What people like
- Tracks income better than other apps
- Easy to link external bank accounts
- Simple interface for daily use
What they complain about
- Login bugs keep you locked out
- Touch ID often just stops working
- Stock prices update way too late
- Hard to find basic account details
Solid app
I really like being able to consolidate ALL of my other investment accounts on this app!
Poor management of app
They continue to do a poor job with this app. They don’t test and are unconcerned with any complaints or any issues. They need better management and coders
Generally solid, but needs a few tweaks
This is a good app for amateur investors, but it needs to take a couple of hints from the truly consumer-oriented apps like Schwab and Fidelity. There should be a simple, obvious way to look at historical results at least for 1d, 1wk, mtd, 1 mo, ytd & life of acct. They should be available for the account as a whole and each individual sub-account within the main account.
Not real time stock prices
In this day and age of information tech, why does this app report stock prices up to 15 minutes late? I’m supposed to make decisions on buying and selling based on delayed information? Takes up to 20 minutes after the market opens to update my net worth. Two thumbs down
Ehhh
I’ve seen better apps but I’ve also seen worse. They really over complicate the information and don’t make it easy to find the information you’re looking for.
RBC Mobile App
The RBC Mobile app makes it very easy to link external bank accounts and transfer money. The setup process is straightforward, accounts can typically be linked in just a few minutes, and once connected, moving funds between institutions is simple and secure. The app is intuitive, reliable, and one of the better digital banking experiences available for clients who regularly transfer money.
Terrible app
For such a large financial services company, I’ve never had so many issues with a mobile app. I’ve had this app for years and it constantly has bugs that prevents using the app at all. Funny thing is I’ve talked to their QA team through work and they say they haven’t had a bug in years…
Pretty solid app
The app works as expected and rarely glitches. It would improve the app to: 1) Allow logout by clicking the human head icon at the top right corner of the app. It’s currently at the very bottom of the “More” tab, which requires users on smartphones to scroll down to access it. Most apps use the top right or left corner for placement of the “Logout” button; 2) Please add the ability to access statements and tax docs from the app. As people - especially senior citizens - move away from owning laptops, this is important.
Check deposit does not work
Mobile check deposit does not work gives error. Tried uninstalling to see if would fix but did not. Called help desk they could not offer a fix just recommended uninstalling which I already did.
A good, basic online wealth management app, but RBCWM is behind the big brokerage firms.
I got used to a consolidated holdings view of a group of accounts at my previous brokerage. I have an IRA and Roth and want a consolidated holdings view. ZI now have to do it manually. There is no reason this should not be an option.
Solid app.
This is a very useful app. with plenty of details allowing good financial decision making. The secure login gives me confidence that my info and finance info are protected. This app. is well designed and easy to navigate through multiple accounts and in my opinion better than Charles Schwab app.
Unstable and doesn’t work
No matter how I try: android s22 fingerprint, iPad using login credentials - including renewal of credentials I arrive at the same error message “Something Went Wrong. We have encountered a technical problem with your request. Please try again later.” This is not the first time this has happened. In fact it is the rule rather than the exception. BTW I did update the app as instructed.
My bad - Touch ID is now available
Upgrading rating from 3 to 4 - Touch ID is now there, but the FAQ on it is not clear. Found it under Security in Settings, which makes sense. My bad for not looking there and trusting a programmer’s documentation!
Not secure enough
Needs to move to an app/token based 2FA. Also, more charts for tracking holdings and earnings would be great.
Buggy log in
Overall I’ve been happy with the app. But over time the login process has gotten more buggy. It’s gotten to the point where neither Face ID nor manual login work for over a day at a time. Restarting the phone has no affect.
Face ID Fixed
Good job people!
Worst app I ever used
This is the worst app I have ever used in my life. Slow doesn’t load. Disconnected my data from other accounts. Took away ability to view specific trades. Nightmare of an app.
Huge Glitch and Clunky Budgeting
I am fairly new to this app. I logged in today to enter transactions into the budget and found that the app is adding gains with the decimal point in the wrong place, making it appear that there were HUGE gains overnight. Budget tracking is very clunky compared to what I usually use (YNAB), but my advisor wants me to give this a try. As far as tracking investments, I haven’t found a way to see weekly/monthly/ytd, etc like other investment apps or apps like Daily TSP.
Can’t easily connect to CNB
RBC owns City National Bank yet I can’t easily connect these external accounts via the app because the institution is not supported? Lame. Lacks the ability to easily see performance net of advisor fees. Learning about securities is extremely cumbersome. Clicking on the security in your portfolio should give you a host of information about it, not just like it’s name and todays change. Lightweight on information generally.
Best web site for tracking monthly cash flows
I have compared to Merrill, Fidelity,Schwab and none come close to the simplicity and detail of tracking current and projected income on monthly and annual income.
Miserable
Older app crippled by pop up offering newer app not compatible with my Apple phone. Cannot get rid of pop up. Backwards to the future.
2 factor authentication is broken
Since the last update, every login requires 2 factor, the ‘remember this device’ function no longer works.
Convenient but would like more details
This shows you most of what you need fairly easily. I wish, however, there were to show changes over time on a more granular level like a plot by day or week. With this app you appear to be restricted to specified time periods (day, quarter, etc.)
Easy to use
Great app. Easy to use!
Log in issue ongoing
Each log message is technical issue. Can’t log in. Tried deleting and downloading etc. junk. RBC apps in general are inferior to fidelity.
Mixed results
I had hoped this most recent revision would fix my inability to use fingerprint access. Unfortunately, it did not. No idea why it stopped working after 2 years. The bill pay functionality is really disappointing when compared to other bank apps. It actually feels like the rework done earlier this year took several steps backwards. Cumbersome, time consuming and not intuitive. The investment components are more user friendly. Several months later I received a message from the app developer asking me to try their latest version. So, I have updated my software each and every time it has been revised. I have yet to see any improvements, at all. It remains cumbersome, lacking in features that are available from other providers and still not accessible with fingerprint. I have discussed with my financial advisor that I will likely be moving my checking and bill pay to another bank.
Two step
Always asking for two step authentication every time i log in. It’s the only banking app of many banking apps i use that does this. Old technology or poorly designed
Lags behind its competitors
A disappointing app that omits much of the details that should be available, such as maturity dates of bonds and CDs, interest rates on holdings. Can not print statements. Really falls short of my other investment houses
Terrible App
This app is complete garbage.
For my security?
Touch/Face ID is often disabled for my security? That’s ridiculous, this security is why I use an iPhone/iPad.
Problem
It doesn’t work on my iPhone 6. Every time I try to log in, it says can’t as technical error. I would love it to work on my phone. All my iOS updates are current.
Does not log in
Every time I try to log in says there is a technical error. It’s been months since I was able to log in.
