Great Moves replacement
Great app. Used to love Moves. This is a great replacement for that. Does use quite a bit of battery but that’s expected with the background location usage.
Used to be a great app but not maintained
Update: it’s gotten worse. Some familiar places are auto-labeled. But it’s impossible to label an unknown or mis-labeled location. Can’t even use the nearby places workaround anymore. Original: Unfortunately I’m still having the same issues as the previous reviewers. (Nearly) every attempt to edit a location fails because it cannot find nearby locations. If the one you want is private or doesn’t happen to be in the nearby locations suggestions you’re out of luck. Even before that it was getting worse in other areas like figuring out proper segment splits. I’d have to merge ‘Home’ 10 times for what should have been a continuous segment. Or go into a ‘location’ with clear driving segments and split it up manually. And there’s always been issues with nearby location searches. In dense areas, the available locations to switch to are very limited. And the search bar only checks within that existing limited list. It would ideally return all locations within a given distance, rather than some arbitrary max number. And if you search for a location by name and in finds nothing, it should go search further away.
Accurate but Drains Battery
I have been using another app similar to this for six years, but the cost and lack of updates became prohibitive so I found Quantified. My only gripe so far in the little time I’ve been using it, is the battery drain. The previous app I used (LifeCycle) didn’t drain my battery that way even though it used my location all the time. I will use it for today and if it drains my battery too much, it will have to go. I usually get a full day from my phones battery and I don’t want to impede that if I can help it.
Ludovic, Please fix or make open source—Stopped finding places
In November, 2025, the Quantified Map app “Could not load places around this location” when trying to assign a place (name) to an “Unknown place.” This kills the usefulness of this app! Ludovic, are you available to fix this? When it happens, I cannot even enter a private place as an alternative.

Great App
This is a great app, very accurate in its location and activity tracking, nice integration of photos. Very easy and reliable to use, too.
Excellent App In Its Day - Appears to be Abandoned
This app does one thing really well… tracks your movements throughout the day. You can get a timeline view, a map view or a stats view. It gets your location and movements pretty well. Though you do often have to go in at the end of the day and fine tune your location. I also find that it never knows when I go to the car wash (maybe because I’m moving the entire time). But you can go back and select the specific location, how you were moving from place to place (car, bus, walking, cycling, etc) and add locations. But here’s the bad news. As of this review (4/22/2024), the app hasn’t been updated in 10 months. I also emailed support multiple times and even reached out to the developer on his social media - no response. Some features are starting to show their age and don’t work. Specially, sharing your stats doesn’t work. And you can’t even share your timeline… which to me is the best graph. Also, and this is huge, there appears to be no backups and no way to manually backup your data. So no syncing or backing up to Dropbox or Google and no sharing to other devices. If your data gets corrupted it’s going to all be gone. Why spend months collecting data if it’s never backed up or shareable. Developer is also not keeping up with iOS updates. I hope the developer regains interest or sells the app to someone willing to keep it going - it really is the best tracking app I’ve ever found. But I imagine it will be completely gone in the near figure.
Great App!
This is a great App. The only thing missing is the ability to manually and automatically export in GPX format.
Unresponsive?
The app is not clear how to use. No option to start tracking session, doesn’t show location, won’t import gpx.
would like it, but..
it doesn’t show all the activities that the watch can track, i.e. i’m a skateboarder and it’s a high intensity activity. would love to rate it higher as it’s reminiscent of Moves (which i liked before they shuttered) so i’ll keep an eye on it for new activities being added, but will keep it deactivated till then.

When moves shut down, I tried several apps as replacements. I wish I'd stayed with this one, because the ones I went with suddenly became subscription only, at high cost. I just wanted something that did what Moves did. Finally I revisited this one and rediscovered how great it is. Highly recommended!

Alle paar Minuten ein anderes Verkehrsmittel?? Trotz Korrektur ändert sich der Algorithmus nicht. Auch die Orte liegen meilenweit entfernt und auch hier lernt der Algorithmus nicht. Schade. Gelöscht.

You don’t collect personal data and it’s free? It’s not open source, so it’s hard to verify the claim. I’d happily pay for a license, but it just seems too good to be true. 🤔
Abandoned app and iOS 16.1 breaks it 😪
Too bad the developer seems nowhere, iOS 16.1 breaks this app and it probably won’t be fixed. So sad….
Daten verschwunden?
Ich benutze die App selten aber regelmässig hauptsächlich um Photos nachträglich zu geotaggen oder einfach Orte wiederzufinden die ich an einem bestimmten Tag gefunden habe. Das hat bisher super funktioniert. Auch die Datenschutzaussage des Entwicklers ist eine wohltuende Seltenheit. Warum also nur 3 Sterne? Leider sind allerdings alle meine bisher gesammelten Daten (mit dem letzten iOS Update??) verschwunden.
There's hope
This is my favorite Moves replacement so far. Unfortunately it accounted for 25% of my total battery usage. Way too high for an app that should just be pinging your location in the background. My phone get noticeable warm when the tracking is enabled. I uninstalled it for now but will keep waiting for a fix. Please include a power saving mode

Der Link auf die Datenschutzverordnung des Entwicklers funktioniert nicht. Das ist ein nogo. Datenschutz wird bei dieser App scheinbar nicht für wichtig genommen. Es ist nicht beschrieben, welche Daten erfasst werden und was mit diesen gemacht wird.
Miles please as well as KM
Need the option for miles as well as km.
Kein Export möglich
Ich nutze die App seit circa 3 Jahren und habe den zusätzlichen Akkuverbrauch von 10%in Kauf genommen. Mir den Clean Install meines iPhones sind alle meine Daten nun weg. Sehr schade für eine ansonsten perfekte App, doch dieses Detail macht die App im Ganzen sinnlos.
Funktioniert nur mit ständiger Internetverbindung
Es wird keine Aktivität aufgezeichnet, wenn keine Internetverbindung besteht. Wollte die Route meines Urlaubs tracken, habe dort aber kein mobiles Netz. Im Test Zuhause hat es (mit mobilem Netz) wunderbar funktioniert. Die Anwendung sollte die Geo-Daten aufzeichnen und beim nächsten WLAN mit Foursquare abgleichen anstatt nichts anzuzeigen.

Great tracking app for where have you been
Better than a simple tracking app without telling where i have been. And better than using Google map for privacy reason. The only issue after few days of using is how do i export and backup all my data?
Update Broke It
I have been using this app to track my daily walks for quite some time. I plan to walk all the streets within a 5 mile radius of my home. But 2-3 update ago, it stopped being able to refresh to import new walks that were recorded by apple’s workout app. The only way I can get new walks to show up is to 1) clear all cached data, 2) refresh activities (which always causes the app to crash if I’ve cleared the cache), 3) re-launch and then refresh activities once again. I have to do that every single day if I want to see that day’s walk. It used to work by simply choosing refresh activities, but something got broken in a recent update. I also find the night mode map to not have enough contrast. I can barely see the streets, especially the ones I have yet to walk. I wish there was a app-specific setting to disable night mode. Finally, I wish there was the standard compass needle icon that would zoom the map to my current location and display a dot to indicate where I am on the map. Sounds like it’s time for to to search for a better walk tracking app.

Eigentlich gut, aber durch den ständigen GPS Zugriff zieht es doch sehr am Akku. Solange das nicht besser wird, leider nur für die anderen Features (Fotolocations, Swarm, etc.) zu gebrauchen.

Stürzt beim Laden der Daten von Moves ab. Edit: Die Abstürze beim Laden scheinen mit der aktuellen Version behoben zu sein. Allerdings stürzt die App nun beim laden der entsprechenden Datumsbereiche für die Darstellung ab (kann ich halbwegs eingrenzen, da ich Moves seit ein paar Wochen aus Performancegründen nicht mehr tracken lasse). Trotzdem eine sehr spannende App. Schön die Daten mal aufbereitet zu sehen und die eigenen Bewegungen nachvollziehen zu können und zu erkennen was andere Apps für Daten aus verschiedensten Bewegungsdaten generieren können.

Kein Datenexport möglich
Ich würde die App gern nutzen um die Fotos meiner DSLR zu Tagen. Die App erlaubt aber keinen Datenexport. Daher für meinen Zweck unbrauchbar.

Seit den letzten 2 Updates, funktioniert die App nicht meh
Die Orte lassen sich beim 1 Update nicht mehr ändern, beim 2. Update vom 4.12.19 stürzt die App nach dem Starrt ab.
Excellent replacement for Moves app
Thanks! This is an excellent replacement for the now defunct Moves app. I have two suggestions: It would be good to be able to import and export json data other than from Moves so that I can consolidate all my data into the one app. It would also be useful to be able to access a particular past day’s data via a calendar system rather than having to manually swipe through many, many days’ worth of data. But these are relatively minor issues. Thanks so much for such a terrific tracking app!

Best replacement for Moves and more
I had used this app to map data from Moves app for quite a while. Developer was responsive to requests for features. When Facebook killed Moves app, Quantified Map was quickly updated to add collection and import of saved Moves app data. App has had a number of rapid updates to improve stability and capability Best replacement for Moves out there. Low cost of operation and easy to use. I have tried several others and they, plus their support, have disappointed and cost too much battery to run.
Grundsätzlich eine nette App, aber ......
Ich finde die Idee der App gut und auch die Visualisierung über die Karte ist sehr cool gemacht. Was aber gar nicht geht ist der Datenverlust beim Update. Endlich sind so viel Daten zusammengekommen das es langsam Spaß macht sich die Karte anzuschauen und mal ein wenig seinen Tag auszuwerten. Aber dann kommt ein Update der App, ich diese aufgespielt und was passiert ? ALLE Daten sind weg. Ich war super enttäuscht, habe mir aber gesagt sowas darf eigentlich nicht passieren, aber kein Programmierer ist fehlerfrei ;-). Also Daten wieder angefangen neu aufzuzeichnen. Gestern gab es dann wieder ein Update der App. Auch das habe ich mir draufgespiel weil es ein Problem beseitigen sollte was mich eh ziemlich genervt hat. Und was soll ich nun sagen ? Wieder ALLE Daten weg. Damit war es das für die App. Dritte Chance gibt es nicht, deinstalliert und nun bekommt die Konkurrenz ne Chance. Schade eigentlich.
Changed my life
This is the best app in the universe. It changed my whole life. Made me exercise more, see my wife and kids more, work harder at the office, eat healthier and send money to charity. I used to be shy, and now I'm bold. Ugly, and now I'm handsome. Poor, and now I'm rich. Can't recommend enough.
Lacking and tons of issues
Battery usage is terrible and that would be tolerable if app wasn’t completely inaccurate.
Needs a moves replacement
I was using this to get a cool visual of my moves data and will miss it now that moves is going offline. It's the best looking app and simplest to use in the category.
Import failure prompts concerns about scaling
Looks ( UI ) pretty nice however trying to import moves data it gets to the final stage and crash’s hard... This concerns me as I don’t want to use an app that has problems with a certain amount of data... Also unknown how the place names etc are generated in the timeline as this may leak personal data
