Easy and intuitive
First time using for my holiday to Tasmania as there are hardly any Tesla chargers, very happy thus far, very easy and reliable. No dramas with charging and receiving my invoices.
Unable to charge at 3 stations
They said had reset but kept failing. Used the RAC one at caravan park but after an hour had done 8%
Notifications
The app is very useful overall, but one key feature that would significantly improve the user experience is real-time notifications for charger availability. Currently, I have to keep checking the app repeatedly to see if a charger has become free. While the amber and black icons indicate whether a charger is occupied or available, this still requires constant manual monitoring, which isn’t practical. It would be much more efficient if users could: • Set preferred or frequently used charging locations • Receive push notifications when a charger becomes available at those selected locations.
Why no carplay?
It doesn’t make any sense. Would give five stars if they did this simple thing.
App support to contact people in app
Can you add the ability to alert others that they have overstayed their park ac charging and someone else wants to charge like you can alert other drivers when your likely to end charging thanks

App Developer please do something or give up. App never worked reliably from day one. Please fix your bugs with Ai not keep updating with garbage in.
Works ok
Not too bad. Just not getting any notifications when charging is complete. Nothing blocked on iPhone.
Another unintuitive app
So I try to charge my car at Chargefox for the first time. Scan the QR code on the charger screen and I have to download 3Mb of updates for the app that I only install a week ago. Open the app and theres a map of where I am an a bunch of unlabelled buttons. Eventually worked out there is a station number on the charger. Search for the number in the app and it found a charger 600km away with the same number. Why would you use the same number for two different stations??? Scrolling down it gave me other chargers with different stations numbers in the parking lot, why not show the station number I searched for at the top of the list? Found the charger with my station number number and then it wanted to know if I was plugged into port A or B. It’s pitch black so I have to use a torch to find the port. This is an unnecessarily complicated process that has been poorly designed and tested.
Improvements needed
The application is generally good and reliable. It is however missing Apple CarPlay support which is sorely needed. Would be great to be able find nearby locations since many in-car navigation systems will find all chargers not a particular network. Also would be good to be able to unlock the charger with app using Apple Wallet or again through Apple CarPlay when you get to the charger.

Double billed me for simultaneous charge
I was billed for 2 different charges at the same time. I raised the mistake with support and they agree that it was physically impossible for me to be charging my car at 2 chargers simultaneously - but they plan to keep the money saying I must have selected the wrong charger initially and have paid for someone else’s charge. The app did not show 2 chargers happening simultaneously - and did not show a charge continuing after I left. It’s a pretty poor design if you’re going to charge me for a simultaneous charge - but the app can’t even show that happening (and is obviously a mistake)
Good but could be better
Chargefox is reasonably intuitive and does what you would expect most of the time. Things like push notifications of charger availability would be a great improvement.
More Frequently Feature Updates Needed?
This company is great what they’re doing and do hope to see grow much bigger faster so we can see more advanced faster charging and equally important app features that should have and long overdue as very far and few updates to app? Also the company needs to generate more revenue whether it be paid charging to improve products and services and stay well ahead to Tesla chargers? A 2.7 rating on App Store isn’t ideal but know this company could be easily be a 4.8+ in the next year with more frequent app updates! Thankyou
App wouldn’t load
I went to charge my car for the first time today and found the app wouldn’t load. In the end I had call support and they had to start the charge from their end. I was told to make sure I had the latest update but I’ve only just down loaded the app and joined. Hopefully I do t call to call them every time. Once started it actually worked really well..
For payment needs more options
Biggest drawback I have seen is recently I lost my bank card and I couldn’t charge publicly cos of lack of payment options Kindly add PayPal or Apple and Google pay on the app as method of payment so in case due to unforeseen circumstances people can pay as they go or atleast let people add some balance in the app directly through bank or some creative solution rfid is good but still never thought I would ever need it so never really cared untill I needed one
Chargers don’t work
Awful experience. Arrived on low charge and couldn’t get any of their chargers to work!
Alert
Happy with the app! To improve the app further, I’d love to have the option of setting an alert/push notification when a charging station or spot becomes available.
Woeful app. Woeful service.
Completely unreliable and the service is the worst ive ever encountered from an actual company. The charging station didn’t allow e to update payment details. And when it did the charging station had a fault of all of a sudden! I called the support and they repeatedly hung up on me. And so I was stranded with a bunch of kids unable to do anything.
Weird update
Update said new look yet the look is exactly the same. Are the developers invoicing Chargfox for something they haven’t done? Secondly the ‘help’ questions are some of the most limited I’ve ever seen. It’s incredible what’s not there. One of the most obvious would be deleting a vehicle without deleting your account. A basic requirement if you sell a car! Or add another car. Why would you not be able to have a second car on the account? But no, no information. Amateur hour.

If you want to pay way overs for electricity, a Chargefox station is for you

Works for me Filters are not very straight forward to use. However biggest problem is that there is no CarPlay

Now there are no chargers for non-Tesla vehicles around Gundagai
Functional but could be great!
The system is quite painless now on my iPhone. However, I really wish it integrated with the Apple Watch and provided a widget and the ability to put it on Lock Screen: if it does I am struggling to find it.
Can’t verify credit card
Charged me twice and keep showing error - your internet is too slow after input my credit detail. No issue with my internet. This is an issue that is not acceptable!
Good but could improve.
Always had a good experience. However I do like Evie’s capacity to plug in and charge without having to use RFD or the app. So easy and if they can do it, why not ChargeFox?
Nothing but trouble.
I have to ring nearly everytime I want to charge me car. No matter where I am and what charging station I try. Don't get me started on how many of these charging stations don't work. I was stranded in a rural town when all 3 chargers in that town were down. It's so common Im considering getting rid of my EV...
Poor and faulty
The charging stations on this app are regularly out of service and faulty. The platform and developer says that they don’t own the infrastructure - however they should force charger owners to fix their chargers within a certain time if they want to remain on their platform!! Where’s the enforcement of an SLA?
Good communication feature
Having the ability to leave a message to fellow users about how long the intended charge is going to be has been a good update. One addition to this would be to include the option to show if other users are waiting on site to charge next.
Difficult
Not a great first impression, wouldn’t charge had to call and get them to do it remotely. One charge station had a fault but didn’t find out until I called, didn’t show on screen. Too many steps to get charging, Evie charge is sooooo much better, with Evie I just plug in and go.
Bad service not a bad app
I’ve tried calling chargefox but they say it’s up to individual location owners which makes it really hard to lodge issues. Chargefox basically never works, don’t bother with it. It’s been YEARS and even after “upgrades” they’ve added 50Kw hour new chargers to Euroa and Barnawartha. Thats SO SLOW - it takes like 90 minutes minimum to charge. I would love an alternative to Tesla but my goodness Chargefox is unreliable and when it does work it’s far too slow. It’s also the like 6 years now, I’ve lost all hope they’ll function as an actual improving company.
Needs CarPlay/watchOS Support
I honestly don’t why the many of the reviews here are complaining about Chargefox - granted, I’ve only ever used Chargefox EV chargers at one particular location… But I’ve never had a problem with them, and they have always worked well for me, even if the interface (the way the application looks and works) is a little clunky. It would be great to see Chargefox updated / upgraded to include widget, CarPlay and / or Apple Watch (watchOS) support, as these would allow users to more easily find a nearby EV charger, identify when said EV charger is available, monitor the status of charging and be notified when charging is complete. When you consider the purpose of this application, it actually seems a little bizarre that widget, CarPlay and / or Apple Watch (watchOS) are not supported.
Not sure what it is or how to use it.
I was told to use two apps, Chargefox and other “government recommended” app. I thought Chargefox would be easy to use. It sees me on the map and nothing else. The other app shows plenty of charge stations around me. I thought I may need to change the filters but they are all on, all of them. My map should be filled with charging stations and there is not one. Pointless app. Doesn’t work and the help function is pitiful. UPDATE - No, this is not a case of the incorrect app. Your app doesn’t work as intended. iPhone 14, iOS 26.1

When things don’t charge, you call, wait forever , they hang up and don’t call back.
