I’m really thankful for this app because it allows the church to maintains a connection even from home and it has functioned for me really good!
Calendar View
Why isn’t the calendar viewable from the app in a traditional month format? I can appreciate having the ability to view as a list or gallery, but it’s unhelpful when planning out ministry or season long recurring events. Prime example, we have small groups that run fall and spring. We adjourn for Winter break and also for Summer. When planning, we try to plan around other events on the church calendar for the fall and spring. Needlessly difficult to have to navigate away from the app or to a web browser just to view the church calendar. It’s the lack of thought on the small UI/UX that made me boycott/advocate against this platform for my church.
Please add a “search” function
This app would be fantastic if it had a search function.
Code faulty
Makes me have to resend code multiple times and code comes an hour later so that it is now expired. I can’t sign in..
Chat
This was my go to app for communication with my team, now we don’t get a notification when someone replies or responds… occasionally we will receive one but 98 percent of the time we do not.
Amazing tool for managing church
Planning Center is such a great company, and I love how responsive their support team is, and how often developers actually listen to user feedback and incorporate in changes, sometimes within weeks or months via YEARS for other types of applications.
No live sermons
Tapping live sermons does not allow you to watch the sermons. You can only watch archived ones. The older app was way more user friendly….. and worked. So I just left on the computer and go directly to the church’s web page and bypass the app.
Needs search feature
Our church has used this app for several years and there are great chat and message board features for posting. PLEASE add the ability to search messages so that ppl don’t have to keep posting the same questions months later due to not being able to search for prior posts/messages with their comments based on keywords. July 2026, that functionality should be standard by now yet we’re still waiting. 🙏🙏 Please add to DEV list. 🙏

App forces me to re download the app way too often

So I downloaded this app for my church on my iPhone no big deal right but I need to sign up for a fall retreat on October so I asked my mom but she said yes so flash forward to a week later I was about to sign up and it would not let me in I updated it and it still wouldn’t let me in I emailed them and they said nothing so I think this app should be 9+
App unresponsive
When viewing group members, and ordering members by last name, all links on page are unresponsive, on iPad Air 5th gen, iPadOS 26.5

Looks sophisticated, demands too much private info
App looks sophisticated, too many data fields are required and cannot be deleted or must contact someone at the church office (gender, marital status, birthdate). Signed up as an adult, recent app update requires actual birthdate. No church-specific privacy policy accessible from the app. App collects private information of adults (birthdate) alleging it is to protect children who use the app. I don’t see the value of collecting adult private information, need a different option.
iOS 16
I enjoyed your app until two weeks ago when an update now requires iOS 16. My iPhone only goes to 15.8. Is their a way I can continue to use your app?

Not working
For some inexplicably reason the app will not respond. I tried reentering my number and no code is sent.
Messages Don’t Get Marked As Read
This could be a great app, but honestly it has some really frustrating quirks. The main frustration is that when I read chats for groups that I am in, the chats still show that the messages are unread. In order to clear them I have clicked the messages icon at the top and then click “mark all as read”. That feels really clunky and inefficient because then I’m not sure if I have actually caught up on chat messages.
Broken UX Flow
Please please PLEASE get a serious UX designer to actually do user testing with this app. I’ve found myself avoiding using it since the large update approximately 1.5 years ago. The flow of menus etc break by brain and are not best practice. Don Norman would not be happy.
Badges
The badges never disappear even after you read messages. I never know when I have new messages because the badges are always there from older messages that I have already read. They’re definitely needs to be an update to the app to fix this issue.
Great developer response
I am on staff at a large church in Arizona. We use this app to communicate with all of our volunteers (we call them different makers) - and for so many other things. Recently, I found a small bug in the app. I contacted support and got a reply in just a few hours. They reproduced the problem, and fixed it in their next update. I love this app for all the features. I love it even more for the great support from the development team behind it.
Recent update introduced bugs
It was working just fine and now it won’t load and messages won’t load either. If I try to close the messages it freezes, but if I go to close the app repeatedly, the third time I go through the sequence it usually works. Please fix
bug for church center app
the app is great, but i have a problem. whenever i open the app it will not load and just says ‘no internet found’ even though i am connected both to wifi and have good signal
Needs folder hierarchy for documents
I have been using this app for over a year. Biggest frustration…no organization for documents that are uploaded. Only able to sort by name or upload date. With many documents, the scrolling to find a document seems endless. Please add the ability to create folders for better organization. My team has been asking for this for at least a year and our patience in running thin.
not intuitive
The app gets the job done, but its lack of intuitive use makes for an unnecessarily difficult learning curve.
I love this app
I love this app a lot it works with my church and it is perfectly smooth not laggy at all. I do wish you could send private messages to leaders but other than that it’s great!
Payment Failed
Luckily it was only $10, and not $300. But I tried paying with Pay, it loaded for almost a minute, I used my Apple Cash card, I get a notification of ten dollars made to my Church, yet Church Center and the Apple Pay UI said Payment Failed. But I look at my card balance and it took $10. Yet Church Center app still believes it to be unpaid. Also, side note, the UI could use a refresh, maybe with Liquid Glass in SwiftUI, consider a tool like Claude Code to try and help supercharge development.
RSVP was visible
At the beginning of this month (May 2026) All RSVP’s was visible for the first time for non group leaders up until today. It’s no longer visible. Looks like the latest update removed that option? Please bring that back! It’s a very helpful feature for meal planning instead of having to ask the group lead how many people have RSVP’d
The app is buggy
The app has been poorly tested. There are pages you can’t get out of without closing it. You can’t add your own church if it isn’t listed in their selection. I don’t much see the point of this app. Sorry
Wants attendance too early!
Please stop asking me to take attendance for our small group meeting 15 minutes early, when our attendees usually arrive 20 minutes late!
Great App - Suggested Improvement
Church Center is a great app, everything it offers is well designed. I’d like to see a polling option added with a choice for how the results are viewed. Either viewed by all or just leaders, with the option for the leader later sharing the results. Also, it would be nice if texting or direct messages could be sent in the app instead of how it currently works. There's probably a reason it is designed like that.m
No app should work this way
This app woks better when you don't log in. As a guest you are able to skip the broken log in which doesn't work randomly. One church I was able to log in and see, the other I couldn't Iwas sent back to log in over and over. This app works as if it was someone's first class project. It doesn't work and it has little functionality.

This is a great app but is there any safety or protection measures one can take while using? Can you block people in the app? Thank you.

Love CC but WHY do I have so many notifications 😭
I love Church Center, we use it for so much at our church. Great from both the participant and the leader sides of things! But the app icon on my phones home screen says I have 8 notifications, and I cannot for the LIFE of me figure out what they are 😭 I scrolled all the way down to my earliest chats, I’ve RSVPed to upcoming events, I’ve clicked pretty much every button on the app, and the number has not gone down from 8. It’s such a non-issue in the grand scheme of things, but as someone who likes clearing out and dealing with notifications instead of letting them sit, I really wish it was more obvious within the app what the notifications are and what I need to do to address them, because nothing within the app is badged or highlighted or anything. Thanks for making a great app that enables our church to do so much!!
Lagging
Please fix after whatever update it had. Will not allow to use Face ID to log in and always wants my phone number to log in. Then it never logs in. Just tries to log in for a long time. Then never does. I delete fixed. Then days later back to not working. Can’t log in Please please fix it. Need it for Bible study and to keep up to date with all church activities. Before that it was great. Would like to bump up my rating when fixed.
Works well for me
The red notification dot that appears on the app icon - it won’t go away unless I view the message/event twice. I have restarted my phone. I have uninstalled and reinstalled the app. It’s irritating! I see the dot, I open the app and open whatever message/calendar reminder. I close the app. I wait. Red dot is still there. Then I open the app again. I open whatever message/reminder again. I close the app again. Zip- the red dot is gone. Yes, I have clicked the “mark all messages as read” button. Still happens.
Convoluted Mess
This app fails because it tries to be everything but ends up doing nothing well. When using its group messaging, event calendars, and all the other things it attempts to offer, you quickly realize you should stick group texts and email. And no one likes group texts so that tells you everything you need to know.
Canceled Event
Canceled Event does not update in subscribed calendar or delete right away. It eventually caught up later. There’s just some delay between event change in the app vs the subscribed calendar.
Rating
I have been using this app for quite a while now, and I love it! However, with the new update, the eating has been changed to 13+. This is a problem for me, as the restrictions on my iPhone is set to 4+. Because of this, I can no longer use this app. Why would church app need to be 13+?

Barely works
It used to be a good app. But now, anytime I try to play the previous weeks lesson and “watch” it, it just spins forever. It will play other weeks but never the previous week that is available. Super frustrating bc now I can’t keep up on my lessons

Wouldn’t load. Just spun as though it wanted to load. So I deleted app and reinstalled. Then it started working for me. Try it again
