Super smooth and ad free
Game is smooth and fun to play plus no ads. Super underrated
Used to be great
Fun fast engaging but has begun to hang very frequently. 1/4 of games can’t be finished due to freezing. Desperately needs a bug fix. Follow-up. No effort to fix. Constant freezes on iPad Pro.
Fun, but needs work
It’s very fun to play, but the app takes forever to launch. There’s also a few super obvious quality of life gameplay improvements that are missing. The sound design is amazing though
Broken game
Just redownloaded after a year or two. Can’t finish games now due to the game just freezing and crashing. Was a great game, but doesn’t work anymore.
New Update?!?
Update: Thank you to the developer for the response. I can appreciate the situation, however I still have lost my purchases. I do not have X so there does not appear to be a way to make more direct contact to try to get my purchases restored. I’m still left with a game I loved and miss but no ability to move forward unless I spend more money. Love this game but the new update has not only wiped my progress as others mentioned but also my purchases. I had expanded the game decks and now I’m locked out. Hoping another repair update is coming soon….
Love this take on solitaire
I love this game! The UI is very nice. But I do wish I could reset my scores
Was great but just… stopped working
This was a fantastic app wonderful. But in the last three days, it just stopped working. It doesn’t get past the main screen anymore. It just sits there blank. I was going to go to app support, but it looks like that takes you to. An X account that hasn’t been active since 2017.
Challenging
The game is fun and very addictive. I have no problem paying a one time fee for use. The only thing I’ve been experiencing is the game locks my tablet up and I have to do a hard reset. What’s up?
Great but buggy
Very fun game with the buttery smooth interactions you’d expect from Zach Gage. While I generally love the game, I do not love having my data wiped out, which has now happened twice. It’s quite a shock to go from having won hundreds of games to none.
What happened!?!?
Same as other recent reviews. I opened my game one day and all my stats were off! On game Center I still have the number nine score worldwide in my particular niche but on the game the score is much much different like wiping out months of gaming, WTH, please fix!
Great game, worth the money
This is a fun and compelling solitaire game, but what makes it stand out is the numbered decks feature, allowing you to play against a friend or to try to beat your own score. Genius! I do have two quibbles, however, namely deck 71 in four card really does seem to be unbeatable. And, if you do not use X you cannot contact the developer. Overall, one of the best solitaire games out there and brilliant on a small screen.
Can’t play levels above 421
I purchased the next games after level 421 and have been playing in those levels above and now I’m locked out. Can’t seem to get any support.
fun game with unfair mechanic
very engaging version of solitaire, but the timer starts before the deck is even dealt. this cuts 3 seconds off your time for each match making the timed achievements even harder to get. i know it’s a small detail, but it’s really unfair and annoying.
iCloud sync messed things up.
I have been playing this game for years. The game is great, but the recent update caused me to reset back about a year of playing. I had played through deck 1335 on single suit. Now shows only through 975. In addition, in May I purchased up deck 1441 deck now I only show through 1221 unlocked.
Lost data
The latest update v 1.6.0 has lost most of my times and scores. Very annoying. I played daily for years and to have lost my data I just can’t face having to start again. I’m afraid I have deleted this app now.
Love this solitaire, but...
I've paid for the game on both iOS and Android, which shows how much I like it. However, a recent update on iOS restricts playing while in landscape mode, which is annoying as that's my preferred viewing on my iPad mini. My case stands up in landscape mode, while I would have to hold my tablet to play in portrait mode. Could you please fix that? Thx
no more fun
I loved this game and played it every day … but when I downloaded the new version it stuck in the beginner level and gave me no option to play the higher levels - I don’t want to play the apple arcade version- don’t want or need the arcade fluff - so I guess I am now shut out of my fav solitaire 👎🏼👎🏼👎🏼 boo to you Zach Gage.
Fixed issue
Wasn’t loading ads and couldn’t play but most recent update fixed the issue.
Love the game but it keeps shrinking and then is unplayable
Love the game and have even gone ads free. However, there is a glitch which means that on occasions it opens not in full screen on my iPad and then is unplayable. Very frustrating. My wife has the same problem with FlipFlop on her iPad
Latest update is buggy
The latest update for this app messes up all of the achievements you’ve earned. They are visible in game center, but not in the app itself. It also now takes at least 10 seconds to finish opening the app.
Without a doubt, my favorite game!
Thank you for creating FlipFlop Solitaire! Though I am not much of a game player at all, I play it incessantly every day. Gives me stimulating game play which I love. Anytime I’m waiting in line, in a waiting room or in between one thing or another, I play FlipFlop Solitaire! Keeps me occupied. Very well-designed and fun gameplay engagement. My only wish is that they would come up with a landscape/iPad version. I would be in absolute FlipFlop heaven!
Ads
The decision to add feature length ads between each game makes it unplayable
How can this use so much battery?
I have automations etc turned off. I don’t understand why this is so bad when I look at settings/battery. Is it mining bitcoin???
Buggy and Slow
I played the Apple Arcade version every day. In fact I was paying for Apple Arcade exclusively for this game. Then I realized I could pay for this once and just use this version, but it’s real bad. It’s so buggy and slow and looks to be abandoned. Oh well. He got my $3 so I guess that’s the end of it.
Played for years, first issues
***Updated app two days ago and the last 8-9 months of games I played are just gone. Game center still shows my achievements but the game itself no longer does. Help! Have played this game for years and love it. I've been going for the table sort achievements but it doesn't seem to be recording them consistently. I completed the ExSingle Suit table sort first, and it appeared to record properly. Now have done the regular single suit a dozen times and it won't record. I don't want to attempt on more challenging suits if it's not going to count!
Awesome
This is one of my favorite games. It is challenging but completely doable. I love how I go from not being able to think about completing a 4 suit to being able to do 1 and then another and another. It’s also calming, which is so helpful when I’m trying to relax and keep my mind on something. Love it!!
Ads, Ads, Ads
No longer have apple Arcade(too expensive). Tried the “free” version. The overwhelming ads completely ruin the experience. DELETE! Might have purchased a paid version, but did not see that option.
Landscape on iPad, please
I love this app. I use it all the time. My only gripe is there’s no consistent landscape move for iPad. The app will rotate occasionally, but it’s hit or miss and there’s no way to choose that option in setting as far as I can tell.
Can’t clear the ads!
Reasonable game - nothing wrong with it when you get to play it… but right now it is pushing pre-game ads you can’t skip, and that won’t clear when they’re finished. Restarting just runs up another ad with the same problem. I don’t mind supporting your development on ad revenue, but come on dude - at some point let actually play the game!
New Cloud sync has rolled back progress
Yesterday’s update has rolled back my progress! I had 1000 wins on all games apart from three suit, where I had 930. Both four suit and three suit have been rolled back months, only 100 or so wins on each. Help?!
Amazing
I almost never leave reviews but had to for this game. I love Solitaire, and this has been my favorite Solitaire app so far :) it’s the only Solitaire app I’ve actually paid for, because the dev deserves it!
Can’t use without internet
Want to play on the plane or in the car on a road trip? You better have internet so you can load an ad before you can play. Completely unusable without internet. What a trash design. Don’t bother with this one
Fun but glitchy
The game is super fun, but I’ve found that particularly when playing fast (several of the achievements are speed based), the game glitches out. The only way to break the freeze is to restart the game, which results in a loss for some reason. It’s too bad- I love the game otherwise!
Won’t restore my purchase
Bought and paid for all the decks 2017-18, now it says they can’t find my data in the cloud. Also, can’t do landscape mode again. Love the game, went to college w/ the dev (probably doesn’t know me, happy for his success). 5 star game is a bit buggy
Great game but…
I play this a fair bit and have done for a long time, I consistently play single suit and extended single suit to try and get as fast as I can, currently I’m ranked 3rd on the extended single suit (42 seconds) and until recently I was ranked 6th (I can’t exactly remember because of the issue I’ve now had) on single suit for fastest time (30 seconds) though it’s more like joint second with the other people on the leaderboard who had the same time, the issue is that now my time doesn’t count, it’s been a longstanding record of mine that I set quite a few years ago and have been working towards beating, I understand removing times that appear to be cheated or hacked such as 15 second times that were there previously but the main issues are that I now cannot get back on the leaderboard as I can’t actually beat my own time to tell the game that I’ve set a new record, meaning my genuine time is lost as it was removed from the leaderboard and since 30 seconds appears to be the upper limit of what’s possible in the game (the best I’ve achieved in recent times is between 32-34 seconds) I cannot get back on the leaderboard
Worth the $2.99
If you really like solitaire, in all its varieties, this version is really worth playing. It’s a very interesting remix of the game, infinitely replayable. I play it when I want to relax, I’m bored, anxious, whatever. It’s just fun, and makes you think just enough. To the people complaining about the price - I understand that mobile games are generally considered to be less-than, and not worth more than $1 to get rid of ads. I’ve played many of Zach Gage’s games and they are are thoughtfully and beautifully made, with a lot of intention behind the design. This guy is an indie game developer, and paying him makes it easier for him to keep making new games or improving the ones you already like. I saw one review say they’d played over 2000 rounds of this game, but still thought $3 was ludicrous for a card game. I think that actually is an insanely good value for all the time they’ve spent with it! All that’s to say, consider changing the way you think about pricing and value for mobile games, and maybe get to know the makers a little better too!
Why did you take my game away?
For the longest time, this was one of my favourite games. Then suddendly, landscape mode disappeared without a warning. This makes it effective unusable for me. I will not fiddle it out of the case just to awkwardly hold it while playing. Please bring landscape mode back for good and I will happily give back the 5 stars.
Fun but can’t play without connection
This game is extremely fun for those who like solitaire and want to switch it up a bit. It’s a creative twist on the classic game. That being said, here are a few of my complaints. 1) If you aren’t connected to the internet and able to watch ads, the app stops you from playing. I get that ads are where developers make their money, but games like solitaire are the ones people want to play on the road, on planes, etc where having connection isn’t possible. It basically makes it so that I can only play the game at home because let’s be honest, I’m not using data that I pay for just to watch ads I don’t want to see. 2) The app has been a bit glitchy lately and I see this stuff isn’t getting fixed since the games been abandoned for over a year. Nothing too bad, but the sizing of the screen and border gets messed up, the menu buttons stop working until I restart the app, etc.
Don't buy
The card game is fine but the ads take over and can't be canceled unless you watch them all the way through. It would not let me get to the main screen to restore my purchase. SO FRUSTRATING.
Ads are hanging up my device
This is a fun game and I enjoy playing it. But lately I have been unable to exit the ads. They won’t advance to a screen that can be closed. Life is too short to put up with that.
It’s good
I’ve played more hours on this game across three devices and many years than I could ever guess. I’m pretty sure this game single-handedly carried me through some tough times. It’s simple to learn, designed well, and satisfies my need to have something to do while listening to podcasts. I’ve paid for this game three times now and I’ll keep doing it until it or I am dead.
Only portrait mode?
Not being able to play in landscape makes this useless on my ipad. Used to love it.
Needs full version.
Love this game. But you need a full version of it (ad-free) for sale that doesn’t require Apple Arcade. I love your games, but I’m simply not willing to shell out $5/month indefinitely in order to play them.
The ads killing it
Unskipable 30-60 seconds long ads after every game. It’s too much. I won’t buy any product that has such annoying marketing as the same minute long video every five minutes. Such a shame because the game is nice.
Tutorial only for Apple Arcade version?
I do enjoy the game, but it feels like the non-AA version was never finished. There’s no tutorial - that I can find - and the rules aren’t intuitive. I learned how to play the basic game via Apple Arcade, (yours was the only game I kept after I canceled the subscription) but I don’t understand the concept of opening 5-suit and above. Will I ever get full access, or will it always be something to be won? I don’t understand how you earn any of the 5 points needed for 1 free-play - is it random? Score-based? I hate all your ads but I can’t find an option to buy the game. (Not sure I would, but I’d like to know the cost.). Finally, will you *please* include only those ads that let the user turn off the sound? I like to play while listening to podcasts, and it is really annoying to lose the sound when I win a hand. I understand that ads are where you get your revenue but they are very often repeats and I don’t like being stuck listening to the same stupid music over and over again.
Excellent fun
I have spent an embarrassing number of hours entertained by this game! I like fun, but not mindless, pass times and this hits the mark. For iPad folks missing the landscape view (that will be restored soon), force close the game if open, switch your iPad to portrait, open the game, then rotate to landscape. This works on my iPad Pro.
Internet connection required just to load ads; no free offline play
First time I've encountered an an app requiring an internet connection solely to load ads. A message letting me know that an ad needed to be loaded with an internet connection popped up on the second day I tried to play a game. No where in your description or requirements is this need listed. If this had been made known to me beforehand, I never would have downloaded the app. Hopefully you will consider being more up front with your intentions as an app developer in the future. Instead you wasted my time by not disclosing this from the start. I hope this review is helpful for you Zach Gage to be more forthcoming with your design choices.
Great Game but Landscape mode note working.
This is a well designed game but my only issue is not being able to get landscape mode working.
Why does it ask how familiar you are with game
The first experience after downloading is very odd. It asks how familiar you are with the game, and even you say “I play it everyday”, it still insists on making you run through every step of the tutorial, and if memory serves correctly, it keeps offering tips too. So why bother asking? Later: review dropped from 4* to 2* because of repeated and very intrusive adverts.
Awesome game but
Game has been glitchy lately. The game will no longer play when holding iPad horizontal. Tried to report the issue elsewhere but had no luck. Am addicted to the game otherwise!
