What people like
- Great for understanding light and shading
- Easy to use with no ads
- Helps fix values in artwork
What they complain about
- App adds a watermark to your prints
- Images appear completely white on Mac
- Sidebar blocks controls and image interaction
Great app for converting images to posterized version.
I use this app to convert photographs to a posterized version for using with gel printing.
WHAT is the Deal???
None of the controls work like open, copy, paste, select all. You can drag, drop and print and the levels work.
Great but one change would improve it
The improvement would be when accessing Photos for it to retain the position of rhe accessed picture so that one didn’t have to scroll all the way through to the same position when accessing a new photo from the same batch.
Why?
I paid for this app, why are you stamping your watermark on my prints?
macOS - Opening sidebar overlays slider controls and prevents their use
The sidebar is acting as a blocking dialog box, preventing interaction with the rest of the app while open. It overlays the slider and increment controls, and the image if the dimensions allow it. The sidebar should function independantly and the image and slider should be resized to fit wile remaining operable. A useful app all the same, helping me to visualise my underpainting.
Yes
i don’t use it to paint (necessarily) i just dig the images it creates. Bravo!
How do i remove app
How do I remove this app from my apps? I do not want to pay a monthly fee for this. There’s no way to remove it. Please let me know.
Update issues
I like this app a lot, I use it all the time to adjust the values in my paintings. Since the last update however I have lost the ability to export images. When I try to export the app crashes on my iPad. On my iPhone when I try to export the export to photos option just doesn’t come up. Please fix. My work around for now is to take a screen shot to save the adjusted image and just crop to the image itself.
Limited Features
I really wish there were a way to save a NAMED file to my mac. The only current option I see is to save it to the Apple Photos app with a predefined name. Saving your image in the folder of your choice seems like an essential feature that should be there. I should not have to do multiple steps to get one image to my chosen location.
Simple and brilliant
I take many art classes and they always recommend this app, so you had to something right.
notan nowork on mac
I downloaded to my mac and images would just come out white.
Waste of $2
Almost any free photo or drawing app can do this — usually better. That’s why there is no try before you buy feature.
Great Artist Utility App
Love that it just works and there are no micro transactions. Easy to use interface. whats the deal with that sound effect? seems like there could be a better way to indicate that level limit has been reached.
Totally disappointing
Worked fine on my iPad Air for 30 days. Then one day it would not open. Such a rip off.
Great for artists
So easy to use and so helpful.
Total Rip Off
I can't believe I paid $1.99 for this horribly rudimentary, pointless app. This should be free for the first use and then charge people if they find a use for a slider that takes decent pictures from bad to unrecognizable. Maybe there is some use for this out in the world but for art and more specifically Notan, no. A resounding, definitive no.
Fantastic Tool
As a Lino block artist the NotanIzer is a wonderful tool to help analyze and understand lighting and shading.
Must have app
I’m an artist. Have been all my life. Recently I have started painting. I paint things that fuel my passion. If you paint Notanizer is a must have app. You can take any photo and let Notanizer do its thing and your imagination is endless. Give it a try.
Plan and analyze your paintings
Such a great tool for seeing shapes and values first. And for identifying why your painting is not coming across as exciting as your subject.
art tool for notan
artists you know how important it is to get values right. this app lets you create a symphony of values and get good values-think.
Notan love
Love this app. It helps me with all of my artwork as I play with the possibilities! Thanks!!!!!
