.

seems like a good app, however the upcoming page doesn’t work as nothing loads. i know of artists that are releasing songs in a matter of hours which aren’t up on this yet. is slightly disappointing as the whole reason i got this app was to be able to be notified when an artist was planning on releasing new music
