Love it
When I first ordered my 1st pair of lights was hesitant and didn’t think they would last long now it is 2026 and lights I got still are working just today received my second set for my Office now, I have them in my office and in bedroom and would you not said still working with no issues best LED rgb lights I ever got since then even App got upgraded absolutely love this brand and company. Hope my second set of right less just as long. If not longer.
Absolutely Terrible design
Disconnects once a week, fast flashing lights in my eyes every single time it cuts out and it hurts my eyes so much . Absolutely god awful. Only reason I bought them was cause I didn’t expect him to be so goddamn terrible I have three LED lights from other companies and this one is by far the worst
Mostly good
It’s mostly good, awesome in the beginning but after having it for a couple of years, not sure if its that or if it’s something else but it’s starting to be a bit of a pain. It’ll always catch vehicle driving by in the background but it won’t always catch movements near home, particularly when people are helping themselves to our stuff. One of them has also stopped saving recordings so I am unable to backtrack in the memory, although it does still show live feeds.

My geeni won’t work anymore just keeps shutting down every time I try to open it .
Went downhill after upgrade
Fairly easy to set up and was pretty user-friendly app until recent update (2026) to the app which puts ads up and moved access to your camera views. I was going to buy more cameras, but I think I will try another brand.
No Roomate Needed
This little camera is the roommate I didn’t know I needed. It watches the door, texts me when something moves, and doesn’t eat my leftovers. Night vision is decent, setup was easy, and it hasn’t given me a heart attack with fake alerts… much. 10/10 would let it spy on my porch again.

I’ve been having issues to pair my doorbell camera to the app and every time they want me to look at something and I don’t instantaneously message them back the chat they just end it. Happened three times in one day. Last one wanted me to record a 20 second video of what was going on. While recording because I have to record with my phone and I’m doing all the chat on my PC. I guess three minutes was just too long for them. So they dropped it. Just buy a new product don’t deal with the hassle of their customer support.
Picture Quality Poor
Sometimes even when I just format the sd card the camera quality when zooming in mostly makes everything a blob. I’ve tried splitting the bands on network, moving the cameras closer to router. And then when the ir is on it’s not even worth looking at cause it will be so delayed and cut up you can’t even see a person walk by if they were too. If they’re running the camera won’t catch them at all and the most thing I don’t like about these night hawk 2’s I have even though I originally ordered the night hawk 3’s but never could get anyone to move forward on swapping them, the sound won’t play at all unless a sound is detected. Can’t just listen and watch. And I also purchased the doorbell but the charger port got damaged when a woodpecker grabbed the doorbell geeni device after pecking on it enough to beak and carry off then dropped by the charger port broke when the bastard did it It worked better than any of the indoor or outdoor cameras I’ve ever had by geeni/ Merkury. But camera sometimes works great and even though it erases over the end of the available Storage, you have to still format and erase all recordings for a better quality picture day time. If you buy the cheap little cameras that are in door and put them up under your roofing facet, they stay dry and I swear will work just as good as these big noticeable cameras. Anyone that sees one that might be trying to steal something might go onto the next house when they see a red light at night but due to night quality with ir night vision being so poor unless a bright moonlit night but app works great
Great sound quality
My geeni has super sonic sound on it, it’s crazy the sounds it picks up. Good picture quality for the most part. Only thing I don’t like is it freezes a lot and gets very glitchy at times. But other than that it’s a great camera overall.
New App Update Is Awful
This new update is terrible!! The app has a horrible layout with these silly tiles now. Things worked just fine before. Also now the connectivity is messed up. My lights keep coming unsynced. And then when I try to sync them the app fights me. I can’t even open the app on one of my phones anymore. Anytime I try to open the app it just crashes. Who made the choice to do a half-assed update? I’ve got Govee products as well and they, along with their app, work great. What’s your excuse, Geeni?
Great Equipment and Great App!
I wanted to Smarten up my house for awhile. I was deterred by the Price. I looked on Walmart.com and saw the Merkury Smart Plug. I bought just try it out and was pleasantly surprised. I looked on Amazon and other products too. I’m recommending this to everyone. The App is super simple to use. You have me hooked! So after the latest update. The widget and app status doesn’t match as to what the App says are on and off. Please address this issue. The App is still not matching the Widget and a the Apple Watch APP kills Battery Life in a matter of hours. Do Not Install On Your Apple Watch!!
Click to run shortcut/scene take 3 clicks???
Geez I thought it was pretty dumb before when I clicked the shortcut and it ran the automation but still had to click Ok (in a pop up) to return to the app. But with latest update I have to click the shortcut, click confirm (which makes it run), and then still click the Ok pop up to return to the app. I might as well not create a shortcut if I have to click three things now. Do developers not know why their customers want to make shortcuts? It’s literally so we can do things with fewer clicks. But other than that the app runs fine and is mostly intuitive.
Why change the list?
After the upgrade, there is no list of devices - instead it’s a bunch of tiles/cards. This makes it more difficult to find what you want, especially if you’re trying to turn things on and off in the middle of the night. Why is there no option for the user to change the view back to list?

You pay for the equipment
I think it’s a little ridiculous that you can spend hundreds of dollars on the camera equipment to setup but in order to use the app you have to tolerate ads! This should be an ad free app considering the costs you already pay for the equipment. I will not be adding additional equipment, I would rather upgrade to Apple HomeKit supported cameras and use the home app for control rather than a 3rd party app that’s just going to make you pay for equipment but show you annoying ads in their app!
Great controls
Really cool and easy to setup switches and light controls ect But the app needs serious work. It’s could be so much easier. When you buy a new device you should be able to just drop it into a room like outside lights and your done. The on settings and off setting are way to complicated for what should be a simple setup Dusk and dawn are very muddy to setup The app needs a serious redesign Every time I buy another switch I dread setting it up
App Version Update 08-2026
The app was simple but it worked just fine. After this last update things just don’t work as they did. I spent over 45 min trying to add a new camera to no prevail. I use this app on a iPhone 14 and on a older iPhone 8. The app well not launch on the iPhone 8 now. According to the App Store it’s completely compatible with my iPhone8 and with the current ISO. Please offer us users a patch update.

New Update Broke Phone Compatibility
Despite running an OS that should work with this update, app will not function at all. Been going back and forth with “Support” for over a week with zero resolution. Cameras are effectively useless to me right now.

You could change the play back speed. when you get an alert it would be helpful if the link took you to that part of the playback…it’s pretty annoying that when you select view it just brings you to the live stream so you have to scroll through the entire day to see a video of what happened 30 seconds ago

Update Woes
The most recent update V5.0.0 has made it to where many users myself included are incapable of using the Geeni app at all on our older devices, in my case an iPad Air 2. I get making changes to make improvements but when those “improvements” outright restrict your customers ability to use your product that’s a serious problem. Please rectify this issue quickly.

Loved the old, not the new
After the last update we really don’t like the layout. It went from simple to more complicated. Never a good way to make customers happy.

Originally this app didn’t require an account. It just worked without it. Sadly that has changed. I know all the other smart bulbs are the same now. So maybe my complaint is a me thing. I paid money for the lights, I should own it. I should not have to give out my email to use them.

New update is terrible
What a mistake to remove the straightforward timeline viewer for recorded SD card content! It’s now replaced with a wonky individual notification system that makes you open every message to see bird recordings. Who thought this was a good idea? You obviously didn’t ask your customers before doing this. Bring back the old viewer!

Changing WiFi is impossible and there are no clear instructions for doing this
Pretty good but lacks customization
You can’t fully customize any light settings except for the still colours. You can change the colour on some of the presets (though this setting is weirdly hidden) but you’re locked into the brightness, rhythm, and number of colours that come with the few presets you can select from. It really needs an option to pick a few colours and have smoother transitions. Being able to decide how long each colour lasts would be nice as well. Would love for it to fade between colours rather than have a rigid switch between them.

Crashes after update!
The Geeni app has not worked since the latest update on my ipad mini. It opens and immediately crashes. I tried removing and reinstalling the app, and it still crashes. My other devices are fine, it seems to only be a problem with geeni on the ipad mini. PLEASE FIX GEENI FOR THE IPAD MINI!
How do you make custom scenes
The app is great although I cannot seem to create custom scenes where they change colour. There is only the colour temp option, no colour option. (This is for the LED lights)
What a process
I don’t have 2.4ghz wifi so I have to use my laptop as a hotspot every time I need to connect it, and it takes a couple minutes to download the bulb to the app even though sometimes right before it finishes it fails. And now I need and account with a password and everything just to turn on the light? What a pain.

Far superior than more expensive competition
I recently bought two Geeni security camera, they are far superior to the others I have by others companies, the quality is much better and they have more functions, picture qualities doesn’t even compare...

How can I get the bigger icons back for the various connected devices I have on this app? I hate the smaller size since the last update.

Missing/hard to find options
I actually really like using these plugs… great for fans & phone chargers (where you can schedule it to turn on/off at specific times while sleeping so its not constantly charging - especially for older phones - i use the iPhone 12 still.. that phone doesn’t have the built int CHARGING LIMITER like newer ones…, BUT Where is the option to delete LOGS from ones phone? All this collected data is just sitting in the phone for no reason…. How do we delete it? Why is there no option to toggle it on/off OR for it to automatically delete after a set amount of time?

Latest App Update Does Not Work
Since you upgraded the app it doesn’t work. I can’t control bulb color or brightness. All I can do is turn the bulb on & off. Please can you fix it? Thanks!
Stopped working
Apparently version 5 came out recently. Stopped working on one IPad Mini and changed the configuration on all of my other devices. Not happy!

Fix Connect device
I dont know how or why you guys changed the way you add or re add devices because i used to be able to add and connect multiple lights successfully in a minute, but now it takes over a minute each and then they repeatedly fail to connect. the saying "if it aint broke, dont fix it" doesnt exist for nothing. bc now it is broken. so please go back to the old way you would add and connect devices.
