Life changing
I do everything I possibly can to provide for my family and I have a 30 minute uphill walk home from work after a 2 hour train journey I was honestly reduced to tears when I saw a randomly appeared motorised bike service on my street this morning I CANNOT BELIEVE MY LUCK THANKYOU THANKYOU THANKYOU THANKYOU THANKYOU THANKYOU
Great idea…when it works!
Twice now I have gone to use these bikes in Stevenage and the first time the bike wouldn’t unlock, second time it wouldn’t end the bike and kept coming up with “something went wrong”. All the while I’m left with the Beryl app stuck open on my phone and the charge going up. In the time it took for someone to get back to me and resolve it, I could have just walked. The bikes themselves are great, and the idea is awesome.
Good app and service
The app could be improved. My main want is a live GPS feature when you’re just on the app so you can see exactly where you are in relation to bike stations nearby. If you don’t know an area of the city well it’s really hard to figure out where you are stood to know where to head to find a bike!
Extremely broken app or made to scam
It’s a shame because I use the service regularly and the bikes are usually quite good it’s just the app. Like others have already said on here most of the time when I try ending a ride it will come up with “something went wrong try again” and the timer is still ticking while this is going on as well as the loading screens so if you turned you phone off after unlocking and then turned it back on to end it you’d have to wait for the “tips” screen to go away to end the ride. The bike locks though despite the error message so the ending the ride definitely went through. Makes it seem like it was designed intentionally like this.All this just ends up costing extra money or minutes and it piles up. They are really good at helping you and refund or just stop the timer when you arrived there but it is still quite inconvenient.
Good but be careful
Generally good service, been using them for years, spent thousands but unfortunately due to a mistake I made when I was younger where I tried to use someone other than mine’s ID to unlock a scooter, after they finally realized I am now forever banned from even using bikes which I relied on heavily to get around and to work, read the terms and conditions and don’t mess about, these people don’t give second chances.

IMPOSSIBLE TO GET A REFUND
Horrible customer service bike was on one bar of charge and was bearly moving and had a grinding problem in the back wheel and automatically stopped in a no stop zone charging me 10 pounds extra horrible app stick to lime
Needs improvement
Get ready to hear “something went wrong, please try again later”, especially when you are late for work. The chat function is extremely valuable, but they are only open certain hours so good luck after 9pm. I’ve been using beryl daily now for 6 months. Overall the app is very buggy and slow, there seems to be a lot of disconnection between what’s happening on a vehicle vs what’s happening on the app. There have been multiple instances when the app is showing vehicles are available on the map, but none of the vehicles unlock. There have also been many instances where I’ve unlocked a vehicle which doesn’t seem to be working but I’m still being charged on the app (which is eventually refunded when I contact support, but still an inconvenience). Also the pricing seems somewhat unfair. If you buy a longer pass like 2 or 3 months, you get to use your minute balance across all the different vehicle types and it will use the same amount of minutes regardless of the vehicle used. However, there is a huge discrepancy between a normal pedal bike and an E scooter in terms of the pay as you go price. I often feel like using the pedal bike while I have a pass is a “waste” of money and opt for using the E scooter. Beryl should consider the pedal bike using half of the minutes in your balance to encourage more people to use the pedal bikes when they have passes.

Buggy as anything
Forever running in to glitches. Says on maps bikes are available but then when you get there no bikes available to unlock etc etc etc
Love but hate
I really love using the beryl bikes but the app is very unreliable, when you try to end the ride it takes agesssss, by that the minutes keep losing just by locking the bike, it is the gps that doesnt update accurately. Would love you to fix this problem as it isnt just me thats happening to. Also the prices are quite horrendous, despite the fact that the bikes are quite slow aswell or something is wrong with the bikes.
Super convient- when it works
9/10 it takes me about 3-4 mins to end a ride because each time it says “there was a problem, try again later”. Very frustrating.

No good if you don’t have a photo license
Can’t ride a scooter because I don’t have a photographic license, but I’ve been driving for 36 years with a full and advanced license. You’d think they’d let you verify your license along with your passport that has a photo on it and cross reference with our DVLA driver number. 🤨 Prefer a 🛴 because the bikes 🚲 seats don’t stay up. Can’t be that hard to verify a person with two forms of ID 🪪 passport + paper license

The ID verification never works for me not sure what it is but it just doesn’t work at all make the app unusable.
SO UNRELIABLE!
Ultimately 1-star as relying on these bikes will ruin any plans you ever have. Most of the time they simply don’t work. App is inaccurate and says bikes are available when they’re not. Ending ride unreliable.
