awful app
try to find a campsite on this app and you may go mad in the process slow and basically ruby
Glad it exists but it’s still . somewhat clunky
This is a very helpful app, packed with handy information. The downloads for offline usage is great. However a good enhancement would be to be able to search parks with multiple campgrounds by availability for all , instead of having to check each location individually and then each spot individually. Very time consuming.
Good App
When I’m out gives me good reference to photograph different parks landscapes.
Chris
I haven't used App for a while. Its not user friendly, not detailed enough to show the many more walks that exist on the central coast. It could be a life saver being lost in bush
App
Easy to use app
Needs more search options
This is a great app for exploring parks on a map but lacks filters for searches. It is impossible to find campgrounds by access types or by activities you want to do. Please add these to the search the same way it can be done on the website.
Just one thing to make it awesome
I love the app but there’s just one thing that stops me from using it 90% of the time when I otherwise would. If I’m looking for somewhere to camp I want to filter by more criteria - particularly whether fires are permitted. I’d use it all the time if I could filter with criteria such as coastal, shower, toilet, fire permitted. As it is, it’s easier to get on a computer and search park by park via the map.
Great app for hikes in NSW NPs
Really useful resource for hiking, with ability to download offline maps for free. Great app
Crashes on IPad
Grrr! I’ve just deleted the app because it just won’t open on my iPad and eventually crashes. I have the most recent version.
Search and map
Searching across different camp grounds for same dates would be handy. And being able to see camp map of site numbers from app without booking would be helpful too.
Needs more park updates
Tracks which are closed don’t show as closed on the app. Not all NP tracks appear here and the Alerts page takes you to all alerts for NSW not to the ones specifically for the park you are enquiring about. Eg. where is the info for Fairy Bower Falls walking track? Rusden Head? Florence Head? Gerringong Falls? Etc.
Could be great
My version doesn’t show road names , track names or even names of towns on it , makes it a bit hard to plan a trip. Do the people making the app actually use it ?
I use it for the maps when hiking
Great app in general but frustrating that it spends time and battery trying to connect to internet when in the middle of nowhere without network. If the downloaded maps can be quickly accessible without connection it would be a great improvement.
Too small
When will there be an iPad version
Mid age hiker
Very helpful information. The guide and alert section has been very useful specially after bad weathers.
Offline feature useless
TLDR: the app is nice, the offline map doesn’t work so wouldn’t rely on it. 4/10 I downloaded this app before our hike for the offline map feature. During our hike we were in SOS mode but thankfully had the app downloaded with the corresponding map. At my consternation when opening the map it said it was offline despite the fact that I had downloaded it priori. This rendered the app useless and would suggest to anyone to just screenshot the map when you are online.
Site update required
National Parks and Wildlife NSW app & website are great if you are happy to work with 1990 style websites that are clunky with poor graphics & difficult navigation. You can find wonderful campsites & walking trails with breathtaking vistas, you can get up close to nature and all of her beautiful flora & fauna. They give you that opportunity & it’s affordable as it should be because it belongs to all of us BUT the site itself is not for the easily frustrated computer amateur and even the tech savvy among us will be frustrated by the poor display & design of this website
A great app
It’s so good to have an app from the National Parks.great for finding hiking trails.
Time to invest in a better app
Extremely cumbersome app
Great App
Very easy to use. It would be great to be able to down load all parks or at least a hole region at a time by clicking the one download button, as opposed to only having the option to download each park individually. Thanks
The map function never works for me
Just a grey screen. Been happening for months on different devices.
Discover
Helps me discover lots of walks.
Pretty Useless
Wow worse than the web site…
Solid App - Great Info!
Easy to use and guide through. Big fan of the app. Would be awesome and have 5 stars if you added a check mark function to show what you have done, maybe next to the favourites heart to help you keep track of all the walks you've completed. Will also give me extra motivation to finish them all. 🙃
Decent app but Kosciuszko offline maps useless
Downloaded this app to explore local parks. Turns out that while most offline maps work and online functionality work; Kosciuszko online and offline maps do not. I’ve tried uninstalling and reinstalling but this doesn’t work. Only ever got the “maps” tab working once, don’t know how or why. There is some fantastic info and tips in the app; but the fact that I can’t get maps for the biggest national park in NSW is very concerning. I hope you do fix this ASAP.
National Park App
Brilliant App and so helpful
Inept
National Parks😂😂what a joke over half the country in locked out of our Park areas while we are heard up like sheep camping on top of each other. The App says parks full when arriving parks are empty. Best of making a phone call to book camp ground. It’s all about $$$. I’d give it a zero if I could.
Don’t you like the ACT and Booderee.
No search results for Booderee and you manage it! The map is next to useless. If this is and example of your maps, I will stick to Guru Maps, Wikicamps, CMCA or Camps Australia.. It even names Green Patch as Greenfield, my god, you checks your maps for you??? Nothing else is listed on the Jervis Bay Area??? no tracks, no beachs!!!! The description about leaving a trip description and plan has a highlighted text, leave a plan, or something, but no link! Where does one leave a walking plan? The App needs some work!
Great App
This is a great app from NSW Parks, I’m a proud Victorian, but Parks Victoria should be taking notes. I use this over AllTrails whenever I’m hiking in NSW. Almost makes the park entry fees worth it, good work NPWS!
Changes not for the better
The old booking system was so much better. Without being able to select a site you have no guarantee of being next to friends. Such a shame.
Not working
I have the latest updates and can’t view any map. Downloaded or otherwise.
NSW Parks App
Just brilliant, every state should have an app like this. Keep building and improving on this app, kudos to all involved with its creation. Well done 👍👍👍👍👍
Will no work
It might be a useful app if it worked on an iPhone or iPad running latest iOS
More Filters
Looks great. Need filters for camping. Caravans, camper trailers, tents or walk in. Grading of walks would be good. Maybe it is there but haven’t found it.
Taking ages to load the Ap
I absolutely love National parks and wildlife ap it is so informative and has never not promised something at a campground that it hasn’t delivered. But lately it is taking ages to load onto my phone .. Not a phone problem as it’s a latest version iPhone just wondering if it’s something that needs a look at . Keep up the amazing work NPWS I have had an awesome time camping and exploring all the areas up to now .
Map not helpful
Bring back the old version. You could select shower, toilet etc for campgrounds & it would select your preferences, also had a map that was useful. The maps on this app is near useless, very hard to work out locations. I tried to contact National Parks, there was no one to speak with. Frustrating.
