The app is exactly what it presents itself to be, a companion! It delivers just what an adventurer would need from marketing items to chatting with fellow players/free company mates. Thank you Square Enix <3
Paid version not a sufficient product.
I pay for this app, yet cannot see items retainers bring back from ventures. Using retainers to sell items requires additional $ for Mog coins, unless you only list 2 items a day.
Update?
I don’t know if it’s just me but when I open the app it tells me I have to go to the app store to update the app to continue, but when I go to the app store there is no update, so I can’t use the app
$20-30 a day to use this app
This app costs about $20-30 a day to have enough coins to actually manage one ffxiv account. Its an additional $20-30 a day per character. If you dont spend money you can interact with 1 character once per day when in reality you need to be able to do it 100-200 interactions per day
Decent Interactions
I like the ability to freely move items between inventory, saddlebags, and retainers! Very OP after a long sesh once you log off. However, it’s too expensive to manage retainers with mogcoins / the rate of kupo nuts should be increased if you have more retainers. Also big feature request : Please add integration with duty finder. A new menu/ widget that gives push notifications to the phone when party finder is full/ duty finder needs action from the user (commence, withdraw, etc) or allow the user to queue for instances directly from the app for a kupo nut or something.

Does not work
The app keeps telling me to update the app because there’s a new version I go to the App Store and it says I’m up-to-date and it won’t let me go into the app
Cosmic Exploration Updates
It’s starting to feel more like a companion app all the time and the new additions to include Cosmic Exploration are very welcome. I’d like to see similar features extended to battle related activities such as Occult Crescent where appropriate. Something to the tune of tracking challenges in instanced areas or something like that.

Not very useful at all
Fine, when it works.
I like the convenience of the app and being able to manage my retainers and inventory, but more often than not there is an error when trying to transfer items to my retainers. Would be a great app if it was reliable, but at least half the time I can’t perform the basic task I downloaded it for.
Renew subscription mogstation
Would be nice if we could pay our subscription fee with ffxiv companion apps. Instead of going into websites! Where many people got phished while using the website. Ffxiv could implement vpn and anti-virus. Not only a subscription purchases for FFXIV instead of going to website that is less security than the ffxiv companion apps!
Scam app
If you think about it this app is 17.99 subscription($5 for app and $12.99 for the game which you obviously also need) just to be extremely limited on what you can even do. You only get 2 uses a day if premium, or 1 if you don’t pay extra on top of you game sub. The black desert+ app is basically the same feature list aside from retainers, the chat system is linked directly with the actual game chat and all of which functions as a fully unrestricted app for free for a game you are not already paying monthly for, and no artificial limitations.
Useful once you have retainers
This app becomes more helpful once you have retainers as it gives you a fairly nice frontend outside of the game to manage your market sales and retainer jobs. However, it is unfortunate that SQEX is making people buy coins to perform these actions from the app. A paid subscription to the game should be enough!

Kupo Nuts
This app has it’s uses. But could be a lot better. It would be great to be able to do everything it can with unlimited number of times. With the ffxiv subscriptions and in game items purchased with real money…I don’t think it’s necessary to have a paid version of this app. How many people even have the paid version? Probably not much, if there is anyone.
They have turned this app into something quite wonderful!
This app went from being hardly worth the download, to something super functional and beneficial. I love the ability to organize storage and move inventory items from me to my retainers or my chocobo saddlebags. Buying and selling from the marketplace is easy and convenient. And initiating retainer hunting ventures on the go is awesome! (Hoping they implement something similar for Grand Company squadron missions soon too) The premium version is totally worth the money for the additional retainer alone, plus an additional saddlebag sealed the deal for me.
Meh
When I downloaded it I thought I was getting an app that would help me find mobs, has guides, and tips. It’s not that. It’s a discord for people without discord I guess. I can barely operate the app. I keep accidentally editing the homepage. I have no idea what use this could be for. The market thing isn’t helpful, and the ventures you can’t even choose the one you want. You have to go in game to do the longer ones. I’d like the job guides, events, updates, world boss timers, pot timers, server info’s. Maybe even a mini version of my house on the app. That way I could log into the app and handle stuff from inside my house. That would be difficult but just an idea of something better than what the app currently is…. Something that I would actually find useful. Take a look at the Dodo companion app for ark. That thing used to slap back in the day. Wouldn’t need to go to anyone else’s website, just toss up the app and I can find any info I needed. Like a mini encyclopedia of the game. AN ACTUAL USEFUL APP. Here is another idea for you, Global market access, global party finder’s. These are things third party websites give you for free. Cmon you can’t tell me yall can’t implement that into your app. I’ve made apps before with much more content. I’m a single human being. Imagine what you could make with a dedicated dev team. Be for real, it’s a money grab. Add those things and people will actually like your app.
Not perfect but it has its uses
I know some people are calling it useless but I disagree. I like being able to manage my inventory or send a retainer back out on a venture to bring me more mats when I have to be away from the game. I dont use the chat feature but if I was more social I would adore that as well. I bought some coins and use them when I have to make trips to the city to keep my retainer doing its thing as it brings me mats for crafting raid food. The app is slow and a bit buggy but I also think its probably cause it doesn’t get a ton of use and therefor not a ton of attention from SE. I think this app could be worked on some and made even better!
It’s okay
The app itself is okay, honestly it could use a lot of work and improvements. Kinda similar to how xiv first started out.. it’s a joke. I do e joy XIV very much!
Error 403, won’t open
What do these numbers mean? This app was mad convenient when I started using it and I loved being to engage w the marketboard when away from my computer… but now it won’t even get past the opening page before it gives me an error message and will move no further. It’s been a week. Bruh :(
Evolved into being a nice app
The app is simple, but convenient. It might have had a rough start years ago, but nowadays it is a useful little companion app
Needs work
Update: Y’all’s changed the layout system and I can no longer put things on the bottom of the screen, so the now clutter up over my character. This is not great, aesthetically speaking. The free version is OK, I guess. The paid version comes with some nice in game perks. I’d recommend some better sorting options on here however. Let me search my retainers in more efficient ways, if you’re going to charge this much, for example let me look for all gear that can be used by a 40-49 Bard.

I’m confused
So I got this to see what it had to offer because I only have the free account so I don’t get on that much but when I logged in it said I don’t have a current sub so I couldn’t even see what the app offered because I couldn’t get past that page which is a shame.
Premium Subscription
Offers spare Saddlebag and Retainer. Extra spot to register cheaper teleport cost. Tomestone emote and access to the market board when away from PC or console. It’s okay service. Limitation on editing prices and listing with Kupo nuts sucks.
Amazingly Useful, I just don't play FFXIV anymore.
The title says it all, and I quit FFXIV because I couldn't get into Endwalker's first MSQ Dungeon. Other than that, this app and FFXIV are both amazing, and I highly recommend giving them a chance.
Cash grab
To do what you really want the app for, you have to spend money, at that price you better off getting more retainers
Works well on IPhone 8 Plus
The only thing I don’t like is you have to subscribe to get retainers. You should be able to sell your stuff on the market without that. I haven’t made it that far in the game yet, so I don’t even have one retainer. You can sell your stuff on this app at a fixed price but the market is better to get more money. I would say overall this app is pretty neat. You must be logged out of the game in order to use it though. Great for chatting too.
Useless Unless You Spend Real Money
The app itself works. So good job to the app development team. But it’s a pay to use any useful features. Let’s be honest, this app was developed for the .0001% of players that are so concerned about managing retainers and markets that they will spend hundreds of dollars a month in this app. Other than that, it’s practically useless. Yes, it’s designed for whales and whales only. SE figured out how to get Gem purchases in FFXIV without making the player base mad.

Hi SE Team, This app has a huge potential. What definitely needs to be done since u pay 5$/month: 1. Change UI and make it more futuristic with quick and easy to navigate UX. 2. Add retainers an option to assign ventures. 3. Add Squad to assign training etc. 4. Unlimited access to sell and buy on Market Board 5. Access to Glamour Dresser 6. An option to set up notifications/alarm for any unspoiled, folklore, and ephemeral nodes. 7. Notifications when your retainer is back from Adventure and an option to assign a new one. 8. Please give it some love to this app, it has a potential Promise you, after all of this is added, players will use it on daily basis. Thank you so much. Love FFXIV Universe.
Current version is great
I only use the free version of the app, but I make sure I send one of my retainers on the free daily venture!
Greed on top of greed
You have to pay to use the game per month, pay to use the app with another monthly subscription, and they have the gall to limit your interactions with the app unless you’re willing to pay more per interaction. Disgusting, just nasty.
It’s Really Handy
Except for the kupo nuts and there’s no retainer abilities.
Disappointing
Make the communication from the app to and from the game server as a minimum for the free version. Eliminate the Kupo nut cap. Add glamour dresser settings. The free version is useless. The paid version is lackluster at best. Please and thank you Square Enix.
Not Landscape-View Compatible
Overall this is a good app which I find I use quite often on my iPhone. However, I was sorely disappointed to find that although there is an iPad version, it can only be used in portrait view and does not rotate when the device is turned sideways. Personally I use the Apple Keyboard with Touchpad, so my device is ALWAYS in rotated in landscape view, thereby all but rendering this app unusable. I will have to be content with using it on my phone I suppose…. *Sigh*
Helpful App Weighed Down by Outdated Reviews
Many of the one and two star reviews are from YEARS ago, but the criticisms don’t apply to it in its current form. There’s still a paid aspect to it, but it is not necessary to get your milage out of it. AND the base version unlocks a cute adventurer frame and a cute emote for your WoL in the MMO! Apart from that, the app recently received an overhaul in utility that makes it well worth the download.

Fun app wish there was more on release
Its a new app bugs are expected. Don’t like the fact I can’t find a log out button so i can log into my other character/account. Premium version offers a lot and can’t wait to upgrade to it however that’s not released yet. Over all its a nice chat platform for characters that play, your friends list is on there, linkshell members and your FC members are shown under those categories. You can change your prices on the market board however that is limited as you need 1 kupo nut to change 1 items price (You only get one kupo nut a day on the free plan and 2 on premium) but i believe this is good as it keeps no lifers from constantly undercutting their items. Excited for the premium plan for extra storage and being able to move my retainers items around wherever i am. Its a good app Idea in general and I’m excited for more support it will have and hopefully more function in the future.
Not loading new character images
I’m not new to the game I have multiple characters and everytime I add a new character it takes a week or more before the character’s image appears on the image. I love the app because I can buy and sell straight from the app but I like showing off what armor my character is wearing… please fix so I can re review for better score.
Need improvements
I could not find any use of this app unless you are looking for some rare items on market board even if you are not online in-game. It will be great if we can do squadron missions and trainings via app, I am sure every will love to use the app more frequently. This is just a suggestion.
Extremely worth it
Please don’t listen to the really old reviews! This app has changed so much and for the better. You can do so many things now. You can send your retainers off! You can buy items from the market board! (This is especially awesome because it’s real-time updated and not run by PC plug-ins. So if an item gets posted by a person who does NOT use the plug-in, websites like Universalis won’t show it. This is how I was able to get a 20k gil unhidden leather map!) You can also put things up for sale and change their prices and take them down, you can move inventory items around, or combine them. The app is extremely useful. Plus if you use the paid version, you get a free retainer plus an extra chocobo saddle bag
Trash app
Pointless app that requires payment to do anything. Anyone with 5-star reviews is intentionally lying.
Needs Journal
I think journal access would help.

Make it persistent!
Got my /tomestone emote, But it doesn’t loop! Who scrolls on their phone and puts it away after 2 seconds? Not the warrior of light that’s for sure. The app itself is slow, clunky, and very limited. Be nicer if I could browse the market board for current prices on things for crafting and raid, but oh well. I’ll change it to 5/5 if my emote loops!
