Thumbs up
This app has saved me from so much annoyance. I’ve been able to filter out almost all unwanted political ads that were coming in non stop for quite some time. Initially it also caught some needed txts but I was able to use the filtering system to correct. I tried one other app prior that promised to filter for political ads and didn’t work at all, so I was skeptical. But this one definitely works and for a reasonable Price!
Not blocking
This apps it’s not working properly and not blocking any ad sms DO NOT use it
iOS 26
מאז עדכון iOS 26 האפליקציה לא מסננת תוכן
Doesn’t work
This app. Allows you to add words to a list. When one of those words is in a text, it’s supposed to block that text, but it doesn’t.I’m still getting text with the blocked text words on the list. My suggestion is to add blocked area codes to the list.
Update
I originally thought this app didn’t work at all. But then I figured out that you have to enable it in settings. That’s the good news. The bad news is that exposes texts from unknown senders including verification codes. Not sure how I feel about that. So I have not tried it. So I don’t know whether it works or not
Got my phone back under control
This app is so easy to use. I’ve been mercilessly bombarded with political texts that will not stop - it should be a crime. I was at my wits end. This app filters custom phrases in texts into your junk folder. You don’t even see them and the political texts can rot in purgatory where they belong. Thank you so much for this app!!! Highly recommend.
Does nothing
Added in two words to block, the next 3 texts I received had both words. This app does nothing. It has no real function.
Needs a feature
The app needs a feature like an override whitelist, where when a name is blacklisted, the message containing the word will be blocked regardless of whitelisted words, this will be helpful in blocking those slimy companies that disguise their spam messages as important update message!
Can’t Report Anything
Looks like this app has been abandoned (almost a year without an update). It used to work but now you can’t even report messages. You get a screen with a “Report to TRAI” button and the form has nothing filled out. You can’t even fill out the form and the report button does nothing. Avoid at all costs!
Uzun süre eğitmeniz lazım
Machine Learning çalışmıyor. Gelen SMS’ler rastgele inbox veya junk’a düşüyor. Junk değilse gidip whitelist’e eklemek gerekiyor. Halbuki blacklist’te olmayanlar doğrudan inbox’a gelmeli, eğer istenmiyorsa elle blacklist’e dahil edilebilir. Her yeni geleni elle whitelist’e almaktan yoruldum, maalesef programı sildim.
Great app for cutting down on junk
This app has saved me from seeing 100s upon 100s of junk messages from the political machine asking for money. It does need updating to work correctly on iOS 26 though.
stopped working
Just doesn’t work anymore. Messages don’t even get filtered. Worthless
Report SPAM to TRAI
Не работает жалоба на спам.
İşe yaramıyor
Bonus ve casino kelimelerini içeren mesajı bile engellemedi. Her iki kelimeyi de blackliste eklemiştir oysaki
Daha iyi alternatifleri mevcut
URL içinde geçen kelimeleri kara listeye eklesem de filtrelemiyor.
Got my IPhone back! Why did I wait so long?
After making many contributions to political causes, I got “rewarded”with endless spam. This simple app got rid of them all! It’s very simple to use and has very powerful features. I like that I can use my own key words, like “Congress” or “ActBlue” and block (black list) or allow (white list) any text that has the words or terms I create. It is very customizable and has virtually enabled me to get my message app (which had been hijacked on my iPhone) back and usable again. Highly recommend. 5 stars.
Doesn’t do what it claims to
Even with adding words to the filter I’m constantly getting stupid recruiting text. And the app doesn’t catch them even though they contain words I’ve added to the filter. And when I enter the text into the “test” box, it says it will block it. But it never does. Not worth paying for premium if it doesn’t work.
Great app, one suggestion for improvement
It would be amazing to see the app integrated with iOS’s SMS spam filtering built-in categories like promotional and transactional. Categories are available in selected countries only.
Crash
Version 1.5 keeps crashing on iOS 12.
Looks good but… !
Why… is the blindingly bright with dark mode enabled? And the App Store rate button is broken. Feels like an app without any dark mode, I often wonder how much the devs focus on it, and really want it to be the best.
Great app
Free works great best app filters out all unwanted texts based on keywords
Doesn’t work
This is a great concept, but it doesn’t work. I am still getting texts with keywords that are clearly not being filtered.
Crashes during intro screens
App crashes during the intro cards and I can’t dismiss them. edit: it seems it was only happening on a network where I was blocking ads
it doesn’t work
the ml filtering doesn’t work. classifies useful messages (even OTPs) as junk. leaves out junk. i have to spoon feed it keywords for blocklist and whitelist. even after that i see messages containing OTP sitting in the junk. i regret paying for the ml filtering
Hit or Miss
Even after whitelisting things often times the messages are sitting in the junk section. My experience with this app is more like hit or miss. I don’t enjoy using it much.
Filter texts by keyword
This app is fantasic and has filtered tons(!) of political spam. Thank you!
Not worth it.
Does pretty much the opposite of it’s intention. It missed most junk messages and moved legit ones to junk. And there is no way to tell it that a message is legit. You have to go to its settings and try to find a keyword that will let it pass the next time. Not worth the trouble.
Easy to use could have some more nice features
Hi, The app is nice and clean, easy to use. I like the fact you aren’t taking my sms to a central server. Future enhancements I would love to see.. It would be great if you could organise existing messages into categories and then add the sender to whitelist back list. If you could also block the phone number at the same time that would be handy. Thanks
Apple watch
Program is very good but still the Apple Watch shows message notifications
Political Spam Protection!
Not that anyone cares but I accidentally signed up for bogus political texts last election cycle.. every day receiving 4-5 stupid texts about Elon, Trump, etc and just no end in sight even blocking all numbers. VeroSMS has finally given me peace and I can use my phone normally again without being bombarded with dumb texts! Try it 🙌
Blocks everything you don’t want it to
The crowdsourced list of acceptable words includes the derogatory slang for a black person. I turned that off immediately but thought the machine learning was a great idea. It blocked a ton of messages that weren’t spam. Overall just does a poor job at automatically filtering your messages. If you put in your own keywords and use only that then I guess this app is for you. Otherwise, I would look elsewhere.
Apple Watch notifications
make sure spam doesn't come on the apple watch, too
Filters the wrong messages.
I paid for the app expecting that I don’t need to manage the spam messages by myself. But the problem is it even filters the useful messages like this one “Are you available at 6:30 pm to have a interview ?” And the word which made it filter is avail, so the app filters ‘available’ also because it matches partially with ‘avail’.
Can you confirm if the sms reporting broken from trai end or VeroSMS
When ever I report an sms , I get this message from 1909 “ Dear customer, we are unable to process your request. Please try after sometime.”
Sanity saver!
With a little tweaking, I’m finally free from the constant harassment of political and spam texts. I don’t recommend the crowdsourced keywords since that results in over filtering, but I like this app because it preserves your privacy and leverages built in iPhone features to do its filtering.
Can’t get it to work
Can’t get it working on ios18. Texts are coming through as normal.
Awesome app. Just have some questions.
Hi Tanmay, I have been using this app since a long time. I recently purchased the full version. It's quite effective. In the new iOS 14 there is the feature to segregate the messages in categories especially Transactions and Promotions, which are not working. It says on top Filtered by VEROSMS. So when will this feature start, or am I doing wrong? That's it, thanks for the wonderful app. Looking forward to hearing from you soon. Bye!👋🏻
Stopped being effective
Started off ok but stopped being effective about 6 months later, with many spam messages getting through despite filters being active for specific keywords. Also the whitelist feature didn't work.
Does 50% of the job
I still review the junk folder cus sometimes genuine messages land there even though certain keywords have been whitelisted.
Stopped immediately
Just signed up yesterday, 100+ texts each day and this app stopped almost 100%. Yrs I had to use each tool offered with in the app! Think is was a total of $6, bit well worth the peace of mind!!! Thank you! John J
Doesn’t work
Bought it and set up hundreds of words in two languages and it filters nothing. Waste of money.
Recommended, but limited use
First, the good: The app works like charm in matching SMSes with words and moves them to junk folder, hence clearing up my inbox and notification center of the pests. Now the bug: The “filter if contains URL” feature doesn’t work. Finally, suggestion to the developers: You can also include a feature “block by word in title” for example, “loan” matches in title, then move the SMS to junk, or May be whitelist the SMS etc
Not perfect, but works better than most.
Downgraded to 3 since the app still keeps blocking one of my important bank SMSes. Even after updating iOS (which was deemed the cause) the issue isn’t fixed. Caveat: The app isn’t perfect; there are still some kinks to sort out in this app, however considering how much better this app is at doing its job as compared to the 10s of other such apps out there, I think this deserves a 5-star rating and more. I dunno about the ML that is advertised, but the crowdsourced whitelist and blocklist is super effective. Best is that you can chose to disagree with certain crowd sourced keywords and disable it for yourself. The developer is responsive on email as well and I’m happy there is someone behind the scenes and committed to making the app better. I can’t that for the 2-3 other apps that I paid for where the developer was last active 1 year back. So all in all, great developer support, great features that actually work, and tons of spam blocked!! That’s something worth paying for.
Custom keywords don’t work
Added few custom keywords but messages keep showing up. iOS message settings also in place.
Wizard!!
Brilliant approach using keywords to filter unwanted text /SMS messages. You can tailor (delete)the crowdsourced white list words to send ALL unwanted messages to junk!!
Cannot set up
The settings call for setting up messages for call blocking but does not have that setting in my iPad
Blacklist keywords and sms with url doesn’t work
Blacklist keywords and sms with url doesn’t work. When I test the message in the app, it works. But the same message didn’t go into junk.
Not able to restore sms from junk to inbox
Hi, app worked fine for long time but now few sms got wrongly filtered as junk. Added that number to whitelist but new msgs still keep on going to junk tqb. Please check how can I restore wrongly filtered sms from junk tab to main tab. I don't want to delete the thread as that will also delete the old messages in same thread..Any update on this?
Worked great until now
The app worked great but in the last week and a half, it’s not detecting spam messages. Please sort this out because it was wonderful to not be distracted by unnecessary spams.
