A Great Adaptation, But the Choices are an Illusion
The game is incredibly faithful to the original book, aside from a few minor character additions and some creative liberties taken to give everyone more compelling backstories. My only real issue is with the beginning. The game baits you into playing by making you believe you can choose your own romantic ending. You are presented with a choice that feels important but doesn’t actually matter at the end of the day. Overall, it’s a great game and a solid adaptation, despite having to sit through quite a few ads.
Lost progress
I was playing this game for a good while then I took a break and then when I logged back into this game, it lost all my progress. And even lost my access to all the other chapters even though I purchased the entire contact two years ago.
Impossible to play kind-off
I got this game 4 years ago, back when you had cats around the game that would give you coins if you watched and helped you proceed through chapters without having to stop or daily too much, overall it was a win win. I was around the final few chapter when, due to being young I ended up getting my device stolen and lost all motivation to work through all those chapters as you can skip them. Well it had been a while but I finally returned and now I’m js devastated to see it’s kinda basically P2W?? I can’t afford a membership bc I’m still in education so I don’t work and Ik almost everything that transpires in the game excluding the end so the sudden change was so surprising to me. You need to watch around 4 ads (wait 5 minutes between each ads like a cooldown) to then experience the 7-8 minutes of the chapter. The game has a lot of dedication put into it and it’s really great overall, I understand they need to make money but the game has been there since 2018, and this change now makes it almost unplayable for a student. Anyways I’m js sad I’m genuinely never gonna know how it ended.

I love phantom of the opera (the 1910 book) and this is a pretty accurate retelling of it. I just wish it was easier to get the chapters without a paywall.
FAILED.
The game’s musical score and visual arts were indeed impressive, but this is the farthest my praise can go. I don’t even know what to say. There is so much wrong with this adaptation of the novel. They put a blotch on art by demolishing this classic work with outrageous feministic ideology. Not only did they ruin the characters by forcing them to do and say things they would never do or say, but they undermined their own efforts to make them better by taking away the already-present qualities in the book and therefore lowering them to the wallow of incompetent writing and purposeful deluding of interpretation. Aside, from obvious skewing of the plot line, there are many small details of which I would like to address: 1. Blind woman Melek? Not only did she fail to serve a purpose to the story at all, she is in fact completely fictional in the sense that she did not ever exists in the already-fictional work. In other words, not even worthy to be thought up. It is in question whether or not the name Melek ever passed the mind of Gaston Leroux, let alone the page. I hate her. 2. Christine’s lack of love Erik—lack of the ABILITY to love Erik is appalling. Her selfishness blinded her, thoroughly contradicting the true meaning of her character and the story itself. They seemed to be wanting to make her empowered, but in truth, they only stripped her of the power that had been within her in the novel. I hate her in this app. 3. Most of all, the most atrocious part of this game was its portrayal of Erik, the Phantom of the Opera, the Angel of Music. I’m not even as mad as I am confused. You must not have WANTED him to have any redeeming qualities, cuz you can’t honestly have missed all of them. The book literally spells it out at times. You’re telling me you got the fact that he had a stupid ostrich egg as decoration in his house, but you didn’t get that he was the most tender-hearted, gentle, and yes, BEAUTIFUL person? Deep down, sure, and not all the time, but it’s the whole point, and the author says it, and Christine knew it, but ohhhh nooo, we have to make sure that Christine has the girl power and can save herself, and it turns out he was just a twisted monster all along. Christine, Raoul, and Leroux call him the Angel faaar after all the atrocious things happen. It’s. The. Point. It’s part of the TRAGEDY. That’s what they did: they took out the tragedy. He’s not tragic anymore if he’s really evil. STUPID. WRETCHED. They swapped the heroes because they thought it shouldn’t be this way—WHO ARE YOU TO CHANGE A CLASSIC NOVEL TO SUIT WHAT YOU THINK IS RIGHT OR WRONG. PICK ANOTHER NOVEL TO MAKE A GAME OUT OF IF YOU THINK IT WASN’T GOOD, BUT KEEP YOUR GRUBBY LITTLE FINGERS OFF OF THE MOST UNHAPPY AND SUBLIME OF MEN. I rest my peace.
Engaging plot, beautiful art style, realistic characters, but…
When I first played Phantom of the Opera, which is based on the novel, no less, I was so excited! I was immediately drawn to the rich storyline and characters. However, there has been some noticeable changes to the game since then. For example, I need to watch 4 ads to be able to play a new part. I could play as many parts without any restrictions! Really miss those days.

A faithful adaptation, but a biased one
As a lover of both visual novels and the original work by Gaston Leroux, MazM’s Phantom of the Opera has been on my to-play list for a while now. It professes to be one of the most faithful adaptations of the novel to date… and for the most part, it succeeds. However, two chapters out of five in, it’s clear this game has an agenda that the original book does not, so it is hard for me to call this a good-faith adaptation. Let’s start with the positives, because there are a lot. The game’s presentation is excellent, with lovely and expressive character sprites, backgrounds, and classical music that helps lay the vibe of the scene/story. Much as we all hate freemium games, this one makes it easy to unlock a few chapters per day through a simple (and fairly painless) ad-watching system. Gameplay is straightforward: none of the puzzles feel convoluted, and navigating this world is intuitive and made clear through in-game dialogue. Speaking of dialogue… I reread the OG novel earlier this week, and am impressed with how this game preserves so many conversations from the original almost verbatim. There are some added ones, of course—in particular, MazM centers Christine’s perspective more by exploring her relationships with other, particularly female, characters. I really want to highlight Christine and Carlotta’s dynamic: their early interactions add a layer of heartbreak to their rivalry. These little added moments greatly flesh out the original and modernize it for a 21st century audience. However, some of MazM’s other additions are heavy-handed to the point it makes me wonder if they even actually liked Leroux’s novel. What I love so much about the OG novel is its unyielding compassion for every character. Whether dealing with Raoul’s self-centeredness, Christine’s dubious decision-making, the managers’ incompetence, or Erik’s crimes, Leroux makes a point to explore where everyone is coming from, and urges the reader to see things from each perspective… especially the ones society finds hardest to empathize with. Where MazM adds new characters and alternate angles, they’re largely there to reinforce a single point: that Erik is a monster who deserves no sympathy from Christine, Leroux, nor the audience. Yes, in the era of incels and all that, it is probably worth emphasizing that what ERIK views as romantic is pretty much abuse, control, and male entitlement. But this game hammers the point in so hard and from so early on that it ends up feeling like a borderline character assassination on two levels. Look, Erik and Christine are two of my favorite characters in all of fiction—he for his hidden humanity, and she for both her agency and her ability to recognize that. It is so rare to find a novel where what defeats literal supervillainy is a woman’s compassion. Two out of five chapters in, it’s already obvious this game won’t be going that route. And, knowing how it probably ends, I honestly doubt I’ll stick around to see it. All in all… a well-made game, but not a very nuanced one. If you share the creators’ take on Erik’s character, you’ll probably find a lot to like. But if you feel, like Leroux, “we must needs pity the opera ghost,” you are unlikely to find that here.
Best for phans of the phantom of the oprea!
So I have read the phantom of the oprea novel (translated to English ) and it’s amazing so to find this game after a gameplay of it by some regal lady which I recommend watching her channel, this game is accurate but for some episodes you have to watch adds so I had to buy the 60$ lifetime pass. Worth it though!🎭

저는 이게임을 발견하고 오페라 유령을 좋아하기에 이게임을 깔았습니다 하지만 2장부턴 광고를 보거나결제를 해야 한다길래 어이가 없었습니다.이제 까지 한시간과 배터리를 써가며 시간을 벌인게 아깝습니다.그래도 그래픽이랑 화질이 좋아서 2점 드립니다.돈을 써가며 해도 되지만 안돼는 친구한테는 광고를 봐야하는데 결론은 어이가 없었습니다.

原作小説を読みたくなりました！まだ3章に入ったばかりですがとても面白く、評価は5に決定〜！と思っていたのですが、雑学辞書で皇帝のいる国として日本が入っていました。すごく違和感があります。というか、日本に皇帝がいたことは1度もありませんよ。ということです。編集さんは大丈夫ですか？

今のところあまり面白くない
現在四章プレイ中です。 このゲームは音は綺麗だけど、物語は面白くないです。 地味に日本語のミスが多いのも気になってしまいます。 誤字を見る度に開発者の方々疲れてたのかな？とか思いながら読んでます。 別にやめてもいいんだけど、せっかく入れたんだから最後までやってみようかなとは思ってます。 個人的に面白くないなと思うポイントは、ヒロインの行動に？となることと、ヒーローに全く魅力を感じないところです。 どっちかのキャラだけでも魅力的であればもう少し評価は上がったかなと思います。 どちらも好きじゃないけど、特にエリックがダメでした。 疑り深くて幼いあんな男のどこに魅力を感じたんだろう…？と。 まぁ恋は盲目って言うもんな、と無理やり納得させています。 脇役も含め、これ！と言ったキャラがいないのが残念です。 広告の出し方は良いと思うので、音楽と広告で星2つを付けさせて頂きました。
操作性さえよくなれば…
気に入ったのでパッケージを購入し1日で集中してプレイしました。 話は面白いし、音楽や絵も雰囲気があって楽しかったです。 ただ、操作性が改善されればもっとストレスなくできたのに…という点が残念です。 今後への期待ということで、要望を書かせてください。 まず何よりマップ探索時の移動をもっと速くしてほしいです。 そこそこ広いオペラ座内をノロノロ動き回るのは辛いので…。 また、例えば「家に帰ろう」などの指示が出た時、楽屋→劇場の外へ時間をかけて歩いて移動する必要性も感じなかったので、イベントが発生しないなら楽屋から出た瞬間に家に着く仕様でもいいのではないかと思いました。 あとは細かいことなので箇条書きにします。 ・人に話しかける時の吹き出しが重なったりして押しにくいことが多々あります。 ・演出で画面の端が暗い時に、ドアのアイコンが見つけにくいです。 ・誤植や一人称のミスが度々ありました。シリアスなシーンでクリスティーヌがいきなり「僕」とか言い始めると雰囲気が台無しになってしまうので、修正してほしいです。 ・これはわざとかもしれないですが…子爵の頭が悪すぎて、子爵の言う愛に説得力もなければ、クリスティーヌが子爵を好きな理由も伝わらず、腑に落ちない感じがしました。 以上いろいろと書いてしまいましたが、全体を通して楽しかったので、次回作があればプレイさせてもらいます。

This was great!
Very nice way to go through the tale of the phantom of the opera! But I have one complaint! (If you have never read this book or played this app BE WARNED SPOILER AHEAD!!!!). I honestly think you have Erik’s age wrong. Why do I say this? Because when the daroga found him he was young boy and daroga was already a grown man. I could give his age to be in his forties but not 50s because it’s mentioned that daroga was 56 whe he had Erik again playing as a phantom on France. Even if he was 12 when daroga found him in the circus, which I don’t believe, daroga wasn’t 18 when he found him. At least that’s the way it appears, but I could be wrong. I apologize if I’m mistaken.

なのか、私は原作をしらないのでわかりませんが、無料体験で面白そうだと思い購入しました。 結論から言うと、3千円近い金額を支払う程の質でも量でもなく、、、、。音楽やスチル、ミニキャラなど素敵な要素は沢山ありましたが、それよりも無駄の多さや作りの雑さに、目が行きます。。残念です。拘っている部分は広く深く掘り下げているのでしょうが、翻訳？の不自然さも、タップの効率の悪さも、誤字脱字や扉移動のボタン消失など(その度アプリ再起動です)。基本的な部分の改善が沢山あり未完成なまま有料アプリとして売るのはどうなんでしょうか(;;;;;°∇°)そして結構なお値段(´；ꙍ；｀)期待していた分残念でした。
호불호가 많이 갈릴 게임입니다
추리,스릴러 게임 좋아하는 편이고 지킬앤하이드 편 재밌게해서 이 게임도 홀린듯이 결제 다 했는데.. bgm,일러스트,게임 분위기 다 좋은데 너무너무 루즈합니다.. 지킬앤하이드같이 속도감 있는 스토리 라인을 기대했는데 이건 하다가 잠이 오는 수준이라 곤욕이에요.. 이미 돈은 지불했기에 퀘스트 하는 느낌으로 꾸역 꾸역 하고 있어서 마음이 아프네요ㅠㅠㅠ너무 솔직한 평이지만 이런 사람도 있을거라 생각해주세요 게임하다 잠와서 잔 적은 없었거든요.. 게임이 짧은 스토리를 쫙 늘려논 느낌이에요..,
AMAZING GAME
I love this game sooooo much! It follows the book storyline so well and the art is Fantastic! I play everyday and count down the hours before I can watch more ads to play more! I definitely recommend it
게임이라는 느낌이 없음.
우선 대화하는 장면에서 하나끝날때마다 눌러야하는게 번거로움. 자동대화? 이런거면 좋을듯 생각보다 뭔가 실제로 하는건 없는데 뭔가 많은걸 한 느낌. 프리셀 10판한것보다 더 피곤하고 발열도 심함. 대사마다 눌러서 다음꺼 불러야해서 그런가. 아무튼 필요없는것에 에너지 쓰는 느낌. 개인적으로 스토리만 봐야하는 게임은 솔직히 싫어함. 그럴바에는 글로 읽고싶은 사람이라. 차라리 책이면 샀을듯. 굳이 게임으로 하는 메리트가 별로 없는게임같음. 게임이어야하는 이유가 없어보인달까. 발열이 심한다는건 다른 게임도 많이 해봤지만 이건 플레이중 대사나올때 냉동실에 잠시 넣어서 완전 식힌뒤에 했는데도 대사 두개째 넘어가면 벌써 손가락이 뜨거움. 게임으로서의 재미도 없는데 발열도 심해서 내가 지금 뭐하나싶음. 차라리 스도쿠하는게 낫겠다.
Cant view ads to purchase episode
The game is just awesome but since a week or so, I haven’t been able to view ads so that I can purchase episodes. It keeps showing failed to connect and that’s upsetting as this is the only game I want to play currently. Please fix.

Amazing story game! Maybe just do some fact checks...and please change the end...
Let me just start off by saying I love both the PotO musical and the original story. I agree that the musical takes something away from the original character of the phantom but you guys really did him justice as a character. I believe this game competes with both the book and musical as a favorite. Thanks for keeping it clean! I hate it when fan fiction stories add a bunch of sexual stuff that really doesn’t need to be added. You guys did a great job! Spoilers: Some proofreading errors... Some of the dialogue has typos which cause what a character is saying to be confusing. Also Erik’s last mentioned age in Persia is 35 so then he goes to Turkey to escape. He and Daroga say they don’t see each other for 15 years which if I am correct would make Erik 50. At that time when Erik and Daroga again meet it is 9 years before the events with Christine....so Erik would have to be almost 60 when he meets Christine. In the facts about Erik though you say he is 50. I could just be confused about that. I do think that in an effort to be mysterious with the story some parts tend to be confusing but the review and character sketches do help with that. As far as the story line...the phantom almost made me cry at the end even though at times he made me mad. I am glad Christine did not choose Raoul. I really didn’t like him at all but that’s nothing new. Melek was a cool added character. She brought a whole new dimension. She was as bitter toward Erik as he was toward the world which was almost funny because she constantly condemned him and swore she would never be like him. Daroga made me sooo mad. I wished he would have just apologized for his failure to Erik in person but his regrets at the end were very sad. It didn’t seem like Daroga and Erik had much closure to their relationship. Their relationship could have been developed a bit more in the story. You alluded to how Erik viewed his relationship to Daroga but it didn’t make a lot of sense. I must say that I wish you had kept the end more like the original book. Erik didn’t let Christine go so basically he didn’t change at all. Christine basically scolded him and found his weaknesses to use against him. It made her seem vindictive in a way and she refused to forgive both Erik and Daroga (which is uncharacteristic of Christine). I loved how you had her putting some action to the pity she had for Erik by trying to help and change him. But by the end she seemed to come to the conclusion that she needed to focus on and take care herself. She changed from easily manipulated to self-centered. Also meeting Christine didn’t help Erik at all and in fact he hated her by the end. He was simply a broken, almost crazy, and bitter man who blamed everyone else for his problems. I always at least felt sorry for the phantom from the other stories because he seemed to have seen his error and changed but then was still all alone. I did feel sorry for yours but more because he was so blind and lost to the truth that he remained in his own chains and darkness. I know you probably can’t change it but the only reason I gave four stars was because I did not like the ending. It was definitely different from other adaptations but very depressingly so. Those who changed were never truly happy or they changed too late. The past was like a bad dream to all of the characters. This PotO story was a classic tragedy. Your art work and music were top notch. Honestly it is a very cool game! Keep up the good work!

재미는 있는데 하다가 자꾸 게임이 갑자기 종료 되네요.. 이것 때문에 짜증나서 게임을 못 하겠어요

気になる音や細かい部分
スワイプやタップをして動作を表したり、アーカイブを集めて物語の舞台になった時代の背景や雑学を読めたりするのが楽しいです！「人物の情報」として登場人物の関係図・情報を整理してみられるのもありがたい。 個人的に手紙や記事を読む時に空白をタップするのも、「読んでいるキャラクターが文章を目で追ってキーワードに注目している」感があって好きなポイントでした。 また登場人物達の絵柄(フィールド移動中や会話パート時)もクラシックな雰囲気が出ていて好きです。クリスティーヌ可愛い。過去の回想として、会話パートに出てくる小さいイベントスチル(?)があるのも手が込んでるなと思いました。 開発者様の「素晴らしい物語を再解釈してゲームにする」という発想も個人的にはとても好きなので応援したいです！ ただ会話中、登場人物が同じ内容を繰り返し話したり、話の途中で謎の雑談が挟まったりするため、話のテンポが悪く感じてしまうのが難点です。 そこにSEの不自然さも重なるのでなお惜しいというか……「唾を飲みこむのを表現したいんだろうな」という事をSEじゃなく前後の文章やシーンで察する感じ。深刻なシーンで使えば映える太鼓の音も、楽屋での雑談のシーンなど普段遣いに使うとちょっとしつこい印象でした。引っかかる人はトコトン気になる残念さです。 フィールドでも、モブのセリフが重なって読めなくなってしまったり、アーカイブや人間関係などの新規情報を獲得した際キーワードに「！」ポイントを付けたりと細部を直すとめちゃくちゃ快適に遊べるのでは……？そんな印象です。
