Great App and uses WHS system
Does everything you want from an app. Highly recommend. One gripe is sometimes the hcp about applied to a course is not the same as the final hcp applied to course - not sure why that changes. Pls look into this.
Courses not updated.
I am in KZN, ZA, at the moment. Two local courses, Royal Durban & Mount Edgecombe, The Woods are not correct. I sent e mail weeks ago about Royal, nothing. What is the point of a golf app that doesn’t have the correct course information & doesn’t update it when it is pointed out??
Useful app
Use the app for retaining your scorecards digitally and working out your handicap you can even post a photo or two of your round but recently I’ve found the photos are not always retained and if you wish to delete one I’ve found there is no simple way to do this
Doesn’t update slope index correctly and poor customer response
My group that use this app has a recurring fault re a couple of courses we play. The handicap conversion based on the slope jndex doesn’t work correctly AND the Stroke Indices are different on the course card from what it says on the app. Both these faults cause an issue in scoring Stableford. I have emailed MOGC but had no reply
It’s good (ish)
I have used it to track my game for many years. The biggest floor is that it chooses when it will use cards for handicap tracking. It always skips a few rounds every so often, no reply from email - from when they were on annual golf holiday
Top app
Wonderful app and easy to use
No account
Used this app to record my first ever round till now. It logged me out because I hadn’t used it for a while as I hadn’t been playing then couldn’t log back in. Contacted them and they said they hadn’t got an account relating to my email or username. Which can’t be possible. Lost all that info now. Really disappointed. Wouldn’t recommend as it’s not reliable.
Mr
When you gonna update
Can’t get answers to queries
This approximation to UK whs is reasonable but doesnt have a clear replication if PCC, & appears to therefore be c 10% different to the WHS index. That’s fair enough for a free service but the frustrating part is the inability to get answers to how they use the weather indicator to adjust SDs, despite asking via the help section….
Excellent but needs Apple Watch support
Excellent app, however it now could do with Apple Watch support to show distances, enter scores, move hole and club suggestions. Only thing that’s letting it down, hopefully this is coming soon
Great app
This apps is excellent for a free app. Scorecard is easy to use - a good way to track your score and build up to a handicap. The GPS feature lacks the bells and whistles of expensive apps or watches, but as an intermediate golfer I just need a fairly accurate distance to the pin or a hazard, and this gives that. It was easy to configure the GPS for a course that in was not set up already in the app.
Poor support
Unable to scroll through previous friends and my own scores, no reply from several emails to support.
New Courses
Index, rating, hole distances, hole handicap Can you automatically include these when you select a new course?
Worked for a while now just a bit of a let down.
So for a while this worked great. But for the last 3-4months it won’t remember scores even though I’m saving every hole. Last week playing a round it decided to blank out all the scores submitted. Luckily I was taking screenshots of every hole completed. Took me a while to renter them but that meant my two buddies lost their stats like how many putts and bunkers and so on. Back to cards I think. Shame as it was decent like I say.
Use to be simple, now doesn’t work!
They have just done an update and now the app doesn’t work properly. What was a simple means to keep score and track your handicap has been over complicated by adding extra features that now makes it fiddly to use, but worse still the app now won’t let me save any scores, popping up an error message saying that the course needs to be validated!! Also, To be clear, this app isn’t free. Once you have submitted a certain number of cards you are asked to pay a fee - 0.99p a year or £4.99 for life. I don’t have an issue paying this, but I do have an issue with the way the developer has hidden this feature (see the description saying that all the features on the app “will always be free”).
Stableford points
This app is very good for keeping golf scores but recently it has altered my stableford points by increasing my handicap by two strokes when I save the score card. I always uncheck the adjust handicap feature but it still adds the two points to my handicap. Can you look into this problem.
Waste of money
Whilst this keeps log of your scores the ‘handicap’ you pay for means zero in relation to World golf handicap. They’ve taken a money from me when I’ve repeatedly told them I wasn’t renewing my membership. I’ve contacted them numerous times via email to recover my money but they deflect away from issue. TOTAL WASTE !
Try another
I broke down and purchased the upgrade and have been waiting two weeks for my card and number. Their instructions to print your card doesn’t apply to the app. I have attempted to contact them every possible way but have gotten no response. I’m tempted to contact PayPal and dispute the transaction for services not being rendered.
Heworth golf club Gateshead NE10 8XY.
I’ve just started playing golf at Heworth golf club after a couple of rounds I’ve noticed that the two courses called Heworth have been mixed up with the scorecards.
MOGC
Very good
Confusing app
Very inconsistent app. Tried to play a round using this to score with my husband. It won’t share the score card and it gave us very different handicaps. Each time we log in to play it gives us a different handicap and whoever records the round has the course handicap rather than their own. There is no clear explanation or way of changing this.
Great App
My group uses this app all the time for our Saturday 4 ball good way of keeping track of where we are handicap wise I e also bought the card and certificate to get me on some very exclusive courses and use it in comps One small issue when entering scores the options for weather are either sun or rain could do with an overcast option it’s the UK after all
Good for handicap but needs to link to watch
Great app for handicap and swing your pals scores etc. Really needs to be updated so it is Apple Watch compatible with distances etc.
Handicap Tracker
You put your scores in and it tracks stats and stuff. It’s a useful tool if you play golf.
9 hole
No nine hole option for handicap calculation
Really good + small issue with photos
I love this app for many reasons - ease of input, backdating option, detail allowed, built in handicap calculator.. The only issue I have is sometimes on the ‘info’ section of a round, where there’s a possibility to upload a photo for the round to make it more memorable when looking back through scorecards, I’ll upload one but it doesn’t seem to come up properly on people’s feeds when I share it, or even when I go back in and view it for myself. Would appreciate this being looked into, but apart from that I’d definitely recommend this app.
Awkward to save scorecard on iPhone
Great App but when you are adding scores the save scorecard is covered by the keyboard screen
Handicap
MOGC is a great way for those golfers unattached to a traditional golf club to gain a sensible/true handicap to be used for golf tours, society days and other like events. 👍
No 9 hole option?
The new world Handicap system accepts 9 holes rounds but for some reason MOGC is not letting them count? Can you fix this ASAP?
Best app but not Apple Watch compatible
Best score card app I have used and most friendly from a UI prospective but unable to use via apple watch around the course, which for me is an annoyance and since moved apps. If the app starts to work on Apple Watch I’ll most defiantly move back!
Great App
First App I’ve found that actually has my course listed. So easy to use too. 👍
GPS
The gps side of this app is terrible. When you use the app to score it stops working.
Issue with login via Facebook
App is good, however recently I have been unable to log into the app through the Facebook login. An error message opens saying: App not set up: This app is still in development mode, and you don't have access to it. Switch to a registered test user or ask an app admin for permissions. This is upsetting due to now not having access to all of my saved rounds. Hopefully this can be fixed soon so that I do not lose all of my data.
Great app
Love the app, works brilliantly and I use it on multiple courses, however I play with my dad regularly and isn’t very technology friendly. So I’ve added him to mine, but what is frustrating is I cannot adjust his handicap without creating a new player. With this comes another problem you can’t delete the players, unless I’m missing something please help?
Don’t waste your time with this app
When I downloaded this app in 2018 or 2019 it was said to be free forever. Now they are insisting a small ££ amount from me. No response from the developer as to my enquiry why it is not free as promised. Better to enjoy a game of golf than deal with a broken promise. Rate them no stars.
Jake Shaw
Good app but needs some courses updated
Fantastic app
Recently got back into golf and needed a handicap or just to see what I’m roughly at. This app has all the courses and distances of each hole. Highly recommend
Revue
Fantastic app can’t play without it really really good app highly recommended
