It didn't take long to figure out the basics and it does have a very polished look and feel.

Great app
I love the app I just wish it had sound.
Not enough depth
Limit of 10 moves even for premium is pretty dumb. There’s opening theory that extends way deeper, and it would be nice to be able to practice the main lines. The move limit seems like a pretty artificial restriction; I can’t imagine that expanding the move limit would hard feature to implement.
Great for building and reviewing repertoires
When I hit 1900, I needed to synthesize my openings. I tried many apps and tools, but I found that those apps and tools just showed me the book and repeatedly quizzed me on which moves are right and wrong. On the other hand, King’s Cross has all of these features, it holds more moves than my other apps (which only held 100 moves on the free plan), and it is easy to replace moves on the smooth interface. The best thing about this app is that you can annotate the moves, and you can add multiple repertoires, so you can keep your moves separate (like a blitz repertoire and a classical repertoire). Thanks!
Loaded with adverts
This could be a really great app, but it’s loaded with adverts.
Would be a 5+ star program, if ...
. . . if it were not so enormously overpriced. At $10 or even $15 I would purchase in a heartbeat, but no way would I pay the current subscription price.

Best opening trainer
My favorite opening trainer. Recommend. Only negative is I wish it had sound for the moves otherwise perfect.
Awesome app, but...
First the positives, it’s great app and very usable. It looks great and I love using it. Definitely helps learn the intricacies of openings. There are no ‘pre-programmed’ openings included that I could see, but to me that’s a good thing. Making the moves from the basics all the way through will help memory. Please can this be a one of price? Subscribing for something that once is finished and stable as this app and therefore wont get all that many new features hardly justifies another monthly bill. Three months sub ($20), and going by other app prices, would be a very fair price as a one off. Beyond that, what are we paying for? Also, please use Apple iCloud for syncing. What do you want my email address for?
Genau was ich gesucht habe... aber nicht zu dem Preis
Eigentlich eine gute Idee schön umgesetzt, aber wie ich finde passt die Idee nicht mit dem Bezahlmodell zusammen.... wirklich schade, denn ich würde gerne eine Vollversion kaufen, aber nicht ein Eröffnungsbuch, dass ich selbst erstelle, monatlich mieten...
Great app
According to my phone’s usage data I use this more than any other app. I have put in all my openings and it is a great way to drill them when I have a five minute break. I’ve also put in my repertoire against each of my frequent opponents. This is useful for tournaments when I only find out who I’m playing 30 minutes ahead of time. There is NO limit on depth (one review stated this incorrectly)
Gut gemachte App!
Eröffnungstraining für unterwegs, ich finde gut gemacht und würde sie auch gerne richtig nutzen, aber als Abo auch in der Jahresversion auf Dauer viel zu teuer. Zu einem einmaligen Betrag, so 10 €, hätte Ich mir eine Vollversion zugelegt. Ist leider große Mode geworden den Appnutzer dauerhaft abzukassieren! Schade, werde sie wieder löschen👎
Amazons but too expansive
This App have everything to train an opening. I Would certainly buy it if it was possible even for 30chf. But the suscription is too expansive at least for me. But that issue aside, it is Great.

I’m not going premium. Useless app if you can only have 3 openings
Great app, BUT SHOULD HAVE A SET PRICE
This app is great and would get 5 stars if it didn’t have a subscription. $40 dollar a year is an outrageous price for an app that only serves a purpose once in a while. If I build my repertoire on this app, I have to keep up my subscription. I’ll stick with ChessTrainer, one time fee. Consider making it a one time fee and I will buy plus give it 5 stars.
Everything you are looking for.
This app is all I wanted when looking for a way to memorize my openings. Don’t go and price gauge us after we’re hooked! Great job!
Limited without EXPENSIVE subscription
An annual subscription is $40! If you expect to still be playing Chess in a decade, and you think that you will still be using this app, that’s $400! Without the subscription you are limited to 3 files. You could do your White rep, your Black rep and 1 new line that you are experimenting with. This might work well for many people. What I want is a file for the Sicilian, a separate file for the French and so on. (Full Disclosures: I really dislike subscription software!) If not for the limitation and the cost of the subscription, the program would get 5 stars. If I could buy it for $20 or $30, I would buy it and give it 5 stars. With the price of the subscription, and the limits on the program without buying a subscription, I will keep using Splashtop and a windows based program that I have been using for years.
Best opening App
Easy to forget how good this app is. They recently dropped the ridiculous price and out a reasonable annual fee. Want a good 5 star opening app. Its right here.
An indispensable tool for opening study
I paid for an annual subscription ($13, I think) and I use this app every day. It’s the best I’ve found for drilling opening lines. I’m better booked up than my opponents who use Chessable. I maintain my openings in a Lichess study and import the PGN to the app, but you don’t have to do that, you can just select lines in the app.
Amazing
This app is a must have for all serious chess players. I have it on my iPad and my iPhone and I'm using it daily:)
King's Cross rocks!
King's Cross is exactly what I was looking for. For a long time I have used Chess Position Trainer on my Windows laptop, but I wanted something on my phone and iPad that I could train with in idle moments. This app is perfect, just what I had hoped for. So far I have loaded only one opening from my repertoire (several variations; 200+ moves), and I have trained on the app for only a couple of weeks. Beautiful. I am looking forward to giving it a whirl soon with some of the more complex openings in my repertoire.
