What people like
- Syncs settings across devices smoothly and fast
- Battery meter is useful for Maxwell users
- Custom EQ presets work well now
What they complain about
- EQ page gets stuck on loading screen
- App crashes constantly when opening settings
- Fails to connect to the headset via Bluetooth
It works
Custom eqs work now
Buggy and crashes
The unit has the spinning wheel of death, then crashes. I am only able to adjust the volume with the app. If I click anywhere else, the program crashes.
Works pretty well
The app works alright, it randomly turns on the volume limit and I have to turn it back off, same with the side tone setting. Other than those two things the app appears to function well although the eq preset loading times can be a bit slower than expected for modern systems. Battery meter is nice for the Maxwell, as well as the other available setting available. Sound suppression settings appear to be missing from the app and would be an appreciated addition, though not necessary as the headphones have a physical button and audio notification that function without the app.
App crashes every time I click settings.
OS: iPhone 18.7.2. Can’t open settings. App will crash 100% of the time. Tried phone restart & reinstalling.
This is a high-end headset app, it does not work properly.
It crashes constantly, good looking interface but it is worth nothing if it does not work as it should. 3 stars because it used to work (weeks ago). Now the EQ does not work at all. It stays in the loading screen.
Passt
Tut, was sie soll.
Useless garbage
Crashes the instant you go to the settings. $300 headset btw. 2 star rated app but yes AppStore, please continue to show everyone the fake 5 star reviews first.
Enfin une prise en charge !
Attention, il faut d’abord connecter le casque en Bluetooth sur le smartphone avant d’allumer la PS5 ! Sinon pas moyen de configurer le son pour la console.
slow
app is very slow when you want to use the eq takes many minutes to load

Ratings are not fair
iPhone 13Pro, IOS 17 Everything is smooth and works well. I see a lot of negative feedback still this app helps and synchronises all the settings over the air to the headphones and the PC app at once without delays.
App is terrible
The app automatically closes once I go to settings
Add BT functionality please
These work really well with my Cipher v2 cable, but they really need to add EQ functionality for the Cipher BT cable. Pleaseeeee!!
It’d be nice to be able to adjust the EQ
The one thing I occasionally need this app for is to adjust settings for the custom EQ presets on my new Audeze Maxwell. However, whenever I switch to the EQ view, it briefly shows the controls and then displays a spinner that never goes away. As a software developer that works on world class desktop and mobile apps for professional use, I’d be embarrassed to release something like this and not maintain it properly. It’s not even a complex app. This is some first year CS student level garbage. Start by firing the engineering and product managers. Hopefully Sony will clean house because this is amateur hour.
Keeps crashing
It worked the first time I opened the app but it’s kept crashing everytime after that
Much improved.
This app was a mess early on, but it is much improved. Still needs a few minor tweaks, but solid overall. Audeze if you are listening please add ONE key feature: PEQ. If you add PEQ (parametric equalization) this would make the Maxwell & HQ combo the un contested best value in audio. Thank you.

terrible app has multiple issues

Needs improvement
Unfortunately it is not functioning very well. I can’t change the EQ Presets on my Maxwell at all.
Great to have Maxwell support
App is slow and hangs a lot but it gets the job done if you need to set the EQ or check settings. Their names are confusing since they have 3 different apps in the app store. They should really rename them to Audeze Speakerphone, Audeze Headphones and Audeze Cipher or something to make it clear which app works for each device. This one works for Maxwell though. Better yet, wish it was all just 1 app. Also the support link takes you to their zendesk support agent login screen instead of the user facing help center 😂
Why the low reviews ?
The app delivers and it is simple. No crashes i would give it 10 stars if I could!
App won’t let me access “EQ”
Keeps me on a loading screen. I can’t change the audio presets.
Bugs
App works fine other than the eq page that just endlessly loads. Also a pain to use as you have to disconnect from the usb dongle to use the app even though the headset seems to stay connected to my phone when using on pc. The one time I got the eq page to work adjusting the sliders for custom eq was painfully slow and tedious. App is pretty much useless without the eq functionality.
Probably should fix this app for Penrose
I just got my penrose today, sounds unlike anything else at this price point. Only if this app was as good as the headphones... Currently cannot detect my headphones, and cannot apply any EQ. Headphone was connected to my iPhone through Bluetooth.
Nice add for iSine20
Works great, no really need for EQ but for older recordings. Ideal link to iPhones
Doesn’t even work
Just infinitely loads the settings even after resetting my headset and redownloading app
Simple app, but..
Simple app, but the most important feature (EQ) isn't working for me. Everytime I go to the EQ tab, it gets stuck loading forever. Everything else works fine besides that. I keep having to use the Mac app to change EQ, which is getting annoying.
Low reviews have incompatible cables
Admittedly this is confusing (cipher v2 vs v1, which is not obviously designated on the iems themselves), but probably not worth tanking the overall ratings of this perfectly fine app.
Not working ios26, Skip sidetone
Love my headphones! They sound amazing and the battery life is the best (lasts me a whole week with daily listening). The biggest problem is sidetone, it just adds feedback and distortion when it’s on. If I’m having any sound anomalies it’s usually because I accidentally turned on sidetone. Great headphones for movies, music and gaming on my pc! I do not like how bluetooth interrupts usb dongle sounds so I have to forget the headphones on my phone and tablet when I want to game without interruptions.
Crashes
As far as apps for high end headphones go this is a pretty good however dated looking interface. This app is great aside from the excessive crashes. Whenever I am trying to fix some EQ settings it would crash trying to load them. Rendering the app just about useless if you catch it on a bad day.
Perfect EQ for LCD-i3
With the so-called Lightning Cipher-Cable from Audeze you can modify the EQ settings perfectly fine.
Garbage app
You would think an app for a $300 headset would be well maintained and easy to use. Not the case here. Completely unable to use with my Maxwells and have been trying all day.
Needs fixing ASAP!
what’s the point of releasing an app for adjusting EQ, if you can’t adjust the eq while gaming. Makes absolutely 0 sense. 🤦♂️
App works fine. Know which cable you are using.
As I state in the title, Know which cable you are using first then you will be fine. Each app ( there are only two ) corresponds to either the Cipher V1 or V2. If I may make a suggestion though Audeze... Please create a few more presets. Also, An app like these for the Bluetooth Cipher cable would be fantastic. The Bluetooth capability is great, but without EQ settings it kinda feels like the iSines are being nerf’d a little. Thank you.
GARBAGE IN 2025
I cannot connect my maxwell to the app no matter what I try.
Just sits there... :(
App opens asking to plug in your Audeze lightening headphone. I do. Nothing happens! One extra star for nice icon.
