Great app to study on the fly
Just downloaded it went through it once. Good app to help you finesse your knowledge on wine. Surprised there is no Germany or Alsace modules. But great app. I use it to quiz myself on the fly.
Waste of £20
Spent £20 on the subscription and the answer options don’t show. Get a 404 error on app support link. Email address doesn’t work. Uninstalled and reinstalled. Worked for two rounds of questions. Same issue again. Don’t buy until it’s updated…

Good way to learn, probably in conjunction with reading and tasting. Really appreciate that it’s available! My only complaint is the addition of AI generated photos. I get that it’s cost efficient but it’s a real eye sore.
Subscriptions not working
Paid for subscription did not unlock content. Emailed support twice. Emailed apple support. No response from either. Good content but needs update and support
Could do better
An interesting App for 10 minute “tune ups”. Some of the questions are subjective and repeat consistently even after many correct answers. Annoying it seems impossible to mute the alerts when in quick quiz mode. I have tried without success on 2 different iPads.

Don’t Buy This App
You owe me £20. I purchased this app and it doesn’t work at all. I have emailed your support team twice now asking for a solution and I’ve had zero response. This is effectively robbery and simply isn’t good enough. Sort it out.
Cool app, could improve.
I like the app. It's definitely challenging for a wine neophyte like myself. Recommend adopting a flashcard system based on neuroscience like the Forever Fluent language learning app (Too many nuances to go over here, but it's about a lot more than using flashcards). Other two improvements I'd recommend are the inclusion of maps and pronunciation (sound files) for those of us without the requisite language background. Bottom line is I do recommend the app and enjoy using it on a daily basis.
Worked well - now broken
All progress is lost since update 02/2023. Keeps circling in first two modules, but without progressing. Liked it before, but won’t use it now.
Love the app but...
I love this app, but hate the ridiculous time restrictions. You can answer 10 questions and then need to wait for up to an hour to continue. I would love to be able to put in half an hour to the study and review of the questions, but the app locks you out after a very brief time. Impractical if you have limited time to dedicate to your studies.
Great app
Great learning tool
Worst app I’ve ever encountered
It claims to NOT be a quiz app but it starts off that way as soon as you install and run it. It overrides the iOS sound volume settings and plays loud sounds even though I’ve turned down the volume to zero. It has one sound setting that it doesn’t allow me to turn off(the option is disabled). Pure piece of crap. Stay away.
Excellent Wine App
Know Your Wine is an excellent tool to extend your knowledge of wine no matter what your current level experience. As an educator, I am impressed with how effective the algorithm is. You will be amazed at how much you will learn.
Out of Order Questions Lead to Frustration
The concepts presented by the app have good intensions and seem to structure a natural learning of wine while avoiding short term memory learning faults. Unfortunately the early questions being wildly out of order lead to consistent frustration on aspects way too difficult for the section. During the first few modules, why are questions on specific vineyards or labels included? Material on wine label basics or what specific label information means has not even been introduced yet. Asking about individual champagne label details that early on provides no opportunity for learning and incentivizes one time memorization in order to progress only to be forgotten soon afterwards. While the majority of questions are appropriate, encountering unrelated random facts adds artificial difficulty and confusion.
Enjoy the format, not the waiting
I am paying for two modules and am still waiting for these questions. It’s a strong learning platform, but the mandatory waiting to access questions is a deterrent.
Great learning tool
Awesome sauce. Has got me curious when I go out to drink wine. As a beginner, it’s really nice to see bottles of wines with certain things on them that you learnt by using the app
Great App but...
Have really enjoyed this app, I paid the extra $ for all the modules but upon last update, I lost all the paid modules I didn’t think there was a time limit on them because there are so many and it’s such an in depth app Again, this is a great app and enjoy and would be 5 stars But if I got pump $10 in all the time to only get so far on these modules, then not worth it If this is an error then I’ll adjust rating.... That was my review over a month ago Since, I reached out to tell them about the issue Was told they’ll look into it I’ve sent emails stating I don’t care that they restore my status to just allow me to continue to use the app with modules I PAID for. I sent multiple emails to no avail, even stating just open up the modules for me to start over... nothing I guess this company feels they think they can just take peoples $ and not provide what was sold It WAS a great app and for those with no issues, congrats... just sad they messed up and don’t want to confront the issue
Great
It was fun for a while, but it’s just sad that it gets ridiculously expensive after you complete about 1/4th of the questions. Edit: I would like to apologise, I didn’t know about the subscribe option, I figured all the modules had to be individually bought for 1,99. Thanks for the reply!
Great to so so
This was a great app until the last update. Originally subscribed modules could be locked or unlocked. Only questions for the unlocked module(s) would then appear. With the upgrade the lock/unlock was removed. Now all pervious modules in the list will need to be muted to get the module for which question are really wanted. That is if you want module 30 then modules 1-29 will need to be muted . You can not choose to have multiple modules at one time as was possible prior to the update. If only one module at a time is OK then it’s still a good app.
Time between questions
Great app and helpful with WSET study but it’s annoying that you have to wait, sometimes one hour, for the next question despite having paid for the full app, very annoying!
Fun and educational
If you want to know more about wine and winemaking, this is the app for you!
Terrible navigation

Love It!
This is a great quizzing app to pass the time in a productive way. Only reason it’s not a 5 Star is that the sentence structure of some questions is odd and possibly incorrect. I always use the in app report tool so that’s already great there. Also there’s no quiz section on Germany which I know has many great wine regions and to be absent from this app surprised me a little, and I live in Germany as well so I wish I could learn more about their wine from here.
Great content but terrible user experience
Just when you get going it kicks you out and asks you to come back in, the navigation is really convoluted. I’d rather pay more for it upfront then became a fight into losing money because the content is excellent.
$6.99 - seriously?
You’re not trying to educate wine enthusiasts to help increase wine sales, you’re just trying to make a buck; or 99-cents in this case. I’m in the wine industry, I’d love to recommend this app to retail customers, but not when most of the modules cost 99-cents.
Excellent wine source...
Great little app that complements my wine studies. Lots of info and the way you use the spacing learning is very useful. I just wish there was a way to open a module that has been completed to a 100% to review questions without waiting for them to show up (maybe) once in a while.... please! :-) Thanks so much for this little gem!
Poor design and Support
I am extremely disappointed in the support provided for this app. I purchased the subscription using my iPhone and was shocked to find it does not support cross device usage with my iPad. I have reached out four times for help transferring the purchase from my iPhone to my iPad with zero response. While I enjoy the app, use caution when considering purchasing a subscription due to design and support issues.
New Release April 2020
Related to question depth, are the “easy” questions included in the “hard” or is it two different sets of questions? I want my depth set to hard, but I don’t want to miss out on “easy” questions that I might not actually know the answers to. It looks like the total number of questions went from 1479 to 1477 despite modules being added for Austria. Why is the number of questions going down? Also, what is the “accelerated end phase”? I hoped this would mean I’d get more/different questions but that doesn’t seem to be the case?
Acts strangely
Fun little app, but it poses the same questions over and over and the updating is odd. It will download for two minutes, then ask me one or two questions it has asked already and then go back to downloading. Ultimately gets annoying and you give up. I’d pay a reasonable price (not 0.99 per module) for something that works properly.
The spacing is annoying
The information is good, but limiting the number of questions per unit of time is very annoying. Please provide the option to shut that off. I subscribed but won’t renew if you don’t. Otherwise its a very good app.

I have paid the subscription and it continues to ask for money to use modules. There is also no contact us feature. DO NOT PAY TO USE THIS APP.

Love how it forces you to stop studying for a while so your not just memorizing but truly learning and remembering. Depth of questions is pretty good so far. Nice app!
Restoring glitch - what to do?
The App Support link doesn’t work so: I get a message going on this morning saying it has found data ‘from a previous installation’ do I want to restore this, yes or no? Can’t answer any more qs until this done. I am well over halfway through the levels and want to know that I won’t need to waste time redoing regions I’ve chosen & finished - assume this is as a result of an auto- upgrade as I see you’ve added California, but still unsure whether to say yes or no - assuming yes but pls make all of this clear! PS - when is Spain coming on?! Edit: after no response above, I chose yes. Now been reduced to starting novice with modules previously done & locked now needing done again! Delete!

Best app I’ve found for wine questions
Decanter App
In regards to incorrect answers, unless I’m missing something Champagne is not the only region where it is legal to blend red and white wines to make a rose’. It may be frowned upon, but it is not illegal.
Great app
I enjoyed using this while studying for the CMS Certified exam. I hope they will add Spain, Germany, Portugal, and New Zealand in the future. My only quibble is that once you’ve answered ~75% of the questions the quiz takes a long time to queue up 5 questions since there aren’t as many left. (Also: Made it to the end, and when only one question is left, it won't let you say "correct" - it marks it wrong so you can't finish and get to 100% - not cool!)
Don’t waste your time or $$$
I thought this would be a fun app, but after I noticed that the same 15-20 questions were asked repeatedly about 50 times (not kidding) over a few days and 1 new question was released each day, I realized it would be years to get through the questions in the app. Really a worthless app.
