Returning customer because it is just what we need
We had Philo originally in 2017 or so when it was dirt cheap (still is for what you get). We switched to a competitor at some point a few years later in order to get live channels without having to use an antenna. After several price hikes and paying $83 a month for the competitor, we just returned to Philo and realize just how great it is. The price is great, you can switch to a different channel and watch from the beginning (with the competitor, when you hit record, you only record from that point on). The interface isn’t cluttered and despite 720p, the picture is clearer because of a stable bitrate. Love it!
Worst Streaming Service Availible
I’m sick to my stomach that I didn’t cancel this horrible, expensive, and unnavigable streaming service before my free trial ended. I’ve never had a free trial that has given me the certainty that a service was not worth it prior to falling for Philo’s 7-day free trial. The amount of ads which assail you, even (and especially) on on-demand viewings, is inexcusable, especially for a service which starts at $25 a month ($300/year). Use literally any other streaming service or cable provider - I can’t think of one I’d prefer to use less than Philo. There is not one feature which comes to mind that would justify Philo’s existence, or its price-tag, and I would leave 0 stars if I could.
Crashing
Love the app but problems lately. If I’m watching from the mobile app it completely crashes and I have to go back and find what I was watching again. Sucks because I play a show while I listen at work and I don’t have time to keep restarting it. App is up to date.
Would be better
On my tv it lags badly, but on my phone it don’t lag it just over heats my iPhone. Is there a way to fix or not. If there is a way I will give 5 stars but until than it will be a 2 cause I can’t not watch on tv without it lagging and it loading.

I am Loving & Enjoying Philo so much & very Happy with it! It is very affordable with over 100 channels plus the ability to save shows. Philo has my ❤️
The ads for it are fake
The adds for the app claim that it’s a free movie app witch it’s not. Can’t even delete your account once you made it until you pay for a subscription. Like wtf.
Update
Ever since the update in my 2024 Samsung smart tv Monday night the app has been freezing and buffing. It’s not my tv or WiFi all my other apps work fine . Please fix this issue I had no problems until the Monday night I have Philo for over three years now

Ridiculous Amount Of ADS
Your app keeps pestering me for a review so here you go! The ridiculous amount of ads that you have to endure on this app, for the amount of money I’m paying it’s absurd and makes me want to cancel the service. Do better for $35 a dang on month!!

Too many commercials. Deleted apo!
I understand there have to be commercials, but when the commercials occur every 10-15 minutes at times and the commercials are 4-5 minutes, or even longer how can one enjoy the show they want to watch.

Philo made it almost impossible to cancel and provides less channels for more money
Buffering
Good channel line up for the price. Unfortunately they have a lag that I can’t look over currently being a youtubeTV subscriber. Philo buffers and freezes way too often. I will stick with YTv for now until Philo figures it out.

SCAM WILL CONTINUE CHARGING EVEN AFTER CANCELLATION - NO REFUND POLICY
Total scam app. I have cancelled my subscription 4 times and am STILL being charged without my consent. Customer service was completely unhelpful and told me they “don’t do refunds” despite the fact that they were never authorized to charge me in the first place. Disgusting.
Good but Bad
Philo has good channels, but I have more issues with delays and stalling. It’s not my internet because I have a top tier package. Not sure if it’s the updates or what.

Can’t cancel.. they hide it
Tried to sign up and watch a show as free only to find that I have to record it first then watch back… not fit for me so decide to cancel right away.. had 7 day trail. Tried to cancel with in 10 minutes.. been trying for 45 mins now via google now the ap..etc This is messed up… And it still not canceled..
Heavy battery drainer
I actually love the app and the product. Philo seems to be a consumer friendly product which cares about the user experience. What makes me use it more is that the iPad app drains my battery like crazy. I thought it was just my old iPad but even my new one gets hot and quickly runs out of battery. Please fix and I will instantly update my rating to a 5 star.

The worst app to see a movie
You pay 25$ and still you would have adds and not just 3 or 4 in the movie but you would have 25 by 3 minutes.
More ads than show
Not only are there too many ads but the length of them are too long! No other app has ads that run this long and that are this frequent but yet it’s one of the highest in price! I just don’t get it. I shouldn’t have to pay more for no ads when the price is already high. And I see that I’m not the only one that feels that way so something has to give at some point because this is ridiculous.

Be prepared for the commercials repeating the same ones over and over, especially the Nissan ones!

I’ve had this app for YEARS! I’ve referred many people back when you got a bill discount for them. I tell everyone about it. I’m a little sad to say that recently I can’t watch anything on my phone because it won’t play. It will just sit on the screen and then time out. The app works fine on my smart tv’s which I use it on too. I have no complaints about the channels except I wish it had TCM and a few of the mainstream news stations. Other than that I’ve been happy with Philo. Just wish it would work properly on my phone again. Looks like the app stopped working on any IPhone below a 15 which is terrible. Hopefully developers read these reviews and work to make the app work for all of us again.

Why is there so many ads?
Please stop with the ads. You can’t tell me it’s to keep it cheap because over the 4 years I’ve used Philo it’s so expensive now. It’s gone up and up with more and more ads. I’m canceling for sure. If I’m going to pay that much might as well pay for YouTube tv with 1 or 2 ads. You got big and you got greedy
It’s okay but…
I like the app. It has a lot of shows I love that I can’t find anywhere else. However, for the price I pay the app has a lot of issues. After every episode I watch the app freezes and I have to close it or redownload it for it to work again. I’m paying $30 a month. There should be NO PROBLEMS for that amount of money.
