Progress Report
It is always great to be acknowledged for one’s efforts. Also having little goals is a great idea to stimulate further progress. Putting to work the safe and defensive skills in place and building on to them. The result..your program makes the streets and highways safer.
Beware Unfair Events
The “Time of Day Events,” kills me every day. I have to be at work at 6am and leave around 7pm. The app believes everyone works a typical 9-5 work schedule for what whatever reason. So twice a day, I’m penalized for going to work and coming home. Nothing I can do besides watch my overall performance plummet for free. Also the “Hard Braking,” meter isn’t accurate. It goes up and down, up and down like a roller coaster. The crazy part is that I can’t remember the last time I hard braked. I drive as safe as possible and always stay around 5 car distances between the next car, and I start slowing down and braking around 5 seconds before I take my turn. The app still believes I’m hard braking consistently.
Drive
App doesn’t record every drive for some reason.
Data is off
This app has discrepancies which makes me question is validity. First of all. They’re being a 6 mile discrepancy each morning for me between my house and I stop. I make every morning on my way to work. The second thing I noticed is it says an event however when you click on the map, there’s no Red dots to indicate any kind of event. So I’m sure that’s affecting my driving score somehow. Lastly, for example, yesterday I was driving home and didn’t look at my phone once and it said I had multiple distractions and I’m assuming that with notifications coming in that I took that as distractions, even though I didn’t look at my phone.
Not accurate
you drive a car to work at 8:30am and the app considers it is a negative thing. Ridiculous
Easy to understand & use!
Helps me be a more aware driver!
Worst app
I was on a river 1,000 miles from my home address and they counted each trip I took on a literal boat then said I couldn’t edit those “drives” because it was beyond the tiny little 10 day window they give you to make edits. Sorry I’m not 100% focused on this stupid app while I’m away from my car and on vacation….
It’s pretty smart but still needs a bit of work
It is better than the app from Progressive which was taking my subway rides or even my bike rides as car drives. The subway accelerates and stops abruptly sometimes and it was counting those towards drives. It seemed a lot to go into app and correct it every time. This app from travelers is better but still miscounts trips. Also gave me hard acceleration when I wasn’t really accelerating that hard.
App is fine, metrics are trash
The app tracks my driving and shows perfect scores across all metrics for 30 days straight—except “time of day,” which keeps saying “needs improvement.” I can’t tell what schedule it expects me to follow. One weekday at 6:52 p.m. it flags an event, but the next weekday at 7:06 p.m. it doesn’t. Whatever dynamic system the developers are using to judge this is inconsistent and meaningless.
Good Idea
The app stems from a good idea to help people drive safer. It works really well on ICE vehicles. But this app does not agree with autonomous EVs or regenerative braking. The app misinterprets regenerative braking for hard braking. Or when the EV is safely self-driving and you touch your phone for anything, change a playlist or open a podcast, it penalizes you. It is a self-driving vehicle but the app doesn’t take it into account. Good starting point but needs improvement with modern vehicles.
Not what I thought
I read a lot of bad stuff. I was expecting to be dinged on every little thing. Other than time of day, I’m doing way better than I expected. It seems fair on stopping and starting. It has not hit me for an occasional screen tap (I don’t pickup the phone). I hear time of day doesn’t count a lot, but there is really nothing I can do about that.
Won’t even work
Background app refresh button won’t toggle on/off. Can’t get past that screen to even set up the app. Deleted and reinstalled multiple times.
Overall Ok…
Well I switched car insurance to Travelers…so far it’s ok. I installed this app. I find it ridiculous that you get dinged for traveling at a certain time of the day. Unfortunately that’s how my work schedule is. I work 6AM to 6PM…my commute is long. Maybe think about changing that…pretty it’s ridiculous. I’m going to restrict my info and access to this app…
Horrible, inaccurate, violation of my privacy
I am extremely over this app. It’s inaccurate, it doesn’t know if I’m driving or someone else is driving. Hard breaking- yea someone cut my off, it also says I speed up too fast? Yes I’m on a highway. How else would you like me to get on? If my 10 years of being accident free isn’t enough travelers. I’ll take my business elsewhere. This should be illegal.
Travelers IntelliDrive
Inaccurate reporting of events even after short drives or traveling distances. False reporting. If you are reporting a incident it needs to be define and allow us to reply. You falsely claim I accelerated to rapidly which false . I am 75 and do not race away from a stop. I use my cruise control to maintain a safe legal speed & distance from others. I also it for the best fuel economy. Please re work your system to make it more Useful.
Review of this app
I’m really impressed!!
Doesn’t work
This app doesn’t work WT
Time of event
It’s very strict on the time that you drive. Before 9am it’s consider a risk and after 5p too. Most drivers have to be at work before and after that time!
Not working well
Every day I get that« distraction » just because my daughter watch a movie or play with my phone while am driving. That’s nonsense
Time of day
You get penalized for driving anytime before 9am and after 5pm. So if you drive to/from work you get penalized. Otherwise it’s easy to keep a perfect score for everything else
A Driving Tool for Everyone
I have been encouraged by the driving scores thus far and this motivates one to take driving safely even more.
Horrible
This app doesn’t proceed past the settings page for me despite all the proper settings applied. I was required to download for a rate but will just switch back to progressive.
Questions about infractions
I do not mind the app. But when you check your status and if there is a noted infraction the app. Should post what you did so you can correct it.I have experienced infractions not knowing what I did.Making it impossible to correct
This App Has A Lot Of Flaws
This app dings you for any little thing. I work as a bartender and constantly get dinged for driving late when I cannot control that. I also get dinged for driving in the morning to my college classes. I go to school in Lubbock and there is honestly barely any traffic, but I am getting dinged for driving in “rush hour traffic”. When going through a drive thru I get dinged for using my phone to pay. There is no way to explain any of the actions. You can just go in and say you were not the driver, but that is dishonest and also removes those miles from your record. When driving on the highway I will set my speed control to 75 which is the speed limit, but I then get dinged for high speed. The app also dinged me for when my friend was driving on a long trip and I was on my phone. I was not driving and even after pressing that I was the passenger, the event still led to my score being lowered. This app needs to be worked on further and have some of these flaws fixed. The app is relatively easy to use which is why I even gave it the 2 stars.
Okay could be better
Overall I know what the app wants and what it’s looking for according to drive habits. However dings you for every little thing. Distracted driving counts if you get an incoming call and it goes to car phone. If you interact with it at all (even to ignore the call) that’s a ding. Speed, don’t go 70 or above at all or it will ding you. Hard breaking, it dings you for slowing down too quickly. That includes avoiding the person who cut you off or the quick light the switches. The time of day ding isn’t a big impact on your score. Also it yells at you for not driving enough… I usually drive where I need to and then walk or bike anywhere else. So why is the app warning me that if I don’t start driving I’m gonna loose my benefits of having the app? Over all the app could be worse and it could be better so it gets a generous 3/5 from me.
Great Product
This product will show the good driver how good they are, regardless of driver’s age. It also shows some drivers they need improvement regardless of driver’s age.
Don’t use this app!!!
This is a scam to get you to buy their insurance with the claim you save up to 30% on renewal. They set you up to fail. They refuse to tell you what times cause a penalty but includes commuting hours. Learned it includes 4-7 pm even if you drive in a residential neighborhood one mile away. Starts at 7:00am but not sure when it ends (likely 3 hours like pm). Includes late at night but they won’t tell you hours. If your phone accidentally slips it counts as distracted driving. You have 90 days to drive 500 miles without violations. Good luck! Customer service is horrendous.
Hard Breaking
There are more times that “hard breaking” happens due to being cut off by another driver coming onto the road or into the lane I’m driving on than because I’m driving too close to the vehicle in front of me. I don’t normally drive so close to other vehicles that I need to break hard, but I lost points for this reason. Also, why does the time I drive “Need Improvement” when I’m driving to work the same time every day of the week and don’t have a choice? Perhaps there should be a short survey on the app asking for details about that before the 90 days begins and it works against the driver. Other than that, I felt as though I was driving with my father in the car watching every move I made! :D
Useless Trash
This app is utterly useless. Every single day on my commute to and from work, I get a Time of Day event. I leave home at 7:40am and return home at 4pm. In WHAT WORLD are these terrible times to commute? It flags me anytime I drive before 9am or anytime after 2pm. How are you even supposed to keep a perfect score when they don't even take your commute to work/home into consideration? Do they expect you to alter your work hours? Please make it make sense.
Good app
The only problem, if you are not a driver, there are a lots of steps to upload this information post factor. It should be on one click once you are not a driver. . Most of the the time , I simply forget to go back to app and make an adjustment.
Love this appp
Every insurance company should have this app
Inaccurate and invasive
Not worth it. Provides extremely inaccurate driving data with many unspecified “events” regardless of driving habits.
Mileage counted
I don’t think it captures all of my drives correctly. On Sunday 2/23 we drove from home. to Water Place in Lakewood Ranch and back. I got credit for 2 Miles. The diagram showed a direct line ( as the crow flies) There is no way that drive was only 2 miles. We googled the trip. It showed 10 miles one way. ???
Doesn't work when ridesharing
I was in an uber and on the subway and it recorded me as the driver and lowered my drive score. Even when I reported them as a passenger ride not a driver my rating still remains negative.
Pretty accurate but…
I take a LOT of Uber’s bc I live in the city. I actually didn’t realize you could mark rides as “passenger” for the first couple days so I was very stressed. Worth making sure people know about it. Also not sure what my savings are going to be yet lmfso- I’ll update when I find out.
Good Feedback
As much as i hate to admit it, the app gives you valuable feedback to improve your driving.
Significantly under counts miles
Most of my driving is local, within 3-5 miles from home. It takes the app 1-3 miles to recognize that I’m driving so many trips aren’t counted at all,and others are shorted on the mileage. I’m nowhere near on track to reach 500 miles in 90 days because the app is flawed. If Travelers raises my premium, we will have a very short relationship.
Greg
Good app to help develop good driving habits. However, not sure it’s always accurate, especially in rural Alabama. Between either avoiding potholes, hitting potholes because of oncoming traffic, or avoiding wild animals on road, especially skunks, not sure the app is correctly assessing the driving conditions.
Nissan rouge
Love the tracking… very helpful
Very Frustrating App
We are in the middle of our 90 day period and we dislike this app with a passion. If travelers increases our rate by even a single $1 we will be switching companies. My husband and I are excellent drivers and we get dinged for existing. Dropping our child off at school is an event. Picking her up is an event. Stopping at a red light to avoid hitting the person in front of you is an event. Driving on the highway is an event. Breathing is an event.
Not bad but it has flaws
I got “event/distarction” for using my phone at the drive through to pay for my food. That’s not distracting when I am parked at the windows drive through in order to use the pay function in my phone.
Easy app
A piece of cake. Anyone can master driving safely.
Causes more good than bad - I have been driving for 30 years -
We had this app dangled to us to provide lower premiums. So far we are half way through the requires days and realize that is app causes more anxiety and fear while driving than good. You are more worried about pleasing the app vs just driving. Negatives : speed limits don’t match to real limits so you will always have an alert , you get dinged if you drive at 530 pm? How the heck are you supposed to get home from work ? One acceleration cause you are done - Positive - distraction component for texting
Inc speed - hard breaking
On roads where you need to pass people, and on entrance ramps to go with the flow of traffic. Also if you are in the beginning of a green turned yellow light. It makes you go faster to get through it. Hard breaking sometimes can’t be helped when the car in front of you stops at an intersection where we don’t have a stop sign but cross traffic does.
