Ambient sound control
Doesn’t work setting my earbuds to have haptic control adjust between ambient mode, ANC, and ANC off. when I try to make a custom setting for the earbuds to just switch between ambient mode and ANC off mode, it’ll work for maybe a day or a few hours, but it ends up going back to ANC on and ANC off every time I use the haptic control instead of ANC off and ambient mode, which is the way I want it.
Speak-to-Chat always turns back on by itself
Hello, this has been an ongoing issue for over a year on the M5s. Using the app to turn off the speech to chat function, it just periodically turns itself back on. I have had to go into the options and turn it off at least a dozen times. Maybe it does it with the app updates, or on its own. I don’t know. But I don’t know any other application that resets an option constantly. Please fix. iPhone is 17 Pro. Running latest operating system as of this post. Problem has been consistent across multiple operating systems.
Fine but needy
Mostly OK but it just kept asking me to do this so here's your review, I don't wanna see pop-ups when I'm trying to adjust my headphones. It's OK. I'm just happy to be able to use the headphones and it's a bummer that I can't adjust them as much on the headphone itself and that I have to use an app at all.
Amazing app
The ability to have so many options and tuning frequencies is absolutely incredible not only. Can you pretty much tweak any frequency but there’s tons of other options for these headphones. I love this app and it runs beautifully.
Hard to use
The headphones cancel out the app settings so the app is pretty useless For instance, if I turn off the noise canceling in the app, just turns itself back on on the headphones

This is to express my gratitude for the developers team. Especially the dual connection mode that enables the earphones seamlessly switching between devices without having any problems. This great feature allowed me to use this app at ease. So, i will be damned if i don’t give feedback. Thumbs up Sony!!
Rubbish
I have been so disappointed with my Sony ear buds and this app Sony sound connect is a complete waste of time. I can’t access it even though the ear buds are connected. The earbuds cut out periodically. People can’t hear me with the microphone. You name it, it doesn’t work or it works for 2 minutes, then cuts out. The app does things automatically which I didn’t ask it to do. It switches between ambient and noise cancelling . Just had enough of it all !

Great sound, easy to use, doubles as ear protection when I’m cutting grass.
Made perfectly functional headphones unusable
After the all updates a lot of settings were changed. These settings were very different like speak to listen being turned with no way to turn it off. When connecting to the app it refused to work, it pairs and then asks to connect an accessory and never goes further. The previous app should still be available or this brand of headphones should be avoided if they break existing and new products at whim.

I have to reinstall and set up the app and my earbuds every week or two due to it simply not recognizing my pair of WF-C510s. Even if I play music or tap the button on the earbuds themselves it still does not recognize them. Please fix this issue.

Great app with tons of control. The EQ really lets me dial in my WH-1000XM6 exactly how I like them—deep bass, clean vocals, and crisp highs. Sony knocked it out of the park. 🔥🎧
Don’t do latest update - and ignore the request to download the PAY-ONLY Speaker Headphones Connect
I received a message via Sony Sound Connect to update the software on my WH-1000MX5 headphones. At the end, Sony Sound Connect urged me to download Speaker Headphones Connect - a useless and redundant app. That dumb app requires payment to work despite being labeled as free in the App Store and I am now annoyed that this will probably have been the sole reason for this update. I’m adding a review here of 1 star and am warning others. Sony’s out here turning us upside down and shaking us until every penny drops out of our pockets! It turns out Sony may have left in mention of the old app and some ruthless dev swooped in and used that same name for their own app. Either way, I blame Sony for leaving old references in their update - thus causing me to waste time/angst on a non-Sony app. Do better devs! Where’s the QA??
Like the options but need more!
The equilizer is the best part but some of the menus and options are hard to find. I still can’t figure out how to stop the notifications related to calendar items, messages, and the strike of each hour from my iPhone / iPad. I even sought all the notifications from those devices and still get ‘em.

One of the best affordable wireless earbuds on the market. The ambient sound mode is super clutch during loud events or long traveling flights. 5 out of 5 stars my boi.
Adaptive Sound Control keeps changing.
It’s so annoying. Adaptive Sound Control turns on itself every few weeks. I keep disconnecting it and it keeps turning on every few weeks. Ridiculous.
Good and awful.
Being able to disable the touch controls on earbuds is simply delightful. But why does it take soooooo long to use the earbuds and headphones with a different device? I disconnect the buds from my phone, connect successfully to the tablets Bluetooth, but all I get on this app is ‘connecting…’ Any week soon!
Disappointed
This app used to be great when it offered the different location effects like ‘outdoor stage’ ‘arena’ ‘concert hall’ and ‘club’. The app has changed and I can no longer find them. Are they removed??

Remember settings
The app is fine, but every update, I have to dig through the settings to re-setup the headphones. Speak to chat is not helpful, respect your users settings. Someday they will stop resetting speak to chat. Today’s not that day though.

I don't love that i have to have an app to go into no noise cancelling or transparency. Sometimes the nose cancelling makes awful thunking/popping noises trying to cope with wind and i just want to turn it off without turning on transparency. I miss being able to go between ANC, Transparency, and nothing with my old headphones. I don't like the reliance on an app when you could change most things on the headphones themselves.

So confused
It seems I pressed something too quick and now it won’t let me change from wired to wireless headphones. This might be my fault but the app isn’t very helpful to users who struggle with the mechanics
Infuriating
While the sound may be great, do you really want headphones that will connect and disconnect randomly. It’s so frustrating. It will be fully charged and on the mode so it doesn’t connect to anything else and it will just turn my music off randomly and just disconnect and then connect randomly. Especially when I’m on a call. I was jsut on the tube home and it did it over and over again.

I love this website i can activate all my noise cancellations and change how it sounds like excited or bass boast. Haven’t had a problem with it yet.

Great Speakers, Pathetic App
Sony is one of the best and most innovative audio manufacturers—or at least it used to be. Unfortunately, the Sony Sound Connect app is terrible. I first used it last year with my iPhone 15 Pro Max and the ULT Field 7. After just one day, I returned the speaker. Now I've bought the ULT Field 3. The speaker itself is great, but sadly the app is still just as bad. The app downloaded the latest firmware, but it won't transfer the update to the speaker because it claims the battery level is too low. The speaker is fully charged (100%) and is connected to the charger, yet the app still refuses to update it. Sony makes excellent speakers, but the software seriously lets them down.
Speak to Chat
Is there any way to permanently disable the Speak to Chat. This feature makes this nice headset useless for meeting, basically cuts me out of the meeting. Also others in meeting only catch a few words before it cuts off.

Terrible app that does not save settings
Sonys speak to chat feature is very frustrating when it is turned off and it decided to randomly re activate once a week. Absolutely ridiculous.
Easy to use
The app is fairly easy to use. One feature I’d like is to permanently switch off the speak to pause function. You are able to switch it off but often resets after you logout.
I’m missing connect to 2 devices simultaneously option.

Good, but my headphones keep switching modes when I speak and I can’t turn it off
I don’t understand why my voice keeps switching the noise cancelling modes and pausing whatever I’m listening to. This is incredibly frustrating and I have gone into settings and turned this feature off, but when I connect to a different device it turns back on. This is an issue for me because I don’t care what mode it is on, as long as it stays there. I just wish turning the speech feature off actually worked instead of turning itself back on again. Is there a way to fix this?

Please add an option to lower the voice and or a toggle switch to turn off the voice notification when a pair of headphones reaches 10% (low battery prompt), it's getting annoying it interrupts almost every session especially when you can't do anything about it. As a user you feel confined. My battery is degrading, It's constant and it's annoying apart from that everything else is perfect 4 stars.
Noise cancelling staying off is no longer an option
This app was amazing, but they recently changed it so that noise cancelling off isn’t part of the left side button any more. This means that it always defaults to noise cancelling or ambient on. Both of these are flawed and do not react well to fast, high frequency impact sounds so I used to keep it off. Now I have to go into the app every single time to change it to noise cancelling off.
Sadly Poor Software & Unreliable connectivity
I can never be sure if the buds are actually connected. The latest software (app) looks great compared to earlier versions but I’m afraid to say it’s far from seamless with a fight to get these buds online every time! Crazy in 2026. They sound fantastic but too much of a faff for me to use frequently
