Ok but not useful
This really needs the function to sync with device calendars, if you have one child on one team it’s fine. But anything beyond that and it’s not user friendly because you have to switch accounts and can only see one event type at a time. Once there is the sync events (both matches and training) to a calendar and can see more than one child at a time it’ll be 4 probably even 5 star app but until then… and apparently this has been requested for a number of years now too, you can see the feature requests on the website!
Good but with a few issues.
I use the app for fixtures and availability which is great. One issue is when using live scores, e.g. goal for/against. Each time I get a notification of a new fixture instead of a live score update!!!

How the FA haven’t sorted this app out yet is beyond me. I’ve been a grassroots coach for 4 seasons and it’s literally never worked properly. Still can’t complete match stats after the game. Surely it can’t be hard to fix this- terrible app and wastes so much time trying to administer games.

This should be easy to use but it isn’t. I just want to change my address and add my photo but I have to contact my club to do so, which is a massive faff.

Password resets dont work
Best you remember your password guys…if you forget it and have to get a verification code…the codes dont work one bit. Tried several times. This app is awful

I was more happy when u guys check the match that is official a player or manager whatever you used to sign in
Removes sessions
App has started to remove my weekly training sessions before the session has taken place so I can’t see how many players are expected to attend. Please fix this.
Match stats
Still seems to be issue with the match stats doesn’t allow you to update the stats. Have to switch to full time to finish it. Can this be looked into please because other then that it great app.

Truly awful
Just spent 30 mins trying to set up a set of training dates. Have given up. It’s such a hateful experience using this app as a grassroots manager when it doesn’t need to be. A simple web interface for admin tasks would help massively. Gets one star for the match stats part being able to record goals / assists in real time. Albeit that isn’t the greatest experience ever. Forced to use the app to play in our youth league, so have little alternative option sadly.

The app is good for updating fixtures and timings rather than using a 3rd party app and having to transfer all the information. My issues are with the statistics after the match. When I reply to the generic text message from the FA at full time this score is updated on the Matchday app, then when you add your player statistics and add goal scorers these goals get added to the full time result 😔
Has potential
I have used this app for a couple of seasons, it’s not great but equally it’s not the worst out there either. I genuinely think there is a great little app with a few developer changes… 1) sort the loading and comparability issues out, there is a general issue with loading the app and I have found on IOS changes this takes too long and gets frustrating quickly. 2) there has to be an easier way to pre load locations and details about home grounds to make comms easier for grassroots coaches. 3) needs a calendar function so training can be put on there well in advance and cut down on repetition and having to click your way through all the time. 4) change colours/fonts for different things to make things stand out better. 5) make multiple accounts (e.g. a parent who is a coach) flow better as currently way too clunky. 6) make the match function better - if you really think a coach has time to go on the app to live time goals, subs, incidents then the devs need a reality check. 7) inputting stats and ratings after the match - really frustrating experience and this for me personally is where it crashes the most. 8) coach to coach comms capability - would help arranging games if the home ground preload was better (incl location/pitch type/toilets/changing rooms etc) and things like kit colours were included too to save admin in the week. Hope that helps
New season
This is my first time using this app and I think it’s going to be great great season for us.
Works sometimes
Doesn’t always work, seems to glitch a lot and lose data that’s been input previous. Need to check several times after inputting data to make sure it’s submitted properly. Should be much easy to navigate

Great for looking at fixture information but that’s it. It would be great if you could sync to a calendar.
App ok for parents and coaches but not too helpful for club secretaries.
Is a great idea and fantastic that it links to fulltime. A few things that would help improve the app 1: only add players to the squad that are actually registered and allowed to play and 2: a way for secretaries/chairs even parents with more than one child at each club to be able to see all club fixtures on one page rather than having to keep switching accounts. This would make such a difference and save so much time.

Not very user friendly, slow and clunky
Ok but results table is buggy
Useful for keeping track of kids’ fixtures. But if you switch profiles the results table gets stuck on the previous profile. Have to fully close app to switch to other league table. App store support link goes to 404 page not found. Link needs updating.

Referee glitch please fix
When filling in match report, despite a registered referee being assigned to the game and appearing, the final screen won’t allow you to progress unless you tick “unassigned official” and fill in.
Two teams
I’ve only got two teams and the app shows the wrong fixtures when I switch teams. There are no location or team colour details so can’t even tell where the games are taking place
What’s happened
What’s happened to this app, all teams now have the same badge (England badge) . Can’t see league results.
Missing lots of features
Would be useful to have the following features:- a) “add fixture to calendar” that saves to my iOS calendar. That way it’d integrate with all the navigation apps which already have access to the calendar. B) have a site map of the fixture venue, we attend lots of venues with 6 or more pitches. Having this would help a lot. C) access to the league table WITHOUT having to browse to Fulltime website. D) see the live results and f other games in my league. E) access to my FanID
Notifications do not work
My husband runs a grassroots football team and I’m signed up to the Matchday app as a parent for our son. When he updates the app with new training sessions or change the location of training sessions. I don’t receive any notifications or emails. All my notifications are turned on. Is this a know issue or does what I’m asking to happen just not exist?
Great when it works
Great when it works, frequently has issues with not connecting fixtures from full time, showing none available but still sending notifications for them. With no fixtures available it becomes a pointless app.

Very poor app. Full of glitches that make the role of a volunteer manager/coach ten times harder. Well done FA
Good but could be better
App is good but 2 things I would urge the developers to look at. 1) You can see availability for each friendly and each training session without having to click into the instance, but for league matches you can’t. You only see the availability bar for the next match. This means that you have to click into the fixture- which isn’t intuitive and also you can’t easily see whether you have set your availability or not. 2) When scrolling through the list of fixtures or training sessions, the date at the top of each instance sometimes scrolls up so you can’t see it and there doesn’t seem to be any way to scroll each instance so the date is hidden.
